Kinzo was far from comfortable with the current state of affairs. Even on the occasional solo runs he had done for the tribe he had never been in a location so void of life. Even the air itself was still. It felt as if they had travelled to the home of the Shinigami. However he did not allow these feelings to make any physical manifestation. He remained aware of his surroundings and maintained his watch over the tunnel that Homuru and Boshu had entered.

It was due to his continued vigilance that he heard the cracking sound coming from the tunnel. He cautiously moved forward, just as Boshu began to speak. Of course she ended up being interrupted as the ground gave way beneath her and Homuru. Kinzo quickly closed the distance between himself and the new hole. Upon reaching the edge of the hole he carefully leaned over it. Seeing that both of his Iwa squadmates were alright he waited at his position until orders were received.

”Nothing has changed up here following the collapse, we will join you down there shortly.” Kinzo’s response to their team leader was immediately followed by Miyu’s announcement of booby trapping the path they had used for entry. He waited for the Kiri Nin to make the plummet through the hole and after taking one last look around the area they had been in he followed after her.

Kinzo soon fell in step behind the others, his eyes scanning their surroundings all the while. This area was a lot more open than the previous one, a fact he was grateful for. There would be a much lower chance of him endangering his allies with his jutsu in this setting and judging by the size of the hole where there once was a massive door this was a benefit.

”Unfortunately much like Miyu said I have no knowledge of what this language is. Hopefully her tinkering with it will lead to a positive result.”

Much like the others he reacted to the new tremor by taking a combative stance, though he didn’t focus his line of site only on the hole in the wall. Instead he let his gaze move across the entire room, worried that if something did arrive it would burst through another location.

While he walked along with Nyma, Barth’s eyes wandered around their surroundings. The wide variety of plant life they passed by fascinated him, and he made a mental note of the locations of a few of the most interesting specimens. His stomach made a slight rumble, reminding him that he had not yet eaten that day. He broke away from Nyma for a moment, she seemed preoccupied with her thoughts at the moment anyway, and carefully examined a cluster of berry bearing plants. He eyed them carefully, trusting his innate ability to detect whether flora was harmful or not. Finding a good handful that were safe for consumption he snatched them up and tossed them into his mouth. He had gotten lucky as they were perfectly ripe and had a just sweet enough flavour to them.

It was only after he finished eating that he noticed the darkness slowly creeping across the sky. It wouldn’t be too long before night fell, creating a sense of worry in his gut. He had no desire to test his mettle against the creatures that would creep out of their dens with the coming of the moon, nor was he interested in finding a place to bunker down. The howl that shattered the relative silence of the night only furthered his instinct to return to the cave. Even with Nyma at his side he knew that they were not armed well enough to fight whatever made that sound.

Fortunately it seemed that Nyma was of the same mind as him, if her words were any indication at least. He nodded along with her instructions, more than happy to follow them. However with the size of his staff and lacking the means to strap it to himself Barth only had the one hand free to offer assistance. Rather than actively search and pickup the needed objects himself he gave Nyma help with carrying, dividing the load between them so she wasn’t overburdened.

Soon enough they had returned to the safety of the cave and were greeted by an elderly Goblin. Barth remembered it being the same one that had bid them safe travels when they departed. He gave the older Goblin a smile and wave before setting down the objects he had been carrying in a clear area. With his task completed he found a nearby spot to rest against, his leaning against the wall to his side. If Nyma had more instructions for him he remained close enough to follow them and if she didn’t he would likely fall asleep in the spot he sat.

@Jangel13 Nope I am still here! Quick question though, since Crusader and I are just going to sleep for the night and I didn't post prior to yours do you just want me to wait until the morning to post or make a fluff post?

The briefing had passed by relatively quickly for Kinzo. The presenter had been matter of fact and straight to the point with the information that the assembled shinobi needed in order to successfully carry out their missions. He knew that for some the fact that they were not the only team tracking their target would create either a sense of competition or disappointment. Neither were felt within him, it didn’t matter that his squad was not the only one with these mission parameters. The only thing of importance was that the mission is completed as well as the overarching goal. Finding the man who betrayed the entirety of the Elemental Nations and find information on the plague he had unleashed.

With the conclusion of the briefing Kinzo joined the rest of his squad as they headed towards their assigned VTOL. As Miyu spoke to him he gave her a slight smile and nodded his head, she took off fast enough that he didn’t have much of a chance to reply verbally. Not that he had much to say in response to that anyway. Instead he continued at his normal pace until he finally was within arms reach of the aircraft.

He settled into one of the seats, glancing towards Miyu as they looked over their supplies. It made sense she would busy herself with such an activity. As she had told them, she had something for every occasion. It only stood to reason that she would want to ensure that they were as well supplied as they possibly could be.

The flight took less time than he had anticipated, though this wasn’t a shock given that he was still growing accustomed to the high levels of technology he was experiencing. Prior to leaving the Dynasties on this mission he had known they weren’t as advanced as the other nations but he never imagined just how extreme the difference was. Even the briefing had proved this as they hadn’t been able to acquire any additional intel from the attack in the Dynasties due to how backwater they were.

His attention was pulled towards Boshu as she spoke to the squad, a quick nod was his response to let her know he had heard. He had no issue that she was taking control. They needed a leader and it certainly wasn’t going to be him. It wouldn’t have mattered if it was one of the other two either. Even if Miyu was younger than him she was still a higher rank.

Kinzo waited patiently as the other three began rappelling down until he finally began his own descent, following close behind the third squad member out of the VTOL. While climbing down the crevice he occasionally shifted to using only a single hand, the other brushing against the strange blend between natural rock and those metals and stone appearing to have been altered by someone. It was a curiosity, but there was nothing he could glean from it and for the time unimportant to the mission at large.

Once they were all on the ground he took a moment to take in the surroundings. Aside from the fact that even more of the area seemed to have been crafted for a purpose the only thing of note was a tunnel at the far side from his squad. He was grateful when Boshu issued the command for him and Miyu to remain outside. He had a couple of shorter ranged techniques but in the tunnel he would risk harming his comrades. Out here with the Kiri nin he could let loose without nearly as much concern if it became needed.

Again his thoughts were interrupted as the ground shook beneath him. He quickly channeled chakra to his feet to ensure he remained stable and once the earthquake passed he looked at his squadmates to see their condition. As everyone was alright he focused on the task at hand once more.

With Miyu covering the entrance they had entered from he turned his focus toward the tunnel. If anything happened he knew it would be on him to ensure that Boshu and Homuru were not flanked from this side. While the two Iwa Jonin were beginning to head towards the tunnel he closed the distance a bit so that he was halfway between the entrance to the tunnel and Miyu.

Sorry for vanishing for a bit all, been busy the last couple of nights. But I am back, will hopefully get a post up here before I sleep.

Ah, not that Nyma and her trusty sidekick companion will prob be allowed to the Church for shenanigans and such. XD

Actually, i wonder what they will run into, really.
