Leiko Hamada: Warakuma High- Drama Club Meeting Room Kasumi rose to the challenge presented before him quite aptly, raising the tone of his voice to be more feminine as he did his best attempt to portray a sisterly figure. It was a difficult exercise to pull off, since the language of the piece was quite rich and subtle in its execution. Ismene would need to be a subdued, unopposing girl, in contrast to Antigone's more curious nature. And he did fairly well in his execution. Leiko opened her mouth, intending to give small praise for his enthusiasm, and then he shot that smile again. Was he trying to infuriate her by acting so cocky? Leiko let out a sharp intake of breath and crossed her arms. "Your stance is far too masculine. Your body has a language too, and its speaking the wrong tone," Leiko criticised flatly, ignoring the more positive qualities of his piece. "But still...a round of applause for Kasumi-san on his efforts," she instructed the group, which was conceded by a small burst of applause. Out of the corner of her eye however, Leiko spotted Shinichi speaking to someone unfamiliar, engrossed in their own conversations. "Shinichi-kun, I would thank you to pay attention," Leiko snapped, looking unimpressed before looking over to the newcomer. "And you...I don't recall seeing your face at auditions. Are you aware that the club is at full capacity at the moment?" She asked bluntly. "I appreciate your interest, but I will have to ask you to leave."
Leiko and whomever is controlling Kasumi need to get their practice done and over with.
Yeah, sorry about that. Did the Big Move yesterday and had no time. Will finish up in a bit. Edit: And posted! For the record, it wouldn't be impossible for Mako to join at this point. He would just need to do something...dramatic.
1. Sen, you have far too much time on your hands. 2. And this is a good thing.
"Don't do anything stupid!" That had essentially been Mei's pep talk before Tyler integrated himself into the mission along with the other SeeDs, specifically within Jake Firesong's squad. She was less than impressed on his insistence on joining them in the first place, but that was just Tyler's nature. He fought for what he believed was right, and damn the consequences. That was the intrinsic difference between them really. Tyler was able to control his emotions for the sake of the bigger picture, and Mei just...cared too much. She wasn't really fit for a soldier- heck, she hadn't even killed anyone before. She hid behind the guise that she was just unskilled at fighting, but Tyler knew better. After all, he had grown up with the brat. As the soldier slipped along with the back entrance of the building, he quickly checked his own inventory. Combat was inevitable in these situations, and SeeD was not known for their diplomacy. Frags, smokes, flames, check. Gun's well-loaded, and my basic magic stock's looking pretty good. Satisfied with his preparations, Tyler focused on the mission ahead. The SeeD in charge appeared rather cool and capable; he spoke his men with a calm professional manner, prioritising stealth over mindless bravado, and Tyler could respect that, but he still had to bear in mind that SeeD yet needed to prove themselves. A lot of money and effort was riding on this mission, and failure would prove devastating. The Dollet Incident was a cautionary tale, to be sure. As Jake's squad began to disperse, Tyler held his own in the fight, silencer slotted onto the barrel of his gun as he pressed the nozzle against the back of an unsuspecting soldier's neck and squeezed the trigger with a metallic 'ping'. The soldier slumped into a heap before him, and Tyler did his best to ignore the warm spray of crimson across his face. He was willing to kill, of course, but he took no joy out of it. As he stepped over the body, he found himself grateful that he couldn't see their faces. It wasn't long before the atmosphere abruptly changed, as the voice of the commander (Lerwick, was it?) issued their next command. Breach, breach, breach! The time for stealth was over, punctuated by the swift change in Jake's attitude as he broke into the doorway. The soldiers that greeted them were few and far between, which struck Tyler as strange. Perhaps the other SeeDs were causing more of a commotion at the front entrance? A slight prickle of uncertainty tingled through him, but Tyler repressed the feeling, and instead glanced over to their leader for further instruction. Or, at least he would have, but Firesong was nowhere to be seen. Mutterings amongst the confirmed that he had charged ahead, and Tyler felt a slight hint of exasperation before following the path of bodies in Jake's wake. A leader who doesn't like to play with others...that's just great. The squad soon parted ways, checking various rooms and corridors for signs of Jake or the Major, and it was the sound of a pained grunt that alerted Tyler in his search. Quietly, he split from the others, following the source of the noise with his back pressed flat against the wall. Peering over the corner carefully, he saw Jake interrogate a soldier before swiftly slitting his neck. Tyler grimaced slightly at the scene, before noticing the way the squad leader was carrying his arm. It was bleeding, and from the expression on the SeeD's face, it was causing him quite a bit of pain. Jake was starting to carry on his way again, prompting Tyler to quickly step in his way. "Hey! Easy, it's just me." Tyler quickly spoke up with a frantic wave of his hands as he no doubt startled the SeeD. "It's Tyler. You know, from the Faction?" He added this part in a low whisper, in case of unwanted eavesdroppers. "I tagged along your squad. Going solo now, huh champ?" He said jokingly, blue eyes flickering over to Jake's wound. "Look, let me help you with that. I've got a Cure stocked." He gestured to his arm for a moment before taking another step forward. "It's no good carrying on in the state you're in. Don't want to sabotage the mission now, right?" There was a serious note to his words as he reached over and pressed his hands on Jake's arm before waiting for an answer. "Look, just let me help." As he said those words, blue, purifying magic glowed from his fingertips and webbed over the bleeding wound, cleansing and disinfecting it. It wasn't a strong enough spell to accelerate the healing process, but it got the job done as the bleeding would start to cease. "There. Wasn't so hard was it, Mr Leader?"
What the heck. Did I accidentally log onto Facebook?
Talk about the shittiest day at work. It's my last week and they decide to take the piss and send me to A & E to work. Am I trained in that area? No. Is it in my contract? Nooooooo. In any case, I am tired and terribly grouchy. And very much in the unreasonably ranty mood. But anyway, I do have a post mapped out in my head, and I'm willing to type it out tonight, but if Lennon wants to charge forward (since we have been on this for a while) I'm totally fine with that.
Leiko is way too Westerny.
Leiko confirmed freeaboo/teaboo.
Made worse by the fact that her creator is a Brit.
First IC post! Wunderbar. ...Probably should have said this back when I posted earlier, but... yeah.
We have yet another male joining the Drama Club I see. How many is that now? 7? Anyway, feel free to welcome your new Leiko overlord.
So I got some huge writer block with that post. I don't even know. Ugh. Anyways, this is the source link I'm using for the dialogue btw.http://www.bartleby.com/8/6/1.html I was going to go for a reversed gender thing at first, but hey, we all need a break from Shakespeare sometimes. So yeah. Oblivion, just pick and choose quotes that sound good and go from there. I won't be using Sophocles much (y'know, because that squicky incest) but in the meantime, I need to read up on some good Japanese plays. Leiko is way too Westerny.
Leiko Hamada: Warakuma High- Drama Club Meeting Room There was a stretched silence that followed, and Leiko was starting to feel uneasy when she glimpsed the corners of Masatomo's mouth twitching. He was either going to openly mock her or volunteer...and she really wasn't keen on the latter. Fortunately, another male spoke up in the nick of time, and Leiko's attention was immediately drawn to the owner of the voice. Ahh...isn't that Sieghardt Kasumi? Leiko mulled to herself as her eyes raked over his thin figure. He was already in the Drama Club before the auditions, so Leiko couldn't really recall his style or acting ability. Rumour spread quickly in the town of Warakuma however, and it occurred to Leiko that he was known to have a 'personality disorder' of some description, at least according to the students. Well, Leiko was certainly not inclined to judge- "I promise not to shame you." What. Leiko blinked, almost slightly taken aback by his words as he shot her a carefree smile, script in hand. Was he serious? He would imply that he could have the capacity to put Leiko Hamada, Club President and star of the arts, to shame? Well. "I see. Well, in that case, please step forward, Kasumi-san," Leiko smiled, a sharpened edge to her tone that made several of the club members share wary looks to one another. "And I assure you that shaming me in my acting prowess is a nigh impossibility. But still...I welcome you to try." Leiko stepped to the side, allowing Kasumi ample room to stand alongside her whilst the others grouped together and watched on at the scene that was about to unfold. Leiko cleared her throat promptly before flicking to a specific page of her script, her eyes downcast to a particular passage. "Hmm, I believe this one will do. Now you will assume the role of-" Bang! The sound of something-or rather, someone- hitting the door alerted the entirety of the club, Leiko's expression becoming slightly irked at the sight of a panting Alexei Dragunov standing before them. "Your timing was less than impeccable, as always. But no matter. Stop wasting time and join the others," Leiko said dryly before shaking her head with a weary sigh. "I have lost all train of thought now...where was I...oh, yes!" She snapped her fingers and looked over to Kasumi. "Our practice demonstration. Please, turn to page 32 and give yourself a moment to familiarise yourself with the text." As she said this, Leiko set aside her own, looking at her partner intensely as a different aura began to resonate in her very being. The stern, bold expression of Leiko Hamada quickly melted away to an unsettling look of fear and trepidation as she regarded the male before her with a look of helplessness and despair. "Ismene, mine sister, dearest one-" Hushed giggling spread across the room as it became apparent that not only Sieghardt's role was a female like earlier alluded, but that both would be sharing a close sisterly bond with one another. Not that half the group understood the words that spilled from Leiko's lips, but it was amusing to them nonetheless. Leiko, meanwhile, did not break her character once, the essence of Antigone taking hold of her soul as she locked eyes with the fellow performer. "Knowst thou? Hast heard? Or is it hidden from thee, the doom of foes that comes upon thy friends?" At this stage of the play, the grief-stricken Antigone was emotionally reliant on her focused, law-abiding sister to guide her and protect her. Their relationship became more complicated as the story progressed, but the excerpt had just enough character depth to challenge her partner's knowledge on classic theatre, not to mention his abilities to work out of his comfort zone. As she waited for his response, Leiko considered whether she had pushed him (and the growingly bemused audience) too far with such a strange choice of text, but only time would tell.
I wait for friendship
