Current I am Klomster, i have no status.

Bio

Known primarily as Klomster, both on the net and on real life.

I really enjoy roleplaying and do so every weak, preferably twice in two different campaigns. Sometimes even more.

From time to time i've done some forum roleplaying with mixed success. I've tried GM-ing with even more mixed success and all in all, i find forum rp's enjoyable. Hence why i joined, hoping to play some forum rp's and OWN at it. (Or something.)

I have an erratic thought pattern so my posts can appear as incoherent, if you notice you can just mention it if i should clarify anything.
Other than that, hey there fellas.

@NecroesI forgot and was reminded that Cadians would have a higher knowledge of chaos marines.
As for other regiments, it's at best a need to know basis.
Usually worse.
Since the imperium focuses more on morale than fighting effectiveness. Since if we can uphold that the guard is a very promising career prospect, we can get many volunteers to serve.
The more people know of the horrors of the galaxy, the less they are likely to volunteer.
Since if people are forced, they are less likely to fight well for the imperium than if they think that serving will be awesome and easy.

Of course there are also worlds where this doesn't apply, like Cadia.
Where war is taught from the moment one can walk, where hating your enemy is a class in school.

And the part with the imperial guard being transported since they are not the same as the navy because of the treaty after the rebellion of Goge Vandire. All true.
They are however primarily transported in troop transports. Since they are the ones designed for mass troop transport.

Since it is usually the best solution to have custom designed troop transports for that purpose.
Star wars being a setting which goes the opposite direction, but i don't recall other ones right now.
@Necroes plus the crew of the sloop is about 7500.
And it's less than a kilometer long.

As for ships being able to hold tanks.
Sure, if they are however, nah.
The warships are usually mostly warships, the imperium often have troop transports for ferrying guards.
Space marine vessels are different, but they are space marines.
In BFG, mechanicus even had a special rule they had very little troops on board, so they got a penalty on boarding actions.
So tanks are usually not on navy vessels. Since they are completely different military arms of the imperium.

As for guardsmen getting the information they need.
Have you seen the imperial infantryman's uplifting primer? How to fight an ork mega armoured nob?
"Just shoot it in the head and it will drop dead in an instant."
Genestealers.
"Genestealers have puny claws and move slowly."

It is that kind of downright lies the imperium tell about its enemies, when they even tell of them at all.
Guardsmen who know of chaos space marines have learned about them from facing them.
Sure, Vespin might have faced CSM's and lived. Being a sniper helps there.

And the imperium doesn't always mind wipe people who know of chaos.
But chaos and the warp is actually far from common knowledge in the imperium. If someone mentioned Khorne to someone, they'd probably have no idea who or what you were talking off.
@Necroes It's worth noting that the "Chaos cultist looking guy" doesn't actually look that much like a Chaos cultist. I'm also not sure how somebody in Vespin's position knows so much about Chaos, considering how stringent the Imperium is on killing most who learn about that sort of thing, whether or not they're officers.

I second that.
Knowing an awful lot about the alpha legion.

Anyway.
I'm not saying that if there was a cadian armoured company on this ship, there wouldn't be tanks.
I'm saying this ship is too small to transport a tank company, or any notable amount of troops.

Sure, evidently there has been some guard troops attached as extra security. Probably since the sloop was expected to go into combat, so they made sure some extra men were given to this ship.
However, seeing as this is a weedy and unimportant ship, it mostly had to make do with abhumans. Ie ratlings.
Which the ship hasn't complained all too much about, after all, more nice food is always nice.

It's up to JB, but this size of ship wouldn't fit any tank groups at all. It would barely fit transporting troops at all.
It can have some extra guys, a couple of dozen of guardsmen from f'ex cadia stationed here to beef up the security. But any large amount of troops would not fit on the ship, since it lacks a lot of compartments.

From a wiki.
"Given its specialist role, the Viper is unsurprisingly limited in many ways. It is a tiny starship, with very restricted space for additional components. Furthermore, it is not heavily armed, as extensive weapon batteries would draw vital power from the sensor arrays and engines. They are rare vessels in the Calixis Sector and are not ideal vessels for Rogue Traders, given their highly specialised nature. However, more enterprising and wealthy Rogue Trader dynasties will often employ a Viper as part of a larger fleet, leapfrogging ahead of the main force to rapidly establish the nature of each planetary system encountered."

Restricted space for additional components. IE cargo space.

Anyway, i'd say it's up to Gm. After all i don't recall being told what is on the vessel in terms of troops, which is fair since we're going in not knowing what is on the vessel.
So why should we know what is on the vessel.
Although, the ratling being from ship will know what is on the vessel, so JB should have told you necroes.

Anyway, i'm hacking some ship systems.
Lalala, beep beep boop, i'm helping and not knowing what is going on in the armoury :D
@Necroes Thing is that might be true for a capitol ship. And troop transport ships would of course have tanks.

But this ship in particular is a sloop, it doesn't have the massed cargo space of other navy vessels. And thus would not have entire tank companies.
I'd say it has no troops whatsoever apart from the boarding defence and the security force (which mostly are the same dudes anyway.)
So on a cruiser, sure, there might be a tank or two.
Troop transport, probs rows of tanks.
Scout sloop..... naaah.

As i said, probs a light scout vehicle one can send down in a lighter, nothing big.
After all, why bring loads of troops in the light scout vessel? It's not supposed to be doing large planetary assaults.

Why would there be tanks anyway? In the ships armoury? The ship crew don't need tanks. It's probably mostly rows upon rows of ironclaw shotguns. And some boarding armours, heavy front, little back. Perhaps some flak shields as well.

And some random junk, it's an imperial vessel after all. Probs a bunch of melta paste, a bunch of plasma torches, some heavy stubbers. Because heavy stubbers are everywhere. Perhaps an autocannon or two... well, at least one as proven IC.
Might even be a meltagun in there.
But mostly ironclaws, this is a scout sloop after all. Top priority on this ship is sensors and jump drive, boarding gear is probably mostly "meh, here's some leftovers" and then the crew loot or otherwise get hold of some random guns.

What you need the tank for?
The marine had an interesting idea. One he had no qualms about doing.
So Zuriel walked off and disappeared around the doorway he entered from and went out from sight from the others.

There he searched for an cogitator system access and workstation, which was reasonably close by. Walked over to it and began to work its systems.
A pair of crewmen walked by, giving the lurid techpriest some odd looks but then thought nothing more of it. After all, regular crew don't usually keep track of the techies, and the techies could very well change appearance and bionics between each time they saw them for all they know. On top of that they are performing weird ritual with their oh so sacred technology that the crew mostly had little idea of how it works.
So they had no idea that Zuriel was rerouting control to a new user he was establishing, hidden of course, which could easily override the main controls of the sections Lucius mentioned. At least temporary, temporary being probably an hour or so at least. System security being something that was usually woefully under specifications and seldom of any real quality unless actively attacked or on a system with high importance like a navy capitol ship or important hive cluster or something in the arsenal of the adeptus mechanicus.
This being barely an escort vessel, with few personnel who would be even aware such a system existed and the modifications being made from within the correct mechanicum parameters. This one would be hard to spot.

He prepared a simple activation word, titanhammer, which would switch door controls to him when he called for it.

Tanks? On a vessel of this size?

A pair of salamanders, or some other scout vehicle at most. I'm not seeing tanks as reasonable however.
Autocannon however can logically end up here, no worries.

I'm gonna hack stuff.
The far north east, the Concillo union, land of the downtrodden outside its most northern fortress Norsal an old enemy moved once again.
For the last five years the region had been unusually calm, after that massive firework in the sky and the battle for the triskellion, no one had made any real ventures into the former empire of Zul, the realm falling apart after its vaunted lord was vanquished by his successor, Kraam.

The task had been more difficult than he imagined, who knew there was such a thing as logistics? He had heard Zul mention it, sure, but to do it himself was a whole different thing entirely.
The massive fir forests of the lands covered in a layer of heavy snow, the sun shining on the forest making it shimmer lightly. Unusually mild for the region.
That was to change very soon.

For Kraam had not been idle the last five years, the bloodied had lost many in the battle of triskellion, and even more in the ritual that followed. A lot of the time had went into going to tribes of minotaurs, to bring them the news of Zul's death and to ask them to send warriors to join the bloodied. The first time in their histories someone had asked.
Usually forced or expected to, if warriors were not given, they were taken. Something Kraam wished to change.
Luckily for him, the minotaurs of the empire were warlike in their nature, many wanting power and thus, willingly joined the bloodied horde.
The bloodied now numbering over two hundred thousand warriors, most of them cursed minotaurs with massive cleavers. First one, then two, then dozens followed by hundreds began to walk out from the forest tree line, forming a sea of warriors that just kept on coming. They marched with lazy but typical heavy footfalls.

A roar echoed from the forest, a purple lightning bolt going into the cloudless sky and seemingly impacting on nothing, the energy of the bolt formed a dark cloud, which expanded and began to swirl. It grew rapidly and the roiling dark clouds signaled the arrival of the bloodied as they reached over the fortress of Norsal. The defenders inside scurrying to prepare for something, this was highly unusual and many had never seen anything like it.
The entire region now covered in a swirling dark sky with lightning which danced across its uneven forms as some of it shot down and struck trees, buildings and towers.
As a great thunder echoed over the region, the entire bloodied host began to chant in unison.
Kraam, Kraam, KRAAM KRAAM KRAAM!!!!

Another massive thunder roiled, with a lightning strike cleaving the biggest tree outside the Norsal fortress. Falling in two parts to either side, bearing its splintered innards.
And with that, the rain began.
As the defenders realized, many were horrified, some were simply spooked. As the sky rained blood which congealed on the ground and everywhere it landed. Forming pools of stinking red goo.
The chanting now turned into a crescendo as the form of Kraam came out of the tree-line. Clad in blackened steel armour, wearing the red fists of Zul, wielding a massive black and red enchanted battleaxe in his right hand as he marched with motive and direction through his army which parted ways in from of him giving him and his elite bodyguard room.
He stopped on top of a massive boulder and basked in the chanting for a while until he slammed the butt of his axe into the rock with a strike which echoed through the area.
The entire war host became silent. Until Kraam spoke with a voice that boomed like the thunder above and could easily be heard for several miles.
-"I am the lord of the bloodied, manifest god of this land. I am KRAAM, god-eater foe-hammer!" This was followed by a massive roar of the bloodied. Ending only when Kraam struck the rock with the axe again with such force it cracked beneath it.

-"Your puny fortress is nothing against the bloodied war host! It is simple, give me all the loot and food in the fortress, and you live. Or we take it and sacrifice you all... to ME!" Kraam followed the last word with a roar which the entire host joined in on. The thunder in the sky seemingly also joining in and lightning rained from the heavens.

Now the answer awaits.
Right, i was just a bit questioning because some people said they were going to have a discussion about my character.
So, should i make a post?
Just a lore detail.

There won't be any las weapons in the ship armoury. Lasguns can have unexpected effects if hitting the power generators, therefore it is common practise to not even bring lasweapons unto ships.

But there will probably be a bunch of autoguns.
And probably some voidsuits, some spare uniforms. We can probably find some nice shirts for the boys to cover up/exchange the coveralls.

It will be fiiiine.
