"If you kill a man, you scorn his wife. If you kill his wife, you scorn her child. If you kill her child, you scorn his village. If you kill his village, you scorn the kingdom. If you kill the kingdom you scorn an empire. If you kill an empire, then who is left?"

Once I'm home I'll be able to post.

I'm definitely going to see the limits of Corban's patience.

EDIT: I'm a dirty liar who likes to sleep. I'll post when I wake up.

Let's say a character has an insecurity, Shin's own face works nicely. If someone intentionally jeered at his face, it would be very distracting. Frustrating and if they went out of their way to harm his face worse, it would set him on a tirade.

The emotional aspect of fights is too often ignored. That's why Shin wears the mask. None of his other injuries are bothersome, but the facial disfigurement is humiliating. Especially since it's his greatest failure.

Shin is my Oldest and Boldest character. He's had the most work put into him over the years, and he's the character I'm most familiar with.

Shin was born in Alternate Universe Number Who Gives a Damn, this is not the same universe as LeeRoy's origin universe of Universe Number Who Fucking Cares. LeeRoy was born in Who Fucking Cares and wound up in Who Gives a Damn, this is how they are connected.

In U#WGaD, society is much different. It's industrial age a few years early. In the 1700s. Pretty much everything was the same, except political ideals started way earlier. I was going to go into super deep detail about it, but I'll just summarize.

Young Kid: Normal but apathetic child, no demonstration of psychopathic tendencies.
Teenager: Trained in Martial Arts to give him a strong foundation.
Young Adult: Joined a society known for killing people, but far above the law. He killed his first man and found out his nearly sexual obsession with death.
Adult: Became obsessed with becoming physically perfect so he can kill more efficiently, it becomes like a drug addiction at this point.
Middle Age: Shin was sent out to kill a man who was reportedly Immortal. LeeRoy.

Unfortunately, this is how he gets his facial scar. Shin breaks into LeeRoy's laboratory as he's working on his Thermal Gauntlets, winds up catching a facefull of burning hand. Obliterating his eye and ruining his face. Then he was thrown from a third story window, just before he hit the ground he was selected as a potential Godslave.

The God of Form saw his obsession with physical perfection as a perfect medium for him to enslave Shin. Shin was granted immortality and The Black Staff.

He then spent the next few centuries perfecting his body.

Edit:
FACT: No matter who Shin fights, no matter who they are as a person. They suddenly become the most emotionally stolid and immovable individual. Losing all emotional ties to their sense of self.

It's funny how that coincidentally ignores his jeering and vulgar manner of speech.

Total coincidence though.
Shin is proving so damn hard to line right. I chose a strange perspective to draw from.
This is the progress on Shin so far, dynamic poses and the shading related to them are always incredibly hard to work with.

The detail might be fucked up because of the PNG conversion.
@MelonHead Caught me on my break, had enough time to put it together.
Conflict seemed like an ever closer and terrifying inevitability. He didn't know how long he could stall, and even if he could stall forever he didn't know the lengths of Fury's patience. After being in the sun all day, and after hauling his ship he was unsure of himself.

Could he escape if he ran? If he ran, Fury might just take the ship and leave. He would doom those helpful folks who had saved his life. Other plans seemed just as hopeless, some for more foolish. Recklessness might get him killed, and he still hasn't figured out who he is yet.

One word and a color were all he had to go on, and that word was in a language nobody he had met could speak. By the gods he hadn't even learned his own damn name! Dunnaman was a made up moniker! As he stood there, Fury demanded that they fix the ship. Panic washed his blood white hot, and his skin chilled at the pressure of Fury's aura.

He didn't know what to do, and his mouth worked without thought. His words were totally on the spot. "No," Uttered from his mouth, defiance heavy on the single syllable. Panicked words followed very shortly, though the defiance still hung in the air like a weighted balloon. "Ah mehn. Ah cahnnot fehx tha shep's sehstehms. Ahm not skehlled ehnough ter fehx Tham. Ahll ah knoo ehs how ter fehx thah engahn."

Another lie, they had given him a manual to fix every system on the ship. Hard and soft ware. If his entire body wasn't already drenched in sweat, Fury might see cold sweats running afresh down his forehead and into his eyes."Ahnd ehvahn ehf ah dead. Eht maght not beh sahlvagable."

If push came to shove he'd do what needed to be done to save the lives of the helpless many from Fury's wrath.
@Rilla My second oldest character, behind Shin. He's broken due to the combination of abilities he has, rather than any individual trait.
@Doc Doctor
Well I've already started the thread, posted the first post, and it's a ranked one v one. Sorry man.
From behind his mask, muffled but voluminous words rang forth, "Fickle little things, gods are, don't you think?" For the first time in this entire tournament he had spoken, thirty one matches consecutively in dead silence. Until now. This was their final round, and his opponent had proven to be as tactful and skillful a combatant as he was. They had fought a total gauntlet every day for a month. Each match harder than the last, but this was the thirty second, the first day of the next month. The two had finally met on the field of battle as equals, thus far none of the other competitors had been worthy of conversation. The only thing that had given them worth was the sweet release of their death.

This man, however, was worth conversation. Thirty one days of combat hadn't slowed his senses, the others never rested or intentionally sabotaged their competition. Corban and Shin had managed to avoid restless nights. Together they had managed to reach the end of their long trial, and this was the final hurdle.

The assassin had some degree of respect for the warrior Corban, an honor not so easily handed out. So, for the first time in a month, he spoke to his opponent. "Forcing their servants and unfortunate subjects to dance like monkeys. My question is, which are you?" There was a subtle tone of malice in his voice, already he was toying with egos. The two hadn't even engaged in combat yet, and he was already insinuating superiority.

The pair had already exited their opposing gateways, entering the circular arena and watching the walls rise around them. Giving them a large locale with much in the way of cover, pillars and walls were interspersed around the arena with overlapping and random patterns. Shin stood near the north end, and Corban near the south. A clear line was between them with a circle of room in the middle. Their voices carried quite well in the circular chamber, and communication would be possible from anywhere despite the size.

Shin stood with his right hand clenched tightly around the shrunken black staff. Holding it in its smallest form, ready to adapt once combat had begun. Despite the constant combat, however, neither of them had any injuries or wear on their outfits. Shin's conservative clothes had repaired themselves after every battle, and Corban's outfit had as well. Every wound they had taken had healed in the night after each battle.

They were at their peaks and in an Arena designed to cater to both of their needs, it would be an even and interesting bout.
