Bio

So, a bit about me then: First and foremost, I love to try and create imaginative and creative scenarios, that (I hope) push the very limits of reason and conventional thought. When I RP (mostly in NRPs) I aim to play powerful and big, things that are on the very edge of OP (I usually give my faction a ridiculous disadvantage though, to keep it fair). In other RPs, I tend towards Science Fiction and Modern Fantasy, playing side characters with some interesting quirks to them. I am also keen on trying some Arena RPing, when I get better at writing. Other things about me are that I work as a Mental Health Nurse (who would've guessed), and enjoy gaming and drawing as well. I also play trumpet on the side. I have a rough schedule, so I disappear for a couple of days sometimes. But never assume I am dropping out, I will tell you if I am thinking of it (unless it's really serious).

New Condia

Enemy Shells were effortlessly reflected and absorbed by the Ethereal's shields on all ships, and their confidence grew as their enemy seemed to be no threat whatsoever. But then, an unknown energy weapon was fired in their direction, fueled by mysterious power they had not seen in thousands of years, and ripped through the first cruiser's shields with ease. The beam, by a wildly lucky shot, struck a critical joint between a shield plate and the main hull, severing the connection with the resultant explosion and sending the plate spinning into the planet below. The ship made a eerie howling screech that was lost to the void of space, and moved backwards, trying to reconfigure it's defenses to cover the new vulnerability. Several systems were also damaged in the blast, and the ship appeared to be hanging on by a thread, lights flickering and movements sluggish.

Hundreds of the prepped Matrons fled the dying ship, making a bee line to the planet's surface in an attempt to draw and confuse the enemy's fire, ignoring the Stations entirely. Covered by the other two Cruisers, some of the other attack craft also engaged the ship, firing Tunneler missiles into the shield and slowly weakening them. The Conduit ship, meanwhile, redoubled it's efforts to make contact with the Home Fleet, to warn them of these bizarre creatures and their terrifyingly unknown weapons. The unharmed Cruisers returned fire, falling back slightly and launching a dozen Void Field warheads at two other Stations. It would appear that they were evenly matched, at least until the others came to crush them.
Home Fleet, The Void Expanse

The requests from the Scout Fleet reached the Overseer Commune, who promptly sought the guidance of the Queen on these sentients and their 'Magic'. She listened, in silence, before giving their orders:

Then it is true, there may be Souls still left, even after the Collapse...
Send the Black fleet, and bring as many of these creatures as you can back alive...
Once purged and captured, search the surface for the next Shard Guide...
Then glass it into oblivion, and show them I am their Master, and even their Gods cannot save them...
By the way, Sukui, have to pm you at some point ^^
I'm still here. Gonna go all super sneaky on some rebel scum ^^
Day one of the invasion of New Condia

As they approached the scenic world from inter planetary space, each cruiser registered various orbital platforms that were most likely defensive in nature, as well as critical ferry supplies from orbit to surface. Each one was targeted as priority one objectives, and the Ethereal ships began to accelerate towards the structures. All except one, which stayed behind to monitor the battle and request reinforcements. They would learn much from this first encounter, and weren't ready to take chances, though there was no way to know exactly how long it would take for other ships to arrive, nor how many would be cleared to support the invasion. For now, all this cruiser could do was fortify it's position, and await for further orders.

To further protect itself. the support cruiser released dozens of Matrons especially outfitted to form a 'minefield' of sorts. Each one took a random position around the beacon ship, and extended it's panels to orbit fifty to one hundred feet from the center body of the Constructs. Then, each one activated it's equipped singularity field, and created specialized micro gravity wells to intercept incoming ballistic missile weaponry, which would detonate or be slingshot off course. While perfect coverage was not possible, it would help intercept any kinetic or physical weaponry from damaging the Conduit Ship, critical to the attack.

As this was happening, the other three cruisers had approached at top speed, ignoring the organic's communication hails as they extended three shield like plates over the front of the ships, which shifted color from silver to black, forming super ablative reaction armor to withstand any energy weapon hits. These plates utilized entropy resistant materials to boil off damage, protecting core systems and increasing the effectiveness of their shields. Combined, the cruiser could prevent any damage whatsoever, but only to the front. The plates could move slowly to cover the flanks or rear if need be, but that would take time to do. Ethereal military doctrine is to keep your ship facing towards the enemy and strafe to maintain this position.

Finally, hundreds of Matrons were prepped for deployment on each ship, fitted with Sisters to drop off, heavy anti vehicular and infantry weapons and various tactical sensors for increased battlefield awareness. Once past the stations, the Cruisers would jettison their cargo to begin ground operations. But that would require the elimination of the orbital defenses, of which could put up a fight. Once within four kilometers, the lead cruiser charged it's Mass Entropy cannon as they all slowed to a halt. Yellow wisps of energy orbited and swirled around the central 'eye' of the cruiser for almost 30 seconds, as it glowed brighter and brighter, before firing the deadly beam directly at the nearest structure and initiating the conflict.
No, that makes sense. Ethereals have no concept of magic, and as such no real defended against it. You're in the fine :3

And they are spiritual essences, so they do give off magical signatures
So, duck, are your stations detecting my ships? Just want to clarify... If so, I will have a response when I get back from work. Just so every one knows, I'm a nurse, hence why I never get time to post :S
Sorry bout not posting last night, I was unexpectedly surprised with a movie by my partner :D in terms of getting the story of my Nation moving, expect to see a lot more activity in your frontier sectors soon ^*
Not to my knowledge. Though it wouldn't be a bad idea me thinks

This duck person really seems to be abusing power. Is the OP still around? By the way, Kyelin, I am asking because I hope the first encounter with the Esurienti can be peaceful. They are built for war but war isn't their goal.

Unfortunately, the Gathering is largely hostile or at least indifferent of the other races. They, at best, will form a temporary alliance with those they can use.
Have to get back to work, talk to you all later. Will post tonight ^^
