I've been roleplaying since I was 12- so since now I'm 18 its officially been 6 years- although its been on and off. I draw a lot for my roleplays, too.
I usually go for fantasy, adventure, and mythology based roleplays.
Great! I kind of can't really reply until tomorrow evening or Wednesday cause i have important exams tomorrow and Wednesday >.> I then have a ten day gap though so I'll be fine then.
That's alright! No worries, thanks for telling us c:
They sat at Degars Heart, a fountain of jade that flows with the glistening fairy touched waters that pulse through the village like blood through veins. One of the men, the darker of the two, was busy whittling something in his hands with a dagger. By his side sat a bright faced man, eager and cheerful in his demeanor,
"Roque- my crystals have been calling out to me. The other dimensions are eager to open up to me."
The excitement in his voice caused Roque to look up from his whittling. He gave his friend a peculiar look,
"You're a strange man, Tamirlan." And he was right. The act of summoning was seen as sacred and sobering- it was a binding ceremony, despite the simple questions. The way that Tamirlan felt about it- delighted and doting- made it seem like he was some priest at a wedding. Roque did not share this view- they were training soldiers here, not giving pets to children.
By his side lay his summon beast- the massive Carthanach- a behemoth hyena armored for war. Its heaving breath, sluggish due to sleep, caused ripples to pass through the fountains waters as the earth rumbled below. The beast enjoyed sunbathing- a pastime he just recently took up since his master became preoccupied with preparing for the new arrivals.
Tamirlan turned away from them and soaked his hands in the glistening fountain water, he spoke as he cleaned them,
"Maybe you should put him away- no need to scare them on their first day."
Roque laughed, loud and cruel,
"Imagine how I felt when I first saw Carthanach. They need the wakeup call, Tam. Its a reflection of their souls. And I want to see."
The summoner nodded,
"Yes. I'd like to see who they really are as well." He concluded, turning now just as the first of the students came into his line of sight,
"Oh- I think I see them now. How long will it take for them to notice us, you think?"
Roque looked himself over- he was dressed in his casual combat outfit. He glanced over to Tamirlan, who wore his summoning robes. The craftknight snorted,
"Not long. Plus, I made sure that the guards at the gates of the village pointed them in the right direction."
He dropped the whittling project into his pocket and sheathed his dagger, straightening up and looking on toward the assembling students with his bright yellow eyes. When they finally settled down before them he curtly waived,
"Evening, students. I've been assigned to be your mentor for the next few months or so. Name's Roque. This here is Tamirlan- and this-" he jutted his thumb over his shoulder at the colossus beside him, "Is Carthanach, my Guardian Beast."
Tamirlan spoke up now, smiling and seemingly more enthusiastic than his companion,
"And I am the Summoner. I hope your travels fared you well. Roque and I have decided that now would be the best time to summon your Guardian beasts- since the first assessment would be impossible without one. How does that sound? Are you nervous? No need to be!"
Roque rolled his eyes at his friends tone, but his attitude did not break his default gruff voice,
"Tamirlan's right. No use in waiting. The faster we can get you all to bond and fight alongside your beasts, the better."
Tamirlan sat on the fountain and splayed out his hands to the students,
"Now, is everyone prepared with their tokens? Hopefully you all came with your precious items- since without one, I'd be unable to summon your beast. Hand them over now and the ceremony can begin at once."
Get to know your Guardian Beast (also, don't forget to add their profiles to your character sheets)
Current Quest
The First Assessment.
Our heroes will set out into the wilderness on their first task- to kill off a few maddened creatures to maintain the equilibrium of the forest. The students will be separated into teams, lead by a mentor.
Tamirlan's team will be: Calette, Lebelont, and Tal
Roque's team will be: Altea, Sai, and Jobain
Their target creature is: (15) Acalypha Spiders (check Bestiary in Character tab for info)
The purpose of this quest is so each mentor can determine where each student is at skill-wise. This will also provide ample opportunity to see how each works with their newly made partner in a group setting.
Tal stands at around 5'6". You could not describe her as slim, but she is not overweight either. She is reasonably strong, especially her arms. Her hair is long and a dark brown, often tied back, though shorter strands often fall over her dark brown eyes. Her skin is a dusty brown tan in colour and mostly unblemished, though her hands and arms have a few visible rope burns.
Name: Aletta 'Tal' Rilynn Age: 17 Gender: Female
Weapon specialty: Bows
Personality: Aletta is a reasonably quiet person, tending to stay calm and level headed and going about unnoticed. This isn't to say that she dislikes people, in fact she prefers to spend time around others. She just has a tendency to say very little. She is generally quite a collected person, one to think through her actions rather than rush into something. She is a good team player, but has a tendency to follow along with others a bit too much.
Bio: Born to a relatively well off family in Degar, Tal is the youngest of three. With an older brother to inherit and an older sister to be married into another family she was always somewhat reduntant. She was rather close to her older brother and it was him who first taught her to use a bow. She had a natural talent with this kind of weapon, and quickly worked on honing this skill. It was something her parents never particularly approved of. She began to learn how to craft bows only a few years ago, liking the idea of making her own. Against her parents' wishes she went more and more down a path that would lead her to craft and use these weapons for a living. Now she has decided pursue a goal she has secretly harboured for a long time; to become a Craftknight
Sai stands at around 5'2" and is rather short and slender, verging on skinny, with reasonable curves. She has raw muscles and numerous scars scattered about her body. Her skin is fair and her red hair often left loose. Her hazel eyes are often cold, and judging.
Personality: A rather harsh person, Sairse has little tolerance for those she views as weak. She has a raw intelligence and cunning though she has been untaught and has never truly learnt to read or write. Her trust and respect are both things that are difficult to gain, and in general she is unlikely to like people she has only just met. However she is a rather confident person, somewhat flirtatious and headstrong. She has little regard for others feelings and will speak her mind whether it is hurtful or not. Above all she is a survivor, and will do what she can to stay alive.
Bio: Born in the capital, to a poorly mother who died within four years and an unknown father Sairse has spent most of her life looking out for herself. The only thing she possessed of her father was a knife left as a gift for her mother. Sai was young when her mother died and with little to do she forced to take to the streets. Here she was taken under the wing of a few other children such as herself and learnt to put her knives to good use, and the natural agility and speed she had been born with. She learned to defend herself and survive where there was no place for the weak. She became a rather skilled thief, something that she still views as useful. Her life changed somewhat when she made an attempt to steal from a blacksmith, a knife that caught her attention. However she wasn't quite good enough to get out with it. The blacksmith took pity in the young girl, only twelve at the point, and decided to take her in. It was from him that she learnt to craft the weapon she had grown to love and honed her skills more, though she still felt the urge to steal. After five years learning from the blacksmith she left in the night. While she was grateful for what she had been taught she had no wish to make that her future. For two years she travelled from town to town, until now she has reached Degar.
Accepted- but quick question- knives are kinda tiny. They don't span longer than the hand. Did you mean daggers? They're longer and provide more defense.
Lebelont stands at 6'2''. He has muscled and there are a few mighty scars he bears on his body. His skin is lightly tanned from the many hours spent toiling under the sun. He has bright blond hair that sticks out everywhere (His bed-heads are incredibly hilarious) and fierce sky blue eyes that matches his spirit.
Name: Lebelont Askeladd Age: 18 Gender: Male
Weapon specialty: Spears
Personality:
Boisterous and aggressive, Lebelont will always be that guy who charges in head first. He is driven by the desire to achieve, so many of his decisions will be influence either on the opportunity to improve or to prove his existing skills. While he may come across as hot-headed and dim-witted, Lebelont's passion makes up for it. He has a very powerful presence and mind, something that will only translate into power as he continues to learn. Lebelont knows he has a long way to go before he becomes the best Craftknight.
Bio:
Lebelont is the son of village head. He is the second oldest of his four siblings, not including Altea. If there was one thing that could describe Lebelont, it's 'Mama's boy'. Of course Altea came along and then momma was all doting on Altea and maybe Lebelont got a bit jealous. However, he knew Altea was a good person and pretty darn strong too. Lebelont has always seen Altea as his equal and has probably grown most attached to her compared to all of his other siblings. (Mostly because Altea shared the same dream as him.)
While Lebelont originally wanted to learn how to wield and create a long sword, his small stature at 14 would discourage him. It was then when his father jokingly told him to take up the spear instead. His head filled with cool spear technique names, Lebelont bothered the local blacksmith to teach him to make a spear. He was rejected many times before his persistence paid off.
After that, he started to grow taller and taller. However, Lebelont is still sticking with his trusty spear.
[See more at Altea's bio.]
Altea stands at 5'9''. She is also muscled but more of the 'lean' side. Her skin is lightly spotted with freckles and is slightly tan as well, if not a more darker color compared to Lebelonts'. Her body is a canvas of scars and burns that tells a story of hard work and dedication towards her craft. Altea keeps her chocolate brown hair in a messy bun and has cloudy gray eyes.
Name: Altea Askeladd Age: 19 Gender: Female
Weapon specialty: Glaives
Personality:
Altea is an amiable person who keeps her feelings locked away. She speaks and laughs freely, and is known to be brutally honest and ever-enduring. However, Altea does not form attachments easily. To those who manage to worm their way inside her heart, expect lots of shy love. Altea may seem a bit meek at first but she is in fact very cunning and quick-on her feet. She shares a fiery passion with her brother to also become one of the best Craftknights.
Bio:
Altea's real surname is Mereski. Her mother died when she was young, leaving young Altea to fend for herself. Her father was a Craftknight who was never home because he was out travelling to rural places where wild summon beasts ruined farms and killed people. Unfortunately, he vanished and was presumed dead. With no parents, the head of her village (Lebelont's father), took Altea in as it was his duty to take in young children until they turned 18. However, Lebelont's mother, who never had any daughters took Altea as one of her own children.
Thus began Altea's real childhood that was filled with love. She was given a place to call home - a mother and a father who stayed home to raise his children the right way.
Altea met Lebelont when she was 10 years old and Altea found herself slowly drawn to the tiny little boy. Lebelont, fondly called Lebie at the time, would always spout off some random nonsense about becoming the best Craftknight. His parents and other siblings would just scoff at him. Altea knew it was a far-fetched dream, nevertheless, she found her own heart wanting to become a Craftknight like her father.
When Altea found Lebelont being beaten by some boys one day, she promptly kicked their butts and helped Lebelont stand up. Little Lebie thanked her and then challenged her to a duel right off the bat.
"I'll beat you Altea!" Lebie would shriek in his unusual high voice. And she would beat up Lebie too.
The following years, Altea and Lebelont would duel each other during their free time. At seventeen, their battle statistics amounted to this: 4023 clashes; 1540 wins to Altea, 1539 wins to Lebelont, and 944 draws. While their dueling matches could be seen as playful, their clashes eventually shaped how the two fought in the future. Plus, little Lebie was no longer little - much to Altea's disappointment.
During those good years, Altea learned from a nearby village's blacksmith who specialized in glaives. Eventually, she would surpass her teacher so she left for Degar with Lebelont when he turned 18.
They sound great!- I especially like Altea c: please move them into the Character section when you can
Would you like the character sheets posted here before being moved to the character tab?
Yes please. Once they are approved they can be moved to the character tab.
Interested. I'll see if I can come up with anything.
Ah, is there a limit on how many characters we can create?
Good question. I say the limit is 3. usually when I say 2- people make their 2 right then and there- but later on want to make a new character. So I'll allow 3 for that reason.
