Detective Jenna Sophia Michaelson
The young woman, just 33 years old, was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. Her childhood was filled with Disney weekends and beach trips. She was an only child growing up, her parents giving her almost everything she could possibly ask for, but within reason. Her father, Detective Felix Michaelson of the Orlando Police Department, instilled a sense of discipline and responsibility in her at a relatively young age. Because of his commitment to his daughter, Jenna always excelled in school, often getting rewarded for her hard work.
When she was a teenager about to go into high school, Jenna decided to follow her father's footsteps. She went to a school a bit farther away from home because it had a law magnet program. Her mother, Helen, was thrilled with the idea, but her father was reluctant. He eventually realized that the passion she had for the criminal justice field would not be thwarted, and not only was he happy for her, but he started acting as her mentor.
Jenna worked hard enough in high school that she was accepted to Boston University on a full scholarship. It was a big change for her, to say the least, but she was growing tired of the humidity and the hurricanes that came with living in Florida. Her aunt, Katheryn Michaelson, lived in Boston by herself, so Jenna figured she would keep her company while avoiding the insane housing fees from the university. Jenna went on to sign up for a double major in criminal justice and psychology, both fields probably the only ones she felt comfortable with.
Prior to graduation, Jenna applied to the Boston Police Department. Her aunt was on good terms with an ex-boyfriend of hers who was a cop, so not only did she have some pull there, but her father was also very close friends with a Captain in the department. Once Jenna's application went through, she started the long background process before eventually making it to the academy.
Nearly a year passed and Jenna graduated second in her class. She was given the same crappy shift every other new officer received, but she completed a few years on the road before eventually putting in for a detective position and getting it. Even thought she transferred units a few times, Jenna knew she wouldn't go back to the road if she could help it.
