The Battle of Abominations, Part I
The drawing abomination leaped at Saaria, screeching as it did. She swooped out of its reach, and threw a fireball at its back. It did not react, and turned its gruesome grinning face towards her. She had never faced such a thing. She hadn't even heard stories of such a thing. It pounced again, performing a strange backflip and Saaria narrowly escaped, one of her shoulders catching the edge of one of its fingers. And it was
sharp . She reached into the hive mind, hoping to gain knowledge on the thing. She found nothing but a headache.
"Fuck!" She screamed as the creature pounced yet again. It was like a hunting animal. The thought that perhaps it had once been human made Saaria queasy. The world seemed to slow as it made yet another leap at her. She closed her eyes, feeling the hive mind around and within her. Somewhere on the other side of the ruins, a swarm of Taken were now advancing on Cia, and the hulking abomination was closing in ever so slowly. She could see it all.
Feel it all. She fell down a bit, and reached her hand out, feeing it connect where she knew it would, without opening her eyes. She grasped onto the collarbone and spun the beast into the air, throwing it as hard as she could into the earth. Opening her eyes, a violet ring appeared spinning round her pupil. The creature stared at her as she sent a fireball rocket down into its head, smashing it into a million fragments. She slowly descended to the ground, noting that most of the bones disintegrated when the beast was defeated, but a few bones lay askew in a pile. Gerald's arms and hands were found. Saaria breathed deeply, trying to sever herself from the hive mind.
"Shit." She mumbled as she felt it resisting her. She had to stop trying to do that, it couldn't be good for her. She thought she was severed, but the violet ring remained around her pupil, laying dormant for now.
