Hello, outsiders!

I am LegacyAbraham and I am looking for a party to play a long-term campaign of Rime of the Frostmaiden. You might not be very familiar with this campaign, but you could still join. The main objective would be to complete all of the quests from the ten towns and move on with the game as the chapters describe the story progression. Oh, this is also a call for a DM.

About Me:

I am a 23-year-old guy who loves to roleplay and has some experience playing DnD and a lot of experience with PbP roleplays. For this game I would play Egon Oroth, a human wizard raised in the Ten Towns. I'm okay roleplaying here or in Discord. Also, know that I work and study, so my posting rate might not be daily.

What I expect from a DM:

I expect someone with some experience DMing DnD games, but if you are a newbie, that would also be fine, as long as you have at least DMed other types of games. I would expect you to dedicate some time to reading the campaign book for the game so that the story would flow with some ease and also to be able to create an environment where all players could succeed in their personal objectives.

What I expect from the group:

I would expect a group of 4 to 6 players (including myself) with at least the interest to learn the DnD mechanics and with the availability to post every 2 days (or more often). Since I am going to play a wizard, it would be better if players used different classes. Homebrew content is okay, as long as it is presented beforehand for analysis. Characters will start at level 1 and might become level 12 until the end of the campaign

Chapter 1:
The Ten Towns

Adventure quests prompt our intrepid heroes to visit the many settlements of Ten-Towns and lend a helping hand.

Chapter 2:
Icewind Dale

Tall tales lead the characters to adventure locations on the fringes of Icewind Dale.

Chapter 3:
Sunblight

A duergar tyrant is building a chardalyn dragon to destroy Ten-Towns. The characters learn of this plot and try to thwart it.

Chapter 4:
Destruction's Light

After Xardorok Sunblight unleashes his dragon, the characters must stop it before it destroys Ten-Towns.

Chapter 5:
Auril's Abode

Characters travel to the frigid island of Solstice in search of a lost orb, a book, and perhaps the Frostmaiden herself.

Chapter 6:
Caves of Hunger

Armed with the "Rime of the Frostmaiden," the characters crack open the Reghed Glacier, unsealing a dungeon of ice.

Chapter 7:
Doom of Ythryn

After surviving the Caves of Hunger, the characters enter the necropolis of Ythryn in search of ancient Netherese magic.

PERSONALITY

Orochi is outgoing and confident if not a very flirtatious gay man. He likes to show his affection through actions and in writing. His friends call him “Ganondorf” due to his obsession with the Legend of Zelda Games. If you look into his library, you'll find a lot of neuroscience journals, biographies, and studies about the brain and its development. He doesn't hesitate when talking to people either. Since he grew up with a very supportive family, he never had problems with his sexuality. In fact, he's pretty open-minded about it.

He likes to joke around and make friends easily but also has a serious nature. He's good at reading emotions and understanding the world better than most people. When others underestimate him or get angry he is quite calm and composed. However, this isn't always enough for himself because sometimes he can be an insensitive ass. He has a bad habit of taking everything too literally. It gets really annoying, especially when he tries to make a point or is wrong. When he makes mistakes on an assignment he will immediately apologize. This tends to happen more often than he would like. Even though he does take great pride in being smart and intelligent.

His favorite food is kombucha because he enjoys that flavor. He loves to drink vodka and wine but hates beer. He can handle alcohol well, but drinking when stressed makes him nauseous and dizzy. He's tall and very lean. He has a muscular/lean build so he rarely looks weak. He wears glasses and is a perfectionist. When he's working, it's easy to forget how smart he is. His hair is black and curly and his face is framed by thick dark eyebrows.

BACKGROUND

Orochi is the son of two botanists. His parents met when they were in college in Tokyo majoring in Biology. Luccas Vertino had just moved from Italy when he met Kaguya, his wife. Even though they both shared an immense love for plants, they expressed it in extremely different ways. As soon as they moved to Taygete, Kaguya opened a flower shop, while her husband decided to expand his academic knowledge. It didn't take long until he was hired as one of the head researchers of the Technological Advancement Department, eventually becoming the head of the Transgenics and Genetic Modified Plants Sector. His first research project brought him into contact with some of the most prominent financiers in Taygete.

Orochi was born when his parents were already pretty much known in the Chaldene upper circles. They had him in their 40s and there were concerns that Kaguya might've not survived the labor, but everything worked fine. The boy grew up surrounded by books on botany, history, physics, and genetics. While he never made any real friends at school, Orochi has always been quite popular. He was a good student and was known for playing video games and getting good grades.

When he was 14 years old, he started working part-time alongside his father, assisting him in the development of a new line of botanical sprays. Luccas loved having his son around, although he could be hard to deal with sometimes. In the beginning, he had to learn how to keep his son cool when dealing with the more aggressive researchers, especially in the lab. After some months of training, however, Luccas felt like his son could handle himself. He also realized that Orochi was a smart kid who could probably help out with any projects they might have, so he continued sending him back to work after school. Thanks to his stellar progress, he was able to finish school being only 16.

He then went on to university to study Genetic Engineering. Luccas offered to buy him the apartment that he currently lived in, so he would have enough funds to continue his studies. The young man accepted the offer, although his mother still couldn't get over how expensive it was. She knew that her eldest child would need the money to pay off his debts and she supported whatever choice he made. As Orochi graduated from high school, he started taking up more shifts as a technician for the Biotech Division, where the labs were still being built. This gave him more access to people from all over Taygete.

Eventually, he was admitted into a prestigious Master's program, one that would take him further in academia. Professor Uchikake wanted his graduate advisor in the development of new biotech solutions for medical use. Orochi accepted the opportunity immediately, and after two years of intense study and preparation, he finally got his diploma and a place alongside his father as an effective scientist in the Transgenics and Genetic Modified Plants Sector.

At about 5'9", with light brown hair and bright green
eyes, he often stood out, but he enjoyed the attention nonetheless. He had a very friendly and cocky personality, with people quickly making his acquaintance whenever they saw him. This gave him some confidence to go against what many expected of him. He liked being seen as someone confident and strong, even if that meant standing up to certain individuals. He wasn’t afraid to show that he was more mature than most since that meant less criticism thrown at his character. He preferred to be seen as someone with a strong sense of humor instead of someone whose mind seemed to wander all the time. He loved meeting interesting characters and was interested in learning more about them. He found many of them attractive and wanted to get to know them better as well. Eventually, he became a very flirtatious man. At this point, it wasn’t uncommon for girls and boys to try and hit on him. However, Orochi enjoyed every chance he got to make a fool of someone. He never failed in finding out information about another person; usually about what they did or where they worked. It always amused him when they reacted in amusement.

It was only working so closely with the chiefs, that he finally understood how deeply rotten the Taygete government was. There was no denying that their current treatment policies were unfair and discriminatory. He learned that while some scientists did have problems with certain aspects of Taygete's legal system, many of them had come here seeking asylum under the
guise of scientific experimentation. Orochi also learned that these scientists had a vested interest in seeing the world grow and evolve. Some even advocated for creating artificial lifeforms based on their genes or using DNA to replicate.

It wasn't surprising to him that this kind of behavior was common among them. The main problem Orochi faced during his tenure there was the lack of ethics. The scientists were not willing to listen to reason regarding their rights and responsibilities. If they thought that something could improve society, then it would benefit all regardless of what it cost them. Orochi had seen evidence of people being forced through forced genetic treatment due to these laws. Those cases were not documented, nor did any of them ever show up before the courts. This led to many cases being settled by judges rather quickly. Many of these patients were forced to undergo extensive tests to determine if their children could be genetically engineered to survive. It was after learning those things that he decided things needed to change. Would them be from inside and out or from a revolution he was still trying to figure out.

Orochi is a highly methodic and trained scientist and engineer, who knows how to handle a lot of challenges. He is also trained in several martial arts he grew up learning. His favorite is Muai Thai. He also comes from a rich family and have access to resources and contacts most people don't have.
