Cooper ran out too, following Max but not quite catching up to him. She looked back to the rest of her friends and gesturing for them to follow her. The silence from the crowd was replaced with disapproving murmurs from those around them.
Cooper looked at Maxwell. She felt terribly for him; she knew his family would disown him over this. Her heart felt as though it was trying to crawl up her throat and choke her with tears as she thought about it. The silence of the crowd was deafening, it drove her mad how low these people thought of a fellow human being. She was exactly as proud of Max as she was of all her other friends. They had all worked hard, and no job was truly lesser or greater than any other. Cooper couldn't bear it, and she stood up straight from her seat and started to clap for her friend. Slow and steady, but loud and proud. Tears streamed down her face, catching on the corners of her upturned lips as she smiled for Max.
@KatherinWinter@LTDarksin Ivy shrugged. "Fair enough." She said. She stuck out her hand to shake with Roxy, trying her best to hide the reservations she still had about her. "I'm Ivy, Ivy Calloway." Ivy wanted to work with Roxy, but even more, she wanted to be on her good side. She knew very well how risky it was being the craziest or most dangerous person in a group, but how beneficial it could be to make friends with whoever was. Not to say she was being disingenuous; she did want to get along with everyone, but she was thinking of herself first and foremost. She made a point to glance back at David, trying to silently communicate that he should make nice, too.
@KatherinWinter@LTDarksin Ivy got up and gestured for David to follow her. She caught up to Roxy, who was at the door by now. Whether or not she wanted to trust Roxy after what had happened, she knew she had to; she was the only one who knew what was going on. "Tell us about the mission." Ivy said simply.
@LTDarksin Ivy nodded in response to David. She had overheard most of the exchange between Roxy and Neva, and was shocked that the guards didn't step in. That was enough of an incentive to keep her from stepping in. She didn't want to get killed, though in retrospect she felt awful about it; what if she had killed Neva? Inaction is the worst thing you can do, and she knew that but she didn't act anyway. She cursed herself internally.
Cooper nodded, then looked from Marcella to the stage. "Oh, it's the Siege kid." Cooper said, somewhat disquieted. She didn't know Matthew personally, she'd never met him, but she knew the name and it's legacy a little too well. She couldn't bring herself to clap, but she sincerely hoped that he would treat people better than his family did.
