Silence.

The rain patters against the cold cobblestone of the empty roads, trailing from the exquisite Kingdom and guiding a path through it's ominous towns. What once was bolstering, has now become the opposite–quiet, unmoving silence. Accompanied with the oddity is the familiar sense of fear through the stand-still. The trees no longer danced, the birds no longer sang, and the people no longer smiled. Visions of the past mixed with anticipation of the future, casting a somber aura throughout the land that even the sun can not quell. But, if you listen closely, it is not as silent as you may expect. You can hear the wind whistle through the stagnant trees, bellowing into a roar of battle, overcoming the whispering prayers of the people. Hope is lost.

Today, Thelan invites the brave champions to one final meal before they embark on their journey. Some recruited, some volunteered–each hand helping the cause for peace and reaching for the unseen hope. The King of Thelan, amidst his despair, honors these heroes tonight with prayers of light and words of courage. A formal dinner before the Royal Plea.
So a very valid question has been posed to me via PMthanks @inertia hehe

Q: What kind of battles are to be expected during the time of peace to enable the characters to get experience and fighting under their belt?

A: So, the time of peace sums up to be around three decades, which will surpass, probably, the age of most of our characters. Although, I'm going to create a third party within this RP of gathered individuals that go against Queen Anice and the treaty. Queen Anice held so much power, to the point where she would be the biggest danger any Kingdom would've seen had she ever decided to turn against them. Thus, a large group of bandits(maybe we'll call them that?) were formed to go against it all. They would hold camps scattered along the borders of the Kingdoms, in areas that weren't expected to be protected. This will allow for small-scale battles for the characters to really earn some reverence and experience!

To add to this, the creatures of the North are still hostile in some regions of Moore! So you could get experience there as well!
Interested! But since this is a continuation of a previous RP, do we need to know anything more than what's been written up there?

Not at all! What's written is all you would need to know! Though, the OOC does have a bit more information than what's listed here! :)
@vertigh0st

Yay! LETS SEE THAT CS BABY~!
Hi! I'm really interested in this rp if you're still open to applications. I did have a couple of questions though, to help sort out which oc I might use. So I wanted to ask who exactly is going on this quest? And if that's the main part of the story, since you said people can play the King/Queen, other members of the royal family, witches and Vikings (cause I thought the quest was only for knights and fighters)? I'm a bit tied between a witch character or Alovian atm.

Yay more interest! So originally, this RP was just supposed to be a normal fantasy RP taking place within the royal court. So the 'roles' that are listed are from there. BUT! I'm still going to allow those roles to be playable, but I might be a little bit more strict on the character to allow for a smooth RP. The quest is actually open to any who volunteer! I imagine that there won't be a small group going, but more of a bigger band of individuals. The players are just going to be the omega-awesome-lul characters that will see to the end of it and solve the mystery! All the other peeps are just pawns, muahahahahaha.

Either character would work perfectly! You can even make some sort of 'high witch' from the witches huts or something! To add a little extra pizzazz to your character! :)
@Lionhearted hmm, would Thelan have some sort of specialized people to go after the witches used by Alovia and in general? Was thinking of making a Witch Hunter/Inquisitor type fella akin to Heinrich Kramer, Jakob Sprenger, Matthew Hopkins etc. except he'd be burning actual witches not just poor girls that annoyed the wrong people. If I did such a thing though, would there actually be any countermeasures to witches? I. E. Holy water or silver or the old Abrahamic style us of garlic, or some other anathema to users of magic? Was also thinking of him potentially being in origin owing to some Moorish upper crust that migrated to Thelan with their Hirdmen or something.

Naturally, the Moore people have a rivalry with the witches. Their lands are seen as 'spiritual' to them, whereas the witches see it as a place of unobtained power. Their mountainous terrain holds a lot of secrets and a lot of undiscovered ravines. They have found usage in a lot of the jewels of their land. While they don't delve in using magic, nor do they have a bloodline of using magic, they are able to use these jewels for their made-purpose. For example, they could have amethysts that are natural boons for protection against magic. I haven't really fleshed out this theory yet, but the rivalry is definitely set in stone.

Aside from that, I love that idea for your character! I think it's definitely possible to make an Inquisitor-type character! I would say that those methods are for sure acceptable as countermeasures to a witch. I'm not really familiar with a lot of the methods, but maybe we can PM about it and I can write it in within the OOC!

I think the migration idea is definitely possible. The Isle of Moore and Thelan trade often so it wouldn't be to any surprise to have Moore people living within Thelan. Though, the Moore people generally prefer to reside in their homelands unless required otherwise.
I am interested as well so long as it is still open!

It sure is! I am still accepting more players! :)
