Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

Unless I missed a post, I've got the only orc so far. @DeadlyPhoenix, think that will be problematic from your end? I could switch to a hero instead (or double up)?

Next time I'm at the library, I'll see if they have any. :) They do seem like something I would like to read. In the meantime, I think I could get by well enough with the info from the wiki to get into an RP.
I don't think so. I read one of the Mouse Guard books a good long while ago (and own the table top game) and I was just trying to see if they were part of the same series. Doesn't look it, even though the concept sounds similar.

Do I need to have read the books to play? :)
Mice with swords? I'm interested!
The brigand staggered backwards when Charlie's fist connected with his chin. He swayed, then toppled over, almost into Tamra, but the magic-user side-stepped in time to let him fall to the floor.

She looked over toward Ronan just as the other man's shoulder rammed into the Satyr's chest, pushing them both toward the re-activated portal and the rapier pierced the man's side, causing him to howl in pain.

While Tamra struggled against the man, she saw the portal's magic fade, leaving a smooth wall of obsidian just like they had encountered in the room before. Panic threatened for a moment as a feeling of being trapped in this under water tomb overtook her. But it was short lived.

Ronan's opponent was just a hair too slow. The blade cut through the man's shirt and left a line of red across his chest. He looked momentarily surprised that the Satyr's attack had managed to draw blood. The blood welled up from the wound and dripped down to the floor onto the sigil etched there. Immediately, the portal opened again.

Desperate now, the man dropped his shoulder and tried to drive it into Ronan's chest, hoping to push him back through the portal.

The man saw the kick coming, but was too slow to avoid it completely and it clipped him in the back of the head. He twisted, moving Tamra between himself and Charlie to use her as a human shield, but the kick caused him to lose his grip on her mouth. She took advantage and bit down hard on the soft flesh between thumb and index finger causing him to curse and then push her away, shoving her straight into the monk.

Up until now, Rook's attention had been on the goblins; both her captors and the Liberator. She hadn't gotten a good look at the fellow with Stybs. But as she made her way back to Kaiden, she got a better view of where Marius was conversing with the naked elf girl. She stopped mid-stride, fear gripping her yet again, as she recognized the bandaged man who had voiced the very inhuman, frightful command causing her to bolt toward Kaiden in the first place.

But as much as she might want to flee again, she could not simply abandon her companion. Plus... it seemed he had played some roll in her rescue. So like it or not, perhaps she would find herself allied with ... whatever he was.

She moved toward Kaiden's form, hoping the others were too preoccupied with each other to take much notice of her yet.
Charlie's bald-headed opponent grunted in frustration as the blade went flying from his hand and straight through the magical portal. Desperately, he balled both his hands into fists and swung at Charlie's head, trying to land a blow to the monk's face.

"Won't matter to you in a moment," the beady-eyed thug spat at Ronan, looking him up and down to size up his opponent. Then, instead of lunging forward, he took a step back and snatched one of the few torches from the wall. He hurled it toward Ronan's torso before stepping back in for an attack with his dagger.

Tamra tried to pull free of the stocky man that held her tightly, but he easily overpowered her. Forcing herself to remain calm, she started casting a spell. "None a that!" the man said, recognizing what the girl was attempting and clamped a grimy, calloused hand over her mouth.

While Stybs worked on the knot, Rook studied her rescuer, wondering how such a creature had been the rather terrifying 'Liberator' just a minute before. Now, as he triumphed in loosening the tight knot, he seemed almost comical. Although she didn't dare laugh or even crack an amused smile.

Once the bonds were gone, she rubbed her wrists. "Thank you. I'm fine now," she said, remembering that he had wanted to go talk to the paladin a moment before he untied her hands. "I want to check on Kaiden anyway..." the bowless archer started back toward the clearing.
