"Uh, yeah.", she backed Harper up with some agreement.
And so the introductions and shyness continued amongst the older members and the newcomers. Nodding her head and stepping back into the somewhat protective space beside the much more familiar faces of Harper and Haruken, the red haired female was curious about the investigation and Jasper realized that they probably didn't receive the same formal, planned introduction to Nowhere as her own group had gotten. They didn't get the rundown of what their ultimate purpose was there and how they would need to go about it. Harper being the coy ice breaker continued to answer the inquiry with a proposed starter about the living list, along with the physical copy of the document. After presenting his contribution to giving Ace a rough sketch of what exactly it was they were doing, he retreated a bit and already she could sense he wasn't in the mood to explain the dreaded background history of Siren Lake mystery. Of course at this point, Haruken took the initiative to deliver the dark side of Nowhere. He was always good at being blunt and straight up and that's the exact approach he took in explaining the life threatening situations of these "adventures".
Jasper could feel sweat forming at the top of her brow because of how oblivious the two must be to the dangers and risks involved in accomplishing these tasks and still manage to live. Cringing a bit at the pale humor he added along with the miserable reality of it all, she was afraid to look up and see their reactions to the sorry news.
"From what we all heard, Cello went with Diss-chan to search for clues from the past when the witch hunt was still active. That'll probably be our main source of evidence, but since we're all here, we might as well search this abandoned place. Maybe if we find the victim's house, we'll discover something interesting. As for what the "Siren's song" might actually be... Any bright ideas?"
Many mixed feelings flooded her senses about the searching out of this particular "item" and enthusiasm was definitely not one of them. Staring at the crumpled living list, every single one they conquered would equal to one step closer to home and so, if they wanted to get back to the 'real' world that much faster, it should be in their best interests to begin the clue sniffing now. Raising up a hand and clearing her throat, Jasper dropped in her two cents.
"Since we couldn't get anything from the Mayor himself, I believe turning to the townspeople for information should be our next move. I mean, they're probably just as terrified and inconvenienced with this Siren as anyone of us. If they knew anything, I'm sure they'd spill every single fact they knew to help us end the suicides."
That was probably the longest she'd ever spoken in her life and the choking feeling that hit her after uttering the last word was oddly similar to the drowning she felt last night. Speaking was so complicated and nerve racking, yet stepping out of her comfort zone was required in all this for her to survive and communicate with her comrades. Remembering that they would need to be investigating caves and around the lake in groups today, first of all, no one even knew how long ago this had happened. What if there was no more actual evidence left on the banks of the lake? What if it had all been washed away? Filling in the blanks wasn't so easy when one considers how little information they had on the topic. Heaven only knows what the hell a 'Siren's Song' even was or looked like. Heck! They could stumble upon it while strolling around the beach and not even know that that's what they were looking for!
