Stella turned the scythe over and over in her hands, feeling the smooth handle in her hand, and traced the indents in the heft of it. She took step after step, even as her pup seemed to hide behind her, as if he sensed what was up ahead. Stella reached down and pet his head, to try to calm him as she heard the howling as well, and her steps started to go slower as her body tensed up. These howls didn't sound friendly and it clearly didn't fill Arbor with feelings of friendship and welcome.

As they walked up and saw the pack of Lycans, Stella tensed up, especially as he spoke. His voice sounded wrong. Everything about them was just wrong. She held Arbor close to her, and her eyes narrowed. He was clearly trying to get a rise out of Niah, and Stella could tell that this wasn't going well. He had done something to one of her friends. Was it the same friend that was gone? She didn't know. She couldn't ask now. All she could do was hold her scythe tighter and wait, and hope that this wouldn't turn to fighting. It probably would... but she could hope.

Stella could feel the tension in the air, the anticipation to get this quest over with. Some wanted to return to camp and be done with this, and some... well it was clear that Niah wanted to be with her friend. Stella couldn't blame her, not one bit. So, the young girl whistled for Arbor to join her, and the young pup dashed over to her side as Chocolate ran over to Andy's. She pet her wolf's ears lovingly and cuddled in close as they turned to head up the path.

She pulled out the scythe from her mother, turning it over in her hands for a moment, since she had a feeling that she would need it. They were going to where more monsters and the Giant was. Yes, they had a goddess on their side, but that didn't mean that the fight would be easy, or that they wouldn't expect one at all. She picked up her feet, taking step after step to follow the other demi-gods and her two older sisters up the mountain, leading her towards this fight.

Stella tried to listen to Marygold explain that they didn't know how big the Labyrinth really was. She really did try. She heard about the magic compass which did sound pretty handy. However so much was drowned out by what was happening around them, especially when she turned to see that the Iris call had cut off after that shock wave, and Arbor ran up to her and whined. She reached out softly and rubbed his head lovingly, as if to try to assure him that everything was fine once more, that the noise was gone.

She rubbed her own ears softly, groaning a bit as she recovered from the loud sounds, and then stood up and stretched. She heard Damon, (his name was Damon right?) say it was pretty clear if they wanted to move out. They still had their own quest they needed to complete, and she was itching to finish it. She was so close to home... to her dads. It hadn't even been a month since she had left their sides, but it still ached like a hole in her heart. Maybe if they finished they could see them. She could hug them and be reassured it would be alright in this world of myths and monsters.

Stella looked over at Chocolate and Arbor playing together for a moment and smiled softly, thankful for the moment of peace that she was able to witness. Despite the chaos that was going on around them, and she could tell that it was getting worse, this one moment was nice. Being out among nature, with two of her older sisters there, and her dog being able to be a dog for a bit. No monsters, no worries, no giants or titans just yet.

She turned back to Marygold, listening to her as the older girl told her about why the Sphinx had attacked, which made sense to Stella now that it was laid out, and then giggled as she said they were just too good at solving riddles. She was proud for her for that moment before she turned back to talking about people getting lost again.

"It stretches forever? Across the whole world? Woah. So... it's not like how it is in just the story anymore, huh? Wow." Stella looked up as she heard Damon ask if they should continue their quest, but then another sound rang out. It seemed to be coming from the call Niah was making... and it caused Stella to put her hands over her ears and wince. Arbor dropped to the ground as well and put his paws over his ears and wined a bit at that point.

The sadness seemed to cling to the air as Marygold told her it wasn't easy, and that it never got easier. Stella looked over at Andy, and she could tell that the two taking the loss hardest where the other young girl, and Niah. Niah, who was talking with her fellow Roman, and clearly needed this moment alone. Stella hadn't really experience loss like that before, so she didn't dare pretend she understand, and so she turned back to Marygold as her older sibling told her about what had happened in the Labyrinth.

"A real sphinx? Woah. And even when you solved its riddle it still attacked? That seems kinda mean and against the rules, doesn't it? And you found a lost camper? Do people get lost in the Labyrinth often?" Stella was now bristling with curiosity, so much so that she almost missed Andy's question, but thankfully, she caught it. "That sound like a good idea, since we're taking a small break. Go on boy, go ahead and play with Chocolate. Thanks." She gently nudged her puppy on, and watched as the wolf went off to go play with the other dog.

Stella reached down to gently pet Arbor, as the wolf was still a bit on edge from everything that had happened. If Stella was being honest with herself, she was still on edge herself. The fight had been intense and the reunion with the other campers had been less than happy in their case. It also seemed that while they still had a task ahead, it was time for a break so that Niah could make an Iris call and so that Andy could calm down a little.

When Marygold walked over to her, she offered her a small smile and looked up at her sister. "Well, I'm alright, I have a puppy now. This is Arbor, by the way. As for anything interesting..." Stella decided to tell Marygold a short version of what happened, about the cyclopses, the harpies, the basilisks, and now meeting up with Persephone in San Francisco. If there was anything she had left out, it hadn't been on purpose, it had been more for the sake of time. "What about you, aside from what... just happened. I am sorry about that by the way. That couldn't have been easy to watch."

Stella was glad that the fight was over, and the eagle was tied up on the ground, and it seemed that with Persephone's help it was even tighter than how she had left it. She sighed and went to check on Arbor, whom seemed happy that there were no more monsters threatening anyone that he considered his. She gently pet the pup and nuzzled him more a moment before looking around the group. It seemed that the other young girl... Andy, if she remembered right, was now getting comforted by her sister. Stella frowned as she watched the other girl and could tell there was really something deeply wrong.

She wanted to go comfort Marygold, but she was also aware that it might not be the moment, as she said that they might go make an Iris call. She decided to stash away her scythe, as it wasn't needed anymore, and she looked around at the now larger group. They probably needed to get a move on again, as there was still the giant and the other monsters, but maybe taking a break for five minutes wouldn't be a terrible thing. However she was afraid of asking for it aloud. What if that just invited more trouble upon them? What if the Eagle just got out and made itself their enemy again as they were in the middle of that break? No, best not to say anything just yet.

Something was wrong. Stella could see it in the way Andy and Mary were looking and from the way they both rushed over to Niah. She was trying to wrack her brain over what was going wrong when the large eagle swooped in and tried to attack her. She let out a screech and dropped and rolled away from the creature. It was large, ugly, and that beak. It looked curved, sinister and like it was ready to pluck something out. Something in the back of her young mind rang out, something about an eagle that would pluck out something in Greek mythology. The moment for trying to remember Greek mythology was not this moment, as the eagle seemed determined to grab the young girl and drag her into the sky and away from her friends and family.

Stella grabbed at the sickle from her mother and focused on the plants around her. They were out in nature again, instead of a moving metal box. She could use her mother's gifts again. She willed them to move, reaching up for the bird and drag him down to the ground. The first connection was weak, some light vines wrapping around and grasping at the eagle and making it so it was tangled, but it wouldn't last. Stella could tell as much. So she gripped the sickle tighter and focused more and the vines and plants ensnared the creature tighter, thorns snagging in to keep it from becoming air bound again.

When Stella heard that other mythologies existed, she was about ready to burst to the brim with questions. She had heard her otou-san mention some of the gods from his homeland before, and the spirits from there. Where they real? Did Amaterasu exist? What about creatures like Kappa and tengu? As she was going to open her mouth to ask her curious questions anything she said was cut off by the loud cry of what sounded like an eagle. She had seen them before, and knew some lived in California, but it didn't sound right. Then Persephone said that they should head for cover, and Stella looked up to see Harpies. They were... not pretty like she had seen in books before. They looked like ugly birds with human heads in some cases, and not in a good way.

As they shuffled over to the public restroom to hide, Stella spotted two familiar faces with one very unfamiliar one. "That's Marygold and Andy!" She was rather shocked to see them, as they had been sent into the Laybrinth right? With one of Niah's Roman friends? But where was she? And who was the new face with them? Could they trust them? "Over here! We need to take shelter!" She waved to her other older sister, hoping that she caught her attention.

Stella went a bit quiet as Niah spoke, asking more questions about her sister. An older sister that she had lost, and whom should be with Stella's older sister's husband, but it seemed that she wasn't. She was in some other place... Valhalla. She swore she had heard that name before, but she wasn't sure where. Maybe in some of her dad's metal songs? Maybe in a random story she had heard else where? It wasn't Greek, that was for sure. She was glad that Niah was getting some answers it seemed, after having them for so long.

Once the taxi parked at the trailhead, she gently escorted Arbor out and made sure that he was clipped into his leash. She didn't want him to run off and into some monsters, as it seemed that the mountain was doomed to be covered in them. She thanked the taxi driver and watched to make sure hew as paid by one of them before he drove off. "I'm ready if everyone else is. If we need a moment I don't mind waiting until we're all ready."
