Joey eyed the number of vehicles parked by the lakeside. A surefire sign of a crowd.

Guess the rest of the town had the same idea. That or Olivia invited everyone. he mused as he picked out Olivia's Mustang from the assembly of automobiles.

One hand maneuvered the steering wheel while he reached for the blunt in Taylor's hand with the other. "I prefer Indica dominant, ideally, but we can't "investigate" trippin out can we. So, smart move there, won't catch me complaining." he said as took a puff and passed it back Taylor who was laughing,

Joey blew the smoke out his mouth and nodded slowly, the effect of the cannabis slowly starting to take effect. Saide wouldn't be much help in this case.

He pulled up too a desired parking spot and put his car into park. Already Taylor was on the move, leash in hand and seatbelt long since discarded. Something had her on edge. He recognized her habit of early seatbelt removal, but her gaze and sudden response peaked his curiosity. He tried to trace her gaze back to whatever she was looking at but she had long since turned away.

He rubbed his jaw in disappointment and stepped out of the vehicle, it was probably nothing anyway.

God, I need to stop being so nosey.

"Olivia invited a whole lot for this, she wasn't kidding." he called out too Taylor, scoping out the group stationed at the lake.

Josh grinned at the joint in Taylor's lap and nodded in approval as he slide the car into reverse and in one swift motion maneuvered out of the driveway, and started down the road.

On the radio played one of his favorite songs, N.Y State of Mind by Nas. The song was a mirror of his life back in the Bronx; a kid living out his days as a deviant in the eyes of society, with no care in the world and pedaling whatever one could to make money - usually drugs. Ironically, the song didn't mean shit to him until he actually left the damn place, something he assumed was a byproduct of him viewing the song now as an outsider, not as one who experienced the activities mentioned.

Now here he was, living in the little town of Red Lake, getting word of shit much more brutal than that of the Bronx-life. Maybe Red Lake needed a song of it's own now.

Josh gripped the steering wheel and blew a sigh out his nose. He was too young to be stressing like this. It was one thing to have a killer out on the massive streets of Brooklyn, but I’m a small town like Red Lake, everyone was game.

"How good is Sadie’s nose?” Josh piped up suddenly, his own mind switching lanes almost instantaneously. Maybe Sadie would be doing much more thank just walking.

Josh slid out off the booth behind Taylor, doing everything in his power to keep his eyes above the top of her head. At this point, he needed his imagination to remain within his grasp. "It's no problem, not like the fur's hurtin anybody." he said as his brushed a few crumbs off his jacket.

Personally, Josh didn't have a love for dogs. They just weren't his animal. To be honest, no animal was his animal. He just didn't have the patience to take care of them. Either that or he was rather lazy; which was likely the case. He didn't have a problem with other people having them though. In any case, pets where at least quiet in most public settings, unlike kids.

Josh shook his head at the noise a set of children summoned with their entrance into the cafe. He couldn't help but chuckle at his own past, if he had dare cry in public with his mom back in the day he could expect a leather belt to the ass later. His mother's parenting wasn't exactly sound.

Taylor roused Joey from thought as they stepped onto the parking lot and made their way to his vehicle near the front of the cafe and couldn't help but grin. "Gettin high before investigating a kidnapping. My kind of morning, hell yeah." he chuckled as he unlocked the doors to his car.
