Both the victor
and the vanquished are
but drops of dew,
but bolts of lightning,
thus should we view the world.

- The death poem of Ôuchi Yoshitaka

Sidenote: I have been made aware that finding a picture of a samurai that isn't the dude from Sword of the Stranger or Kenshin is pretty much impossible, so images are optional. I feel less bad bumping given that I'm not bumping anybody else out of the last post.
@Jay Kalton Glad to have you back! Places are still left.

@Claw2k11 Crapsack world, so a causeless vigilante distributing justice that isn't a daimyo, shogun, or emperor's justice would get hunted down and publicly executed faster than you can say Itadakimasu. Additionally, making a character that's like Benkei -- a huge badass monk turned ascetic mystic -- but stripping him of monkhood and asceticism just makes him a huge badass. That being said, I have been proven wrong before, so you are welcome to apply with that character idea in mind.
@Dead Cruiser I can dig it! Good to see you back. Here are all of the in-world religions to make writing that sheet a little easier.

The Holy Path - The kami are spirits innately tied to Tsukishima, particularly its natural landscape, although places and items that have existed for a century are imbued with spirits as well. These kami have Tsukishima's best interest at heart. When Mt. Kaji erupted a few hundred years ago, that was the kami getting mad at people for focusing on their material lives and not spirituality. The Holy Path has priests and priestesses that attend to their shrines, who can marry and have children.

The Sacred Path - The Enlightened One was born of a virgin princess in Seung Yua, but was abandoned and carried to Tsukishima safely on a raft protected by the ocean kami. There, he was raised by peasants before learning about the circumstances of his adoption, sailing to Seung Yua, and meeting his Queen mother, who welcomed him with open arms. After being a prince for a while, he was dissatisfied with the manner peasants were treated and fled the palace, meditating deep within Seung Yua's jungle for a year with no food or water. When he emerged, he was enlightened -- He walked back to Tsukishima along the water's surface to spread his teachings, and then walked to Mt. Kaji with his followers who built his first temple. The Sacred Path has monks, who cannot marry or have children. Mt. Kaji itself has warrior monks and is technically neutral in political regards within the empire.

The Divine Path - The first religion of Seung Yua, following a pantheon of many spirits similar to the Tsukihito kami, but with over a thousand spirits to its name. A devout mother praying for her son's safe return from a sea voyage might pray to the ocean spirit, but would more likely pray -- for better results -- to the spirit in charge of safely ferrying sailors home, or perhaps even the more specific spirit of safely ferrying the sailors home to their mothers in time for a specific religious holiday. What little of the Divine Path known to Tsukihito is often mocked for the peculiar elephant gods and many-armed spirits as well as their extremely varied pantheon of spirits.

The Heavenly Path - Somewhere west of Goristan, a man named Yeshua who claimed to be the son of God preached a gospel of loving one's neighbor and turning the other cheek. The emperor of the lands he was in responded to this blasphemy by killing him and nailing his body to a stump. In the morning, his body was gone and the stump was a tree, proving Yeshua's divinity to his followers and confirming his gospel's righteousness. The Divine Path has both priests and monks, though the differences are not accurately known this far from its origin. Some texts say Heavenly priests can marry and their monks cannot, while others claim that neither can marry. This is due to the Heavenly Path being split up into different regional factions, with one following a figurehead who claims to speak to Yeshua and God directly, and another believing their divinity to be too great to consort with any mortal man.
Glad to see the interest. I've clarified the contradictory rules and spruced up the world info a little bit. Given that the most likely reason for rejection will be similarities to another character, here are synopses of the three accepted characters to avoid that.

1. A brooding samurai avenging his family by hunting a demon. Honor still very much intact.
2. A disgraced ronin running from a demon out to get him. Has foregone his honor.
3. A pirate from the Tokukokku Isles unaware of the demon insurrection. No honor to begin with.

In Consent 6 yrs ago Forum: Casual Roleplay
"Ja." A voice spoke up from the crowd, as deep and trenchant as an orchestral horn. "Ist gut."

A man stepped forward, as visibly European as his accent. An unnatural shade of orange God did not intend men's skin to turn into, with a fade of blonde hair too short to have been cut any earlier in the week than yesterday. He must have thought this would have been a photographed event.

The blonde man looked both ways -- taking a brief check to see if another had volunteered to go second -- and approached the man on the chair. In an instant, the blonde man's arms shot out, grabbing the volunteer by the shoulder and the crotch. For a brief moment, the room tensed, unsure of whether the blonde man had violated one of the rules, before his body jerked violently, twisting backwards and flinging the volunteer from his seat like a pillow and onto his shoulders. The group of volunteers gave a collective round of "oohs" as the blonde man widened his stance, stretching his grip to the man's neck and hip, and taking a deep squat down.

"Ein," The blonde man said, flexing his fingers and tightening his grip on the volunteer's body. "Zwei, drei," He continued, getting into a slow rhythm. "Vier, fünf," The blonde said through now-gritting teeth, slowing his reps with each return from a squat.

"Sechs, sieben," His legs now shook violently with each lunge upward, and his breathing became thicker in his words. He paused for a moment, finding some inner resolve that had lain dormant, and lunged up once more, outstretching his arms and holding the volunteer up like a prize bass.

"Acht!"

He lowered himself and returned the volunteer to a standing position, now with a clear blob of the blonde man's sweat on his chest, muddling the inky dong that had been drawn previously.
Good question. I don't think I've added any CEO villains to the canon, but I should -- The only CEO Super off the top of my head is Mothman, who is our world's closest thing to Batman. Anyway, there are definitely supers with companies. If you or anyone else has questions and don't wanna wait the four days for me to see a message and respond, here's a link to the discord. It's ugly rn but it'll be less ugly as I fix it, and it's got all the info you could ask for short of an IC, which will be posted sometime this week.
I was originally gonna wait to link the discord until I launch the OOC and clean the profoundly disorganized discord, but here's a link for all you early adopters.
