You can write for 20 years and still have nagging self-doubt. It'll be ok, just enjoy the process. At least that's the story I tell myself.

Hoping to have the OOC up this weekend, just a bit rusty on writing this way, figuring out what info I need to share and what to keep in my pocket lol.
@Senhara

If it's any consolation, I'm a slow poster and don't expect this to zip along. I may lose several along the way but it fits me better than trying to blast out posts quickly.
@Squashedquatch
Ofc! I don't have a set number atm so we'll see who follows up on their initial interest and those that decide it's not for them.
After some consideration, I'm saying fuck it and rolling with Houston as it'll maybe exist in 2051. I understand some people aren't keen on that location but I've seen, first hand, how much an area can change in a very short time especially when considering more extreme event and that this fictional Houston of the future may bear very little resemblance to the Houston of now in the same way that Los Angeles in Blade Runner bears zero resemblance to the real thing. That said, I'm working on the OOC now.

Yeah, how about that? It wasn't in my plans, but it turned out pretty well! Always nice with positive surprises.

Excited for this to take a dramatically Umbrella Corp direction XD

DAY 1 《》 STEELWATER [PRS] 《》 Afternoon 《》 @Krash

▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇
The camera in the room panned and zoomed as needed watching the situation develop as these things, somewhere between human and Stigma, gathered around the medic named Amy and tore into her. It was an animalistic scratching, beating, biting; like any way to cause damage to her as screams rang out. Virus focused the camera on her as best as he could, taking care to record the material as well as angles of the infected humans. Someone up above would want to see this… and they’d want to study the Medic is she somehow survived this. Virus watched the scene play out like a movie, it was detached. He knew it was real from a logical sense but the difference in viewing something through digital lenses seemed to alter the reality, it was a filter that let him separate from whatever was happening and dehumanize whoever was being affected. It was better for the job but it felt like there were two of him, one that could empathize with in person tragedies and one that could just watch, emotionless.

Virus watched members of SWARG enter and focused on how the infected humans perceived and responded to new threats and how they responded to lethal force. They weren’t as resilient as an Aeon but… they didn’t seem as frail as a baseline human either… reminded him of some blacktag things the UDF did trying to force spirits to bond to humans that resulted in something less than desirable. Virus wondered at what the cause might be. Would there be more of them between SWARG and Bahamut? Could they also further mutate into more vicious variants the same way Stigma do? There were so many potential questions now.

Virus continued recording as the last of the infected fell and focused on Amy now with half-a-mind about her, Errikos hoped she simply died so she could be free and Virus hoped she survived for research… He thought of his own body now laying by the entrance to the facility. What might happen to it if more were there. He sent a flicker of consciousness through the maze of logic and wires until he found Errikos, laying still, unmolested. He flashed back the treatment room and pierced into the local speaker. “The medic, stabilize the medic!” There was urgency in the otherwise calm tone he used. Virus tasked the camera to continue tracking Amy directly, and finally jumped into the exterior security system and took note of its stance making sure it was both active and tracking with a corresponding alarm attached to movement. With that he was back in his own body.

Errikos’ eyes opened slowly, as usual it felt like waking up from a nap, light disorientation as his fleshy body reacclimated. The room was red with flashing yellow lights, like the rest of the facility, yet it was empty as the SWARG members had charged off towards the treatment room. Errikos stood up slowly hearing the faint thud of his own boots against the hard plastile floor in isolation from outside noise and the jingling noise of his own gear as he stood up; the faint sound of artillery strikes like thunder now, especially when coupled with the rain falling on the dome itself. His head wasn’t ringing as much now, courtesy of the natural resilience an Aeon possessed. Errikos took stock of his body now and realized any wounds he might have had were now superficial at worst and that mostly it was dirt and charring that marred his appearance and made his way towards the treatment room.

Post Summary
Errikos mused philosophical… again, and recorded the zombies as well as Amy. Took note of the external security posture of the facility, set an external alarm if there wasn't already one, then jumped back to his body and went to the treatment room.

Plastile - a hastily deployed flooring made of plastic to mimic tile. It's notable for being both durable, affordable, and generally hygienic.

@BangoSkank All Cyberpunk is post apoc in some way, I'm just trying to focus more on it I guess. Also that character concept is completely fine, I'll try to weave you all across each other's paths as things progress. Meanwhile, I got a job thing this weekend so no OP. Maybe during the week/next weekend at the latest, fingers crossed.
The PFPs for ppl and their PCs keep changing I keep thinking there's new people >_>
@False Prophet@Gisk

You're not wrong. I still like the core idea of Houston but to get away from the problems associated with differing beliefs on the future of a city I'm moving away from it to a completely fictional location which will brutally plagiarize the limited scope of what I imagine Houston to look like in 20 years following multiple climate disasters that are being exploited for continued profits.

Prophet, our understandings of the night life are very similar and I honestly feel like the sprawl would still work. If anything it integrates with my idea as more buildings simply fill the expanse of suburban sprawl that needs to be rebuilt following fictional Hurricane Whitney and the downtown core becomes something of a corp sector, hardened and heavily policed.
@Gisk I def want to check the show and am not against the violence at all. I just wanted more from the game lol.

On an unrelated note I'll be working on the OC, and updating the lore bits a bit. Tbh I like the location as it's forming in my mind but it will no longer take place in Houston but in a fictional location allowing for people to break from their preconceptions on the location and help in developing the world a bit more uniquely.

I would say I'm aiming for the weekend but I still feel like crap from whatever non-Covid virus got me so we'll see.
