The young Diggard had just set down another drink when the doors slammed open, turning her head to look, Sapphire’s eyes widened. There was one of her older brothers, bleeding from a deep wound. She immediately ran to his side after she watched him collapse to the ground. Standing next to Mishka frozen with concern. She felt a slight tug on her hood before she was lifted off the ground by her wolf.

"Mishka, come with us. Let us get out of the way so they can help him. The healer woman is at the bar tonight. See there she is.” Hunt informed the other large wolf, looking to a woman shoving past people as she tied her hair fully back. Her golden eyes focused solely on Flint. "We will be of no help over here. We will just get in the way, that means you too Sapphire. Come this way." Hunt nudged Mishka with his back hip, turning her in the direction he then began to walk off too. He walked to where there were less tables but they had a clear view of where they were tending to Flint.

Hunt set Sapphire down but didn’t let go of her cloak as her sat down, causing her to begin to fall backwards. This is when he did let go of her cloak, letting her fall back onto back. Hunt then lied down, placing his front paws and his head on Saph’s lap.

Sapphire groaned as she landed on her back and let out a breath as the weight of Hunt settled into her lap. “Hunnnnttttt” She whined wanting to go to her brother and aide him. But she knew Hunt was correct. That healer lady was quite good at what she did and she’d only be in the way. So she settled for sitting up and watching from where she was stuck.

Rowyn had been simply sitting at a table by herself in the corner observing people within the bar when she heard the tavern door slam open. She casually looked over to the door and immediately she was up on her feet. The man at the door had a large gash on his forearm, it was still bleeding quite a bit and the man was showing signs of fatigue and blood loss. It didn’t help that his words were slightly ominous. As soon as the man fainted she began to make her way towards the front where he had fainted. She pushed men out of the way as they looked at the man.

‘Stop looking and actually help the man you idiots.’ Rowyn thought, ignoring the protests of the men she pushed. Their protests stopping when they noticed who it was. She continued pushing through the crowd tying her hair fully back as she went.

As she approached her body she noticed how only one man had gone to help lift the injured man off the ground. “Oi! Stop gawking like children and help lift the man on a table. Or are you really going to let a woman show all you manly men up by being the only other one to help lift this man.” Rowyn called out to the gawking hunters. Her no nonsense side showing. When she needed things done to help an injured person she had a way to get people to help her. Especially idiots like these in the bar.

After she called the men out, there seemed to be a scramble as more men approached and help the other man lift the injured up onto a table. The men immediately cleared the way for Rowyn as she began pulling things out of her bag and setting them besides the man’s arm. After all her supplies needed to treat the wound and the man were on the table she tossed her bag under the table. Looking to his arm she noticed the leather bracer he had on would get in the way so she paid no mind to the people around and lifted up a small part of her skirt to reach her thigh and pull one of her daggers out. Being careful not to cut the man she cut the bracer off, throwing it to the side. Rowyn then poured the alcohol in one bowl, the soapy water in another bowl, and regular water in the last bowl. She then poured some of the alcohol substance on her hands sterilizing them before grabbing a rag and soaking it in the soapy water.

Rowyn tried washing the blood away but frowned noticing that she’d have to stop the bleeding first as her first rag was now soaked in blood. Setting it to the side she grabbed a long 2 inch thick bandage. She lifted the man’s arm and slipped it underneath moving the bandage above the elbow. She let it sit there for a moment as she quickly sterilized her needle and suture thread and made sure everything else she needed was nearby. Once she stopped the bleeding with the tourniquet procedure she had learned, she’d have to work quickly so to get the blood flowing in the limb again.
Once she was sure she was ready, Rowyn zoned in completely blocking out the noises of the tavern. With swift hands she began. Lifting the bandage around his arm she brought the strands together and began twisting them, tightening the bandage around the arm until the flow of blood seemed to slow from the wound. Once satisfied, pulling taut she brought the two sides around his arm again and tied them to keep it tight. She then immediately began cleaning the blood off with soap and water, satisfied to see that she was able to see the wound clearly now. The location was lucky, no tendons were ripped apart. For a hunter that could mean the end of their career.

Once she finished cleaning it with soap and water, she moved his arm so the forearm was hanging off the edge of the table. Using the soapy bowl of water to catch, she poured the regular water over the arm, rinsing excess soap away. She then laid a clean rag down and placed the forearm on it. She finally took a rag and soaked it in the alcohol. She used the rag to get within the wound to get dirt out and fully clean the wound as gently as she could. Fully sterilizing it the best she could. Grabbing the needle, she threaded it swiftly before getting to work. Rowyn was skilled at stitching wounds at this point so getting each part of the wound was easy work for her. Once she finished she took her dagger and cut through the tourniquet allowing the blood to return to the lower part of the arm.

In an unused bowl, Rowyn pulled out some herbs and crushed them adding some water and mixing it together. Going to his head she placed a hand under his head lifting it up slightly before pouring a bit of the mixture into his mouth. Rowyn finished up by applying an herbal paste over the stitches and bandaging his arm up. “The drink I made should help a bit with his pain and should wake him back up here soon.” Rowyn said, mostly to Bobby knowing how he had reacted to seeing this man come into the tavern like this. “I will stay with him until he wakes up and I know he is stable.”

Walking down to the lower part of the cave, Celosia thought over the conversation. The man was right in everything he said. Even if the truth did hurt. Celosia still didn’t want to believe the life she had created had simply been destroyed over the period of a day. But it was time she let reality in as if she didn’t her life could be at stake.

The town was already bringing hunters to it for investigation. She knew that they would probably search every inch of the nearby area and more than likely uncover her cave. If she stayed, Celosia would fall at the hands of the Hunters. But if she went, could she control herself to not burn the witches responsible for the town’s downfall? Celosia wasn’t sure of that, despite knowing there was safety with the coven, she knew murdering other witches would not be okay. Her temper was an issue with her though, one that was as fiery as her. But maybe they could help her with it? Maybe she could learn more about who and what she was?

Celosia grimaced. Did she want to know more about the monster she was? The monster responsible for murdering her own family? She didn’t know. But she did know she wasn’t done making up for her sins and that her best bet was to go to the coven. Go with the man and the fox.

Stopping once she reached the bottom of the cave, Celosia stared at the place she had once called home. Bending down she stuck her hand into some lava, picking some up in her hand and using her magic to keep the lava from falling to the ground. A faint smile showed on her lips as she moved it around making shapes with it before letting the lava fall back into the pool of lava. With one last look at everything and her mind made up, she stood in a firm stance and concentrated. She lifted a larger amount of lava out of the pool and threw it onto where she had a few items. The lava completely disintegrated the items as it slowly rolled back to the pool of lava. No trace of Celosia would be left behind in this cave. It would just be a cave with some lava.

Brushing a strand of hair out of her face, Celosia took a deep breath and turned before running up and out of the cave. Stopping at the cave entrance she looked around located the man sent to bring her back to the coven. Once she spotted him, now a good distance away, she knew she needed to distract him so she could catch up. Placing her hands together, Celosia created fire between them before closing her eyes and focusing on a shape she wanted.

Opening her eyes again, Celosia lifted her top hand to reveal a small butterfly made of fire. It had been a new spell she was working on so she could only make smaller creatures and for short periods of time but it was perfect for now. Mentally instructing the creature on what to do, the little fire butterfly took off from her hand going straight towards Taran. Once it caught up to the man it began to fly around him, back and forth in front of him, and sometimes land on him before taking off again.

While the butterfly distracted to keep him from getting farther away, Celosia lightly jogged towards the man and the fox. Once she was within range, about 10 ft from them, she slowed to a walk. The butterfly did one more loop around Taran before flying to Celosia and landing on her hair before disappearing.

“I will come and join your coven but on the condition that if I choose so. I can leave the coven if I am unhappy with it, without any consequences. I also make no promises in being able to control my temper if I meet with the coven witches responsible for the massacre of the town. I will try, but my temper does tend to have a mind of its own.” Celosia looked to the man, her face showing she was serious and not going to budge on what she said.

Then her face lightened ever so slightly. “Also I believe names are in order if we are going to be in this coven together. Mine is Celosia.” She informed him as she walked past him, stopping once she was a few feet ahead of him and looking back. “We should get going though. I don’t want to burn the forest down by accident so I’d prefer we make it before the sun sets.”

The ride had been long and the group was exhausted. The trip, though successful, had taken many days and nights for the guards and the two royals. It certainly didn’t help that the carriage had broken down on the way back leaving the princess to have to ride horseback the rest of the way. They were almost back to the castle though, the group just now passing through the castle town.

The king sat tall as he kept his eyes ahead, his stare occasionally glancing to the crowd of people watching them pass, only making anyone he laid eyes on cower from his stare. Anytime his eyes fell on one of his men they sat up taller not wanting to get in trouble for coming off as tired as they were. If anyone slacked off he would punish them and they knew it.

Eleanor sat upon her horse riding side-saddle, the most uncomfortable way to ride but she couldn’t ride normally without getting in trouble. She was exhausted and her lower half practically numb from the long ride in such an uncomfortable position. All the princess wanted to do was sleep at this point but she kept her head up and a smile on her face.

Quietly and kindly she greeted the people and occasionally would try and slip a few gold coins from her dress pocket to them if she could reach without falling off her horse that is. She just had to make sure her father didn’t see. The other guards, especially Fenros was used to it by now and Fenros seemed to really be the only one who paid much mind to what she was doing the better part of the last half of the journey. The rest of the men too tired to care. It was Fenros’ job though, seeing as he was her bodyguard.

The castle town was as it usually was when they passed through, lively and crowded. People mainly cowering from the king while attempting to get close to the generous princess. It was clear which royal was liked more and that’s why the guards more centered around the king through the town as none truly believed the princess to be in that much danger. Of course she had guards around her too, but the king was the hated one.

Fenros was walking beside the princess to her left. He had given the princess his own horse and walked beside her the rest of the way. Though he would have wished to have ridden with her personally. For a multitude of reasons. But he highly doubted the King would have approved even for the most logical reasons for protecting her.

So he decided the best thing was to walk by her side. Though admittedly walking those miles in his armor was a brutal one. He felt it was good for him...having the position he did...he didn’t see action too much. He didn’t look it, but he was ready to just sleep in his armor. He couldn’t let that hinder his need to make sure El was safe.

He glanced to her, as she handed out coins. He groaned inwardly… as she was sure to see the look on his face on not liking the idea of letting strangers so close to her like this. But he couldn’t stop her… it was what made her...well her. Especially when she kept that warm smile on her lips, despite being in pain he was sure from the way she rode. It’s what gave him strength.

His left hand rested on the Pommel of his sword as he walked, partially out of comfort and readiness. He glanced forward towards the king, as to make sure he was not looking at them. Fenros drew closer to the princess and whispered.
“We are beginning to draw a crowd. Perhaps we don’t want to draw more attention of your father the king?” He would have hated to have her get into trouble giving money to her people.

Glancing down at Fenros for a brief moment as he spoke, El nodded absentmindedly before she reached into her pocket to get the last of the gold and quickly handed it out.
“There, I’m all out now so I won’t hand anymore out.” Eleanor informed him, smiling to him. “Besides the crowd would be here with or without me giving out coin Fenros. You and I both know this.” She looked back up at the crowd, looking over everyone. Her heart growing heavy at the sight of some of the people. She would have to sneak out later with some food to hand out. She hated that there could be such an excess of it in the castle but so many people could have so little outside the gates.

Fenros raised an eyebrow at El when she quickly handed one more coin out.
“Yes….that’s true…” He said slowly. Everyone wanted a chance to see the princess. He opened his mouth to explain but he sighed as he knew, whatever he said, she would not listen to him. She had an overly generous heart for a royal. She looked around and he knew, she was thinking of the people. This was one of the reasons he never took the position as general for the King. He had to make sure she was safe. “Please princess….I wish to sleep tonight...Don’t be thinking what I think you are…”

A chuckle escaped Eleanor’s lips, “Don’t worry Fenros. I will wait for tomorrow so you can get some sleep.” She looked to him and grinned widely before looking ahead once again. Not wanting her father to catch her speaking with Fenros.

A little further away, Annabelle finished putting on the stolen watch uniform. It was a simple outfit, not much different from the one she used to wear in the militia, although this time the chest had the Kingdom’s crest. Next she grabbed her crossbow, using a lever to span it’s powerful prod. She didn’t put the bolt on yet. That would come in later.

’This is it’ Annabelle thought to herself as she climbed to the nearby roof. Up there she took the bolt and put it on the bow. Now she looked no different from any other crossbowman of the watch, observing the crowds from above. She wasn’t searching for apple thieves or possible causes of riot. Her target was the worst criminal of them all, the King.

Annabelle couldn’t have believed her luck when she hard heard at the marketplace that the King and the Princess were late because of the loss of their carriage. That meant that they were forced to ride to the city in the open. The outlaw hadn’t actually thought of King dying like this. She had hoped to one day storm the castle with an army and force the King to walk to the bridge wearing nothing but a millstone tied around his neck, from where she would throw him to the river to drown like the dog he was. A fitting end to the Blood King. But beggars can’t be choosers.

Besides, this one bolt would be all she needed. Annabelle could just imagine it in her mind. With the King dead, the Royal Family would tear itself apart over who would sit on the throne. In the chaos she would have time to find the disgruntled people to form an army. By then the Vanguard would only be a shadow of itself after being forced by the King’s children to fight amongst themselves, no match for the rebels. Oh, how Annabelle waited for the opportunity to humiliate what remained of the Royal Family before their execution.

But first things first. Annabelle returned from her daydreams to the real world. The crowd below was retreating, a sign of the King approaching. She saw how the members of the Watch straightened themselves when the King looked at them, and Annabelle did the same. But as the King and his escort passed her, Annabelle took aim with her crossbow, targeting the King’s head. From the pressing of the trigger, the prod was released, sending the bolt towards its target.

Just before the bolt was released, a guard had looked back in time to see them aiming for the king. With no time, but to yell
“Assassin!” He reached out and covered his monarch. The bolt piercing his armor and lung letting a gargle of blood escape his mouth before his weight and awkward position caused him to slide off the back of the horse. Four more guards on horses lifted their shields and covered the kings back, Urging the king to move towards a different route. While the King roared to kill the person who dared attempt to attack him. Though this did not stop him from rushing off a separate route. Nor did it seem to occur to him his daughter might have been in danger.

As soon as heard the word the single word, Fenros felt a surge of adrenaline. Only glancing to see the man who was shot in the back, he was already mounting his horse. As soon as his much larger body was now shielding her, he wrapped his left arm around her waist and grabbed the reins with his right and snapped them.
“Protect the King!” He yelled to the other guards, He would not let any harm come to El. But he didn’t know how many assassins there were. So he ordered the other guards to stay with the man, and hunt down.

He did not look back as the other guards who had bows began to fire back at the assasin on the roof.

Everything happened all very suddenly. The exclamation of an assassin, a man dying to protect her father, then Fenros was behind her. He had wrapped his arm around her waist grabbed the reins with his other and then they were off. Eleanor mostly just felt shocked at what had happened, her mind going blank as she recounted the last assassination attempt she had gone through. But this time Fenros was with her and there was only one person who was making the attempt, or so she hoped. El gently shook her head, her body subconsciously leaning closer to Fenros. He protected her last time and she knew he would this time as well. That is what she focused on instead of anything negative.

Annabelle cursed her bad luck. One vigilant guard was all that stood between her and King’s death. And now the guards on rooftops had noticed her. She needed to escape. Luckily behind the house she had already put a carriage full of hay to soften her landing. The carriage itself would be no good for escaping. It was too slow in the midst of all this chaos. She discarded her helmet. It would only draw attention to her now, and replaced it with her cloak she had left on the carriage. Putting on the cloak, Annabelle ran to the opposite direction of the scene, attempting to hide in the shadowy alleys of Akarath.

As the guards were scrambling, there was another man in a green mottled cloak with a Longbow in his left hand that was coming upon the scene. From behind. Walking with his horse following without guiding it with the reins. He had missed the initial attack, but saw the royal guards shooting up at the building behind them, and in front of him. His eyes followed the shots to see a person running away up and over the roof for their escape.

An interested ‘hmph’ could came from his throat, as moved to the nearest alley that was near the assassins perch.
“Stay Shay!” he called out to his horse without looking who stopped suddenly where she stood. Once in the shadows he moved quickly enough to make it to the other side to see the would be assassin climbing out of her escape plan.

He stayed in the shadows as she discarded the helmet. Slowly pulling an arrow from his quiver. Nocking it to the drawstring He waited for the right moment as she ran passed him in the opposite direction. As she ran away in the crowded streets, he waited till the absolute right moment before pulling back his bowstring and while aiming for only aiming for a second, he fired. The arrow hissed passed innocent people and found its mark a hundred yards away.

The force of the arrow and unexpectedness of it suddenly piercing her shoulder would have caused the woman to be knocked down. The cloaked man ran out into the crowd as people screamed at seeing someone shot.

He made his way over to the woman till he was only five feet away. Not even putting an arrow on his bow again. Sighing. He said irritably.
“ All I wanted was some coffee…” Reaching down he grabbed the girls uninjured arm. “Up you go…under the order of his majesty the... “ He stopped himself. “ you know what you are under. Come on then.”

Barely missing the action, another cloaked person jogged over to the man and the injured woman. “Dammit! I always miss the action! Never leave any fun for me do ya old man?” A woman’s voice spoke. “First you’ve been taking the kills for the meals and now you steal the catching of the king’s attempted assassin! It is quite rude if you ask me. Very rude indeed.” The woman crossed her arms.

Annabelle groaned, too much in pain to talk or fight, so she just let herself be dragged. She chuckled when the woman came, reprimanding the man from stealing her catch. The two bounty hunters had no courtesy at all, not that Annabelle assumed they’d have. There they were, fighting over who would get a chance to bring him to the king. Although for Annabelle it would be beneficial if the bounty hunters tried to kill each other over her price. It would give her some time to escape.

“Fight for the reward money all you want,” She finally grunted. “All you will get from the Blood King is your own noose in the gallows as my co-conspirators.”

The man stopped as he heard the voice of the woman behind him. “If you were not browsing every shop that sold a dagger… you could have been here to take her in.” he started to say as he turned around, looking at the woman with just a hint of a smile on his face. “I’m just keeping you on your toes.”

His smile vanished when the would be assassin spoke raising his eyebrow at her comment. She didn’t know who they were? That’s new. Pulling her back to where he left his horse “Honestly If I got paid a reward for every bandit I brought in, I would not…..” he stopped suddenly as he noticed a smell. Looking to his right he saw a stall that had different sorts of Coffee beans. Their lovely aroma strong enough to reach their noses even in this street.

”If you got paid a reward?” Annabelle asked, realizing what the hooded man had just said. “How can you make a living if you...”

It was at that moment that the outlaw noticed the man’s mottled cloak, or rather why he would wear one, and gave a hearty laugh, or as hearty as she could with all the pain she was having.

“Woodsman,” Annabelle sighed, cursing her luck. “Honestly, I don’t know if I should be honored, or mortified. To run into the King’s personal operatives like that. The Fate truly is against me.”

He dragged the bleeding woman over to the stall, despite his small stature he had a vice grip on her arm. He seemingly ignored the woman laughing. Clearly she was finally coming to terms in an odd way.

He looked the different kinds. Noting one he never seen before. “I’ll take some of this one please.” He said in a completely different tone. Almost like he was a boy in a candy shop. Despite the importance of taking this would be assassin to the garrison.

“My old ones need to be replaced! I can’t help it, they have some real beauts in the shops here in town.” The woman replied as she walked with him and the would be assassin. As the man stopped short, she also noticed the smell in the air. “Wait V-” She tried to stop him but it was too late, the man was already dragging the woman to the coffee stall.

Placing her hand on her face and shaking her head, the woman followed after them.
“I swear this is an addiction for you. If you had to choose between anything and coffee. It would always be the coffee. Even if it was something like peace in the kingdom. Nope. Coffee. You’d marry it if you could. Honestly, I’m going to talk to a priest later. I want to make your love for coffee official.” A smirk grew on her face as she spoke. It had been years since he tried to get her to enjoy coffee but it just never was her thing.

The man looked to the girl. He opened his mouth in protest…. but hesitated. He shrugged as he realized what she said was true.
“Don’t be silly….” he said at normal tone. Looking back to the shop keeper as she handed him a small bag and he gave her some of his coin. “I’ve already tried….” he said in a softer tone in sarcasm.

He then seemed to remember he had a criminal in his hand.
“It’s true that fate is with me today. I would have never have found this coffee stand.” He said lifting the coffee beans. Clearly in a better mood.

“I have seen some stupid things done throughout my life. But nothing as fantastical as trying to kill the king in broad daylight…. alone.” He said as he packed the coffee beans in his pouch.

“And I would have succeeded, if it wasn’t for that vanguard in the rear.” Annabelle reminded. Carriage broken, the King had to arrive on horseback, a perfect target. One bolt to the head and he’d be dead. And then his children would have fought over who would get the crown, forcing the Vanguard to slaughter each other and the Woodsmen...” The outlaw went silent after realizing what she was about to say, so she turned her attention elsewhere. “You capital folks have it good. Coffee, tea, sugar, tobacco, opium. Stalls filled with pleasure commodities. I’d be happy to just have beer to drink, instead of that cursed gin. It’s the only drink we commoners can afford anymore with you nobles taxing and confiscating everything. We can’t even gather branches from the forest without paying a compensation for it.”

Annabelle sighed. “Although, what does it matter? Here I am having a chat with the man who is sending me to the gallows, buying coffee like it was normal to do when holding a captive. Then again, I’m not exactly going anywhere, am I?” The outlaw looked behind her, watching if the woman was still keeping her eyes on her.

Letting a chuckle out at the man’s response to her joke, the woman simply shook her head.

“Why am I not surprised…” she muttered. She then stayed silent, keeping her eyes on the fugitive while listening to the man speak before listening to the fugitive speak. Her idea on how the kingdom would fall was a fantasy at best, it made the woman scoff at the would be assassin.

“You’ve got a skewed view of some of the people in the kingdom. Well those around the king… Most of the nobles can kiss my ass.” The woman spoke the last part to herself.

“Anywho, I do believe it is time we take the fugitive to the jail instead of buying coffee.” The woman suggested.

The man sighed, as he ignored most what the assassin said but chuckled, looking to his companion. “She thinks us to be nobles. She really doesn’t understand the world does she?” He shook his head. But with her saying it was time to go he nodded his head, it was indeed time. He got what he needed.

The two woodsmen retrieved their horses all while dragging the prisoner with them. The prisoner was then delivered to the castle prison to await her fate. What fate had in store for her? Well, that’s fate’s decision.

Sapphire had just finished placing two drinks down at a table when she turned around to come face to face, well face to chest with a man. Looking up she cocked her head to the side as he spoke to her, very formally if she might add.

“Excuse me madam, does there happen to be a Bobby that works here? If there is, could you to introduce me to him? I’ve been trying to meet his acquaintance.”

After he had finished speaking she couldn’t help but let out a small giggle as she had excellent people skills. “Hehe~ you talk funny. No one calls me madam. It’s usually girly or Lil Red or Hood. Madam is a first.” Saph giggled again forgetting his question for a moment before her eyes widened. “Oh yeah! Uncle Bobby! Follow me!”

The small brunette easily weaved through the tavern but stopped every few seconds so she didn’t just straight up leave the man behind.

Meanwhile…

Hunt half looked up at the man known as Uncle Bobby, half glared at him as the man nudged his back leg. “Alright you overgrown teddy bear, Need you out of the way the counter is gettin’ too busy. To the corner with you”

The wolf simply huffed in understanding and stood up, he was getting ready to go to the corner when he saw Sapphire approaching the bar with a man on her tail. He instead went over to her, getting between her and the man as soon as they reached the bar, staring the man down as Sapphire spoke to her uncle.

Sapphire arrived to the bar, paying no mind to Hunt as he came over, absentmindedly running her hand through his fur. “Uncle Bobby! This man wanted to meet your…. uhhh” The girl paused trying to remember what the man had said again.

“Acquaintance?” Hunt suggested.

“Acquaintance! Yes, acquaintance. Thank you Hunt. This man wanted to meet your acquaintance Uncle Bobby! Ooo more orders! I’ll take them.” With that Sapphire picked up the drinks on the bar and took them. Did she know where to take them? No. Did that stop her from confidently walking into the main area of the tavern? Definitely not.

Hunt let out the best sigh a wolf could and looked at the disappearing Sapphire before shaking his head and trotting over to the corner and lying down. The girl was something else.

Celosia had seen the fox and the man shortly before they had approached her, more so the fox seemed to lead the man to where she was. She tensed as they approached, her eyes narrowed as they stared the two down even as they stopped in front of her. Warmth built inside her body as she tried to determine what it was they wanted and who they were. Was the man a hunter? He didn’t seem to have any weapons on him so it didn’t seem that likely but as soon as he asked if she was a witch all alarm bells in her head were going off.

Her own hands were about to cast fire when she saw a small fire spark in the palm of his hand. Celosia’s eyes returned to a neutral state as her body relaxed. The man in front of her was a warlock. One of the rare few male witches. It was his next question that brought a scoff from her lips.

“Of course. The coven leader wishes to offer sanctuary to me. I had already pieced together that the town’s slaughter was the doing of witches. But your arrival and the offer. Just the final pieces I needed. It was coven witches responsible for this wasn’t it? You don’t even need to answer because I can tell. There is no other way I would have been found by the coven if they hadn’t been around here.” Celosia was once again tense, her eyes narrowed and now holding the look of tiny fires burning within.

The redhead walked a bit out of her cave, her bare feet making all but no sound as she did. She stared down at the town. The place she had once vowed to protect. “This town. This town I had vowed to protect and until this event I had. From rogue witches, vampires, werewolves, other monsters and creatures. I knew life stories of a good amount of these people. There was a newly wed couple and a woman due to give birth by the time the next full moon comes. Two children who had grown to be teens in love. But now all of that is gone because coven witches took it from them.”

Closing her eyes, Celosia took a deep breath feeling the breeze on her face before she opened her eyes and turned back towards the man. “But you come here from the coven. Asking me to join. To join the people who slaughtered a town, who slaughtered children! I don’t know about you but that type of thing isn’t how I roll. I don’t murder people, especially children. I do not want a part of a coven that allows such things. So count me out. I am content here, where I am.”

Feeling she had said all she needed to say, Celosia walked back towards her cave. She knew she’d have to move now that the coven knew of her location. She would worry about that later though.

She had gone for one day, ONE DAY to travel around the mountain to check on something on the other side and this is what she came back to. She walked through the town, not minding the blood she stepped through as she looked for anyone still alive. Celosia couldn’t find a single survivor among the massacre. She couldn’t find a single survivor in the town she vowed to protect. In the town she HAD protected for so many years. Yet now, after one short period she had allowed herself to go elsewhere, they were all massacred. Treated no better than pigs for slaughter. People who had helped her when she was younger and provided her a sense a familiarity in her life.

Nothing was left of them but corpses now. Celosia wanted to scream, to set everything a blaze, to set the world a blaze. But that wouldn’t do anything to undo her mistake. To make up for yet another burden she’d carry upon her shoulders. Looking one last time at the corpses around her, Celosia turned and made her way out of the town, knowing Hunters would be on their way soon with such a huge event like this. She couldn’t stay in the town and mourn. No, she’d have to retreat back to her place of solitude.

So that is what she did, making a quick stop by the small stream near the town to clean the blood from her bare feet. Trying to forget for now. As soon as Celosia had made it to her caves entrance, she turned and looked back at the town noticing the hunters were finally arriving. She turned away and retreated to the depths of the mountain where a pool of lava awaited her to help her relax.

Celosia stayed in the pool of lava for a few hours before deciding to make her way back up to the cave entrance. She grabbed a loose dress and threw it on so she wouldn’t be walking around bare this time. The dress hung off one shoulder as she made her way back up to the cave entrance. Once she got there, Celosia stopped and watched the dying flames of the town. She was not surprised they had burned it. Celosia had wanted to do it herself, she would have if the hunters didn’t. Sitting down, Celosia decided to just watch the town from a distance. She’d stay there and make sure no one did anything to disturb the resting souls of the people or to defile the town. She would watch over the town for now, until she decided what to do next.

Running about within the tavern, a very short brunette was helping the owner, her Uncle Bobby, deliver drinks and food. Sapphire bounced on the balls of her feet as she smiled widely at a drunk customer who now had an empty glass. “So you want another one right?”

The drunk man hiccuped and looked at her face, being too drunk to think properly and seeing her adorable face awaiting an answer. He of course said yes, giving the girl the money for another as she bounded over to her uncle. “Uncle Bobbyyyy~” Saph singsonged. “The man over there,” She pointed to the man, ”would like another drink.” Sapphire hopped up on a stool and handed her uncle the coin.

“You almost tripped three times this time” Hunt, her black wolf stated as he came to her side. He tended to lay back behind the bar out of the way while Sapphire did her thing. Sometimes sitting besides it to keep an eye on the girl to make sure she stayed out of trouble.

“I’m getting better then! Quicker delivery and less almost accidents.” Sapphire cheerfully said, causing Hunt to simply just look at her with an annoyed expression.

“Maybe you slow it down and there won’t be any almost accidents, or even accidents. One of these days someone will not take to kindly to having a drink spilled on them.” Hunt told her.

“It has been 3 days since a Sapphire accident Hunt. 3! I keep track of these things thank you very much.” Sapphire watched as the drink along with other drinks for other people were set down in front of her to deliver. She listened to her instructions and nodded. “I’ll show you I can handle this Hunt!” Sapphire told her wolf as she picked up the drinks and headed off into the crowded tavern to deliver the drinks.

Hunt shook his head and trotted back behind the bar, lying down and hoping to not hear any commotion caused by Saph.

Despite not wanting to go to Goldencrest, the demon annoyed and pushed her into going. So Rowyn had found herself within the group of hunters at the town that was massacred by the unknown. Walking through the town she had found herself talking to herself, or so it would seem to others if they had been paying attention to her, she was actually talking to the demon.

“What did this? Was it others like you?”

’Demons? Ha you think demons did this?. There isn’t enough blood and guts for a demon to have done this. Not enough torture either. A witch on the other hand… more likely.’

“A witch… hmm more likely multiple witches if it was.”

’Yeah yeah yeah. That’s not important. The important thing is what is around you. Look at it. It’s beautiful! Why don’t you do more stuff like this?’

Rowyn shook her head, disgusted by the idea. She didn’t even need to voice it to the demon, he knew that she wanted nothing to do with him or the things he liked but she was stuck with him. The rest of the time spent at Goldencrest was similar to that, the demon enjoying the view and Rowyn just numb to it and the demon’s disgusting thoughts and ideas as he spoke to her in her head.

By the time she made it back to Seren’s Folly part of her wanted to go sleep in her small home but currently the demon wasn’t shutting up so she headed to the tavern run by the man Bobby. She’d had a few conversations with him, he was friendly and helped point her in the right direction when she’d first arrived in the town years ago.

Upon entering the tavern, Rowyn surveyed the people there until her eyes landed on one with a red stained cloth bandage. Looking to the person’s face she noticed it was someone she regularly had to hunt down to help. Shaking her head, Rowyn tied her hair back and made her way to the man. As soon as he saw her and saw the stern look she was giving him, he simply undid his makeshift bandage to reveal his wound. It was a claw mark on his bicep, not too deep but deep enough it needed stitches.

Pulling over a chair besides where he sat, Rowyn placed her bag on it and took out her supplies. She placed a small bowl on the chair and poured clear alcohol like substance into it before pouring a bit over her hands to clean her hands. She then grabbed the other bowl she had and out of her other bottle, she poured the soapy water she carried around. Placing a cloth in the water she made sure it was wet enough before cleaning the wound. She then poured clean water over it to get out any soap and caught the water in the bowl. Taking out the needle and suture thread, her hands skillfully threaded the needle and then dunked it into the alcohol to sterilize it. Rowyn then used a cloth and dipped it in the sterile alcohol and cleaned the first part of the claw wound before stitching it up, repeating for all other sections. She cleaned the now stitched up wound with some water, placed an herbal remedy she had on it to help fight off infections, and finally wrapped it in a cleaner cloth bandage. The man handed her a small amount of coin, despite her trying to refuse it, and thanked her as she packed up her stuff. She carried the bowls outside and dumped them, wrapping all the dirty supplies in a separate bag that went into her bag before going back in and looking for others to help.
