>Demetra is an empath

that poor girl is gonna get overloaded if she runs into the Schwarzes

I was sort of saving meltdown for when she ran into Shiro but that seems to be an impossibility at present.
...Oswald is stuck in some sort of limbo, so...maybe?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sapphire Rode and Demetra Rode - Corridor

Sapphire was surprised for a moment. Cobalt was dropping out? She didn't know him all that well, in fact she couldn't really bring to mind a solid conversation they'd had, but he'd always been (as far as Sapphire had seen) dedicated to his studies. Then given how Codex's last mission had turned out maybe he'd lost hope that he could do any good. Half their team had almost died after all. Sapphire was shaken from this train of thought by Oswald's response to Demetra.

Sapphire wasn't sure how to respond but she felt she should say something. She hadn't after all been telling her family all about Oswald's failure. "I didn't..." but she broke off. Demetra's ability was hers to share if she chose. It caused many people to drift away from her, not wanting their feelings revealed. If Demetra wanted to keep a low profile the least Sapphire take a blow for her, claim she'd been telling her family a lot more than she had.

"She didn't have to." the little girl said quietly.

"Demetra." Sapphire said in a worried tone.

"It's fine Saph, he'll be at your side long after this. Secrets do nothing but pull people apart." She turned to look at Oswald. "I have a rather unusual semblance. I am an empath, I feel the emotions of others as if they were my own." Sapphire knew there was a more clinical definition of what Demetra could do, something to do ambient aura left behind by people and how one's emotional state could effect its composition. It wasn't Sapphire's area of expertise and wouldn't have added much to the conversation had she brought it up.

Sapphire watched Oswald's face in the reflect from the glass of one of the transparent walkways between buildings they'd just entered, searching for any sign that this disturbed him, hoping that he wouldn't say anything to make her sister feel worse about something that already gave her so much trouble.

And, you know, the canon characters just being in anyone interacting with them's hands will be chaotic as hell, and while Ozpin's schizoid ass may be able to pull it off, other characters such as Glynda or Big Papa Ironwood need the stability of characterization and motive to really stay in one piece.

There was an RP I was apart of which unfortunately moved to another site during that time when the guild was going down every hour or so.

In this RP relevant NPCs were cataloged and each class rating. Red Classed NPCs were controlled solely by one person because while they weren't there all the time they were important enough to have to be consistent when they were present. Yellow Classed NPCs were primarily controlled by one person but for minor interactions or in situations were necessary they could be controlled by others. Green Classed NPCs could be controlled by anyone that needed them.

Given we don't have as many NPCs as that RP did we probably don't need go overboard with keeping track of the NPCs but a system similar to this wouldn't be a bad idea to keep the important NPCs functioning properly.
@Lucius Cypher I know my voice is probably that last anyone wants to hear on this discussion (again) but I think the main problem was that you created a character at the better levels of what was possible in RWBY, not the best or most terrifying but solidly ranked in power level. The rest of us sort of applied basic laws of physics and reality to the RWBYverse and based on a significantly reduced power scale created our own characters. I'm not saying that was bad or even in most cases intentional, just watch one of the RWBY fights and look at the ways, distances and powers they move with. When creating a character most of us forget that at our current training level jumped ten feet into the air would be easy and so forth. So you created a solid mid range character under RWBY's normal power levels, we all created solid mid range characters under the power levels of a general high school animeesque fantasy setting. It's sort of like putting down Yugio cards in a Pokemon card game, one by nature of being simply outclasses the other. On top of that because you'd created Gren under normal RWBY laws there wasn't really a solid way to argue with anything about his design. It's really a question of balancing more than anything else. The real problem is that at this stage there isn't really any concrete way of fixing it that doesn't gut Gren to the point he isn't the same character or require the rest of the group to do some serious reworking (which would very likely result in their characters becoming unrecognizable along the opposite path).

As I'm writing this I'm realizing there wasn't really a solution anywhere in there, more just a summary of the conflict up to this point.

To the real issue that we've sort of skirted away from, the continued existence of Heroes of Beacon. I am still very much interested in this. (@Multi_Media_Man I'll see about getting a post up in the next day or two, so sorry about the long wait, again.) The real problem with the RP is unfortunately in it's design. In order to keep momentum most of the time it requires groups of four or more to be active at the same time. When even one person has something else they must deal with an entire section grinds to a halt.

I don't really have a solution for that. The best thing I can say is that I really enjoy this RP, I love my character and will go along with whatever actions the group wants to take to keep HoB alive. Be it a reboot, recruitment, new GM/CoGMs, whatever. I have my own opinions on some of those until a discussion that gets into specifics starts I think a vaguely aimed rant from me wouldn't be the most helpful of things. Whatever needs to be done to keep our group together I'm willing to try.
I envy you. Mine start in 2 weeks, and I'm already overwhelmed with work. Seems they stuff these last weeks with every homework and project imaginable.

Then they test you on the material they forgot to teach in class.
Oh shit, I didn't even notice that feature yet. I guess now you can just jump to any page you want without having to keep pressing the next and previous buttons.

I always just changed the number in the URL. It worked basically the same way.
people not in BASL or JCBL or VGGB where you at

Sapphire, Oswald and Sapphire's little sister Demetra are walking down a corridor on route to the race.
Yeah two paragraphs is really shitty considering that I haven't posted in a month, but there it is. To be honest, I kinda thought Beacon had died. Activity has slowed to a crawl.

@Guess Who That is beautiful.

Wouldn't work on me though, I'm the kind of girl that would rather see it because of the original adverting.
