The Shadow's Rising

Plot:
The world is innocent, blissfully unaware of the darkness looming on the horizon. The Five Pillars of the world, the five kingdoms of Ulset, Amaranth, Belian, Mardoth, and Tzarian have been at peace these long years, the last of the great wars ending nearly five hundred years ago, and the reasons almost all but forgotten. Small feuds still erupt, noble houses warring with one another over trivial things like land, and wealth, but all in all, the peace has held. But the stories remain. Children are raised with common bed time tales of war between nations. Of battle fields littered with the dead as far as the eye can see. Of a broken land, burnt by magic’s flame, the ground rent, the soul of the world torn and bleeding from the veins of it’s people as the green of the ground is stained crimson and forever tainted. Man kind had, at one point, stood on the brink of destruction, but stepped back from that ledge. It is not to say that people do not harm each other, that armies no longer collide, that war has lost itself amongst this world: only that the great wars have stopped.

In the Ironwood, a forested region nestled in the south of Belian, lies the small town of Doman’s Crossing. A community of farmers and villagers, a small, back water place where the old blood sings, and the touch of Belian’s King has been long since felt. A part of the kingdom, but only by lines on a map. No tax collectors have been seen in Belian in nearly a generation, nearly two since any of the King’s guard have come.. They belong, and yet, they have been forgotten. In forgotten Doman’s Crossing, a shadow manifests itself dark against the night, a crow flies against the full moon, and the Eldest dies in prayer. Under three omens is the baby born… and the world turn on.

Sixteen years have passed, and the world has changed much. Tensions are high. The world is on the brink of another war. There is whisper of treachery, deceit. Unrest covers the land, dims the light. The shadow grows bolder… They say HE rises again.

Oh, I don't mean to imply an issue, there is none. I realize the story can handle more than one. I was simply proceeding to create my character under the need for a healer. Now that that niche is filled, I feel more comfortable falling back to an earlier desired character idea. I'm much happier letting someone else be the WM in this game.

Great, I've gotta familiarize myself with everyone's place in collide. It has been a while since we cooked that storyline up, but I love the touch of the occult in it.

Ash! I am familiar with it, I have been cyber-stalking it for months now. I would love to get into it. It sounds like such a cool and fun idea. Final Fantasy is a passion of mine.
