Xanthippe & Beau
Xandy Dimitriou & Beau Jackson
Collaboration of @Kyrisse & @BlackPanther, Interacting with @Zoravia Doe
Xandy was enjoying the sound of the sea and the peace when she heard footsteps. Not the human kind. She tilted her head and looked towards the direction it was coming from. She saw a beautiful black and white dog trotting towards her. A smile crossed her lips when she saw it settle down by her and wagged its tail. "Hey there," she greeted. "Are you lost?"
Beau shook his head in response to the woman and let out a soft woof. It had took him awhile to figure out how to actually sound like a dog, but he was glad he did. Especially since he had to blend in with regular people. His head tilted the other direction and his nose wiggled as he inhaled her scent.
Xandy reached out and gently patted the dog's head. "Strange. Somehow I think you understand what I'm saying," she leaned forward and looked into the dog's brown eyes. After a few minutes, she pulled back, shaking her head at her silly thoughts. "Sorry sorry. Been cooped up in medical school too long I must sound crazy. Anyway, my name's Annika Xandra. Xandy for short. I wonder what your name is," she continued conversing with her new companion while she looked around for any sign of its owner.
Beau seemed to smile and decided to test this woman. He woofed again before shifting as close as he could to her. "My name is Beau" his ears now swiveled at any noises being cautious. After all of any others besides the guardians and the 6 found out about him he would probably be sent to be studied like a lab rat....that is if the freak show didn't grab him first. His eyes studied her as he waited for a reaction.
Xandy looked down at the dog. A look of confusion crossed her face. "Beau?" She reached up and scratched the back of her head. "Yeah, yeah... Audrey was right. I should have taken a vacation earlier. I think I'm really going insane... I'm hearing things now. I mean, yeah, Beau is a perfectly good name for you... It actually suits you, strange as it may sound. But... audio hallucinations... Ugh. Too much studying maybe. I should have brought Audrey along."
Beau shook his head. She wasn't lashing out sure, but she did think she was insane. "No you're not insane. I really am speaking" his tail wagged somewhat before he looked at her again. His brown eyes seemed to try to help convince her. Times like these had him wishing he had different colored eyes. Eyes that would show more clearly the person trapped within.
Xandy stared at the dog and blinked. For several minutes she was silent and then she exhaled forcefully. "Oh my God. I must have really gone insane... But seriously? You can talk? I'm not imagining it?" she asked. She was about to say something when another dog came bounding towards them. This one was cream colored and obviously ecstatic to see them. "Hey, another one," she said, laughing at how energetic the newcomer was. "I don't suppose you can talk too, can you?" she asked, waited for a few minutes and then when no answer came, bursted out laughing. She turned back to the black dog. "So, how long have you been able to talk?" she continued the conversation as if it was the most normal thing in the world to do.
Beau nodded before he turned in time to see the extremely energetic dog bounce all over. He didn't seem to know quite what to do with the situation and kept moving around the dog. A very non dog behavior. He looked at Xandy and seemed to lose himself in a memory for a moment. "As a dog....four years" an odd way to phrase that.He didn't have much time to say anything else as that dog came back and tried to play. He didn't seem able to interact correctly with it.
"Four years. Wow. That must suck. Was it---Ack!" Xandy's words were cut off as the energetic god jumped on her and brought her crashing down with it. She laughed. "You sure are energetic, girl. Where's your owner?" she asked, laughed again when the dog licked her face and then turned to Beau. "Was it Magis--- er... a curse or something?"
Beau certainly hadn't expected to tell her so much so soon. But...something made him trust her. A sort of gut instinct as he slowly nodded. "Yes" he studied her as he tried to figure her out. Was she one of the six? What if she was a witch tricking him. He did not know so he would have to tread carefully.
Xandy made a face. "Can't say I envy you. Although I wonder what you look like as a human..." she paused. "You ARE a human in there, right?"
Beau snorted. He honestly wouldn't wish his situation on anyone. He looked back at her and seemed to smile. "No I'm actually a dragon" he tilted his head and continued to avoid the hyper dog. "Yea I am a human in here."
She chuckled. "Well, I'm glad to hear that and I'm looking forward to seeing you in your human form," she laughed as the female dog began licking at her face again, obviously asking for attention.
