The best thing you can do is just hop right in. It'll help you test the waters of your current comfortability and ease in back into writing normally, even more so given that RoleplayerGuild tends to be a slower site when compared to other roleplaying forums such as RPNation. Whereas you might find people posting multiple times a week on other sites, RPG averages around one weekly post per person, personally speaking from my own experience roleplaying here. If you can handle at least one IC post a week, then you're already on your way getting back into the groove.
Personally, I'd suggest finding a Casual RP to join since the section is more or less a hodgepodge of practically everything and everyone at this point. You'll find people of varying writing level and skill there, with hardly any actual post length requirements or concerns towards quality. It's usually "just write a post" there. If you think what you've written is good, then it's good enough to be posted.

B I O G R A P H YLife started out as a mess for a young Scout Czajkowski.
At an early age, her parents, being unable to properly care for their daughter, signed their parental rights away, leaving Scout in her grandmother's care. Sad as it was, however, Scout never took much issue with the decision; what memory she had of her biological parents clouded by childhood amnesia. They were foreign to Scout, and for all Scout figured, her babcia was her mother.
And so, Scout began her childhood under her traditionally Polish grandmother—her "Polish Journey", she dubbed it, being raised around all things Polish. She learned the Polish language, ate Polish food, and even partook in Polish traditions from the Drowning of Marzanna to Fat Thursday. At first, such times were fun and full of cheer, but as Scout grew older, she ultimately began to drift away from her Polish heritage, wanting a chance to follow her own path rather than what had been set out for her already.
Little did she know what such ideals would cost.
Seemingly out of the blue, her grandmother's age and ailing health gave way to a costly medical emergency. No longer was she able to take care of her granddaughter like before, but unbeknownst to Scout, her grandmother and her distant uncle had already planned for such an event. Though Scout swore to stay by her grandmother's side, circumstance said otherwise. Before she even knew it, Scout was off packing her bags for California to live with an uncle she had never met before—at least long enough to finish her schooling.

Interesting. I don't know if I've noticed that but its good to take note of. On the flip side, men do make a lot of women less than experienced which frankly, is just stupid. Of course it can be written well, but I never understood the 'purity' trope as a prerequisite for a goodly woman protag.
A lot of it has to do with religion. A notable example was the push by Evangelicals only 30 or so years ago for "purity pledges" and abstinence from sex before marriage so that they remained pure and a good Christian in the eyes of God and/or Christ. Other than that, @Andreyich basically summarized it for me a few posts above.
Pokemon Unite is surprisingly entertaining for what it is. Though its P2W elements are already pretty outrageous. (And I know they're not bound to improve with time.)
Mhm; I've heard good things about Unite despite everyone's fears. But nonetheless the game was made by Tencent, so I'm still in the middle ground of whether or not I want to try Unite whenever it eventually comes to mobile in September.
Tentative interest, but a few things I wanted to note/ask:
1) Some of your image links for the school are broken. From my own experience, anything hosted under the googleusercontent url acts as a temporary link, eventually refusing access to the picture after some time. Best bet is probably to find them again and upload the images to a place like Imgur.
2) Which grade level(s) are we looking at here? You mention the end goal is graduation, so I imagine seniors are okay. But later on you also mention first years/freshmen in the school info, which raises the point that if we're also including them and the other two grades (sophomore and junior) in the PC cast. I'm assuming you are including all four years of HS as an option, but I figured it was something worth asking regardless of my assumption.
3) The map mentions two story buildings, with the 800 building having a third story. Which buildings are two story?
4) Is there a list of classes available (other than the basics, obviously)? Are there any named individuals so far that teach said classes?
Anyway and with that out of the way, I'll likely reserve Sophia Lillis as a FC if I do join.
