Bio
Currently looking for Fairy Fencer F (FFF for short I suppose XD) Roleplay actually
what's the ratio of weapons/meisters looking at? I could count em, but lazy lol I'm settling on a meister idea, but if we need another weapon I can always switch.
I never had my question answered, so here's what I call a crap excuse for a CS.
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Rank: 5 of Sword
Appearance: Anemone shows little care for his appearance, often being seen sporting wild bouts of bedhead or covered in dirt from sleeping on the ground. She has a somewhat slim build, standing at 5'4 and weighing in at 140lbs, her magic making up for her lack of muscle.
Personality: Anemone is a lazy, unmotivated person who doesn't seem to care or feel much about anything or anyone besides herself. This isn't even due to her upbringing, it's just how she has always been. She never learned to manage money and thus has a horrible habit of splurging it all in one go, and is shown to get quite addicted to gambling which has lead to a lot of debts.
Due to her laziness, she has difficulties controlling her vast and powerful magic once it's unleashed. It's not uncommon for her to zip straight past a target, miss entirely or commit friendly fire. The biggest way to fire up her motivation to do anything is to remind her of how much money she is in debt, otherwise, she is prone to lounging around and rarely going on quests. She will eventually get going by herself, but it is far quicker this way.
She also prefers to either use all her magic in one front-on attack at full power or using it to zip around the battlefield in more a skirmisher role. Darting in, attacking, darting out.
Brief Backstory: Anemone was born to a wealthy family of knights, her mother a more than a competent mage. The first and only born to her family name, she was raised with all the training and etiquette that accompanied her station....except she cared for none of it. At all. She made a habit of skipping out on lessons, though she did take some interest in some of the weapon training she was instructed in it wasn't long before she would become tired of the training half-way through the lesson and try to leave. She cared so little for it, she and her father were almost constantly arguing about it.
Instead, she preferred to nap in the shade under a nearby tree. Or just lounge around doing nothing, for you see she was unmotivated and would rather be doing sweet nothing, be peaceful rather than all these 3000 things her mother and father wished her to learn, to know, to become. As she got older, the worse she got at attending lessons. At a point, her father physically dragged her to lessons and would constantly yell at her to actually put in some effort. Naturally, this just made her less inclined to go along with this nonsense.
So after one heated argument, she packed her bags and ran away from home. It wasn't long before she got herself into trouble, however, as she had little to no idea how money worked. She had paid no attention to it because she hadn't needed to know before you know? So she was swindled out of her cash, and soon debts started piling up as she took large risks in gambling. Which would've been fine...if she was actually any good at it of course. So soon on the run from not only her own family but also the various loan sharks and the like after her, she eventually joined the Guild to try and pay some of these debts off. And you know, actually, put some of the skills she learned to something resembling use.
Equipment: Fulgar: What she has named her three-pronged thingy. It allows her to channel electricity along it to empower her strikes and electrocute her foes.
Armour: What she has in the image. Idk why it's only like half-armor, anime logic.
Ordinary bow, sword, and some arrows.
Skills: Weapon training: As part of Anemone's childhood growing up, she was trained to be at least competent with most weapons. Though she favors the sword, three-pronged trident/pike and longbow, she is best with the middle.
Hand-to-hand combat: She has received some training in this as well, though she loathes using these skills as it's far too much effort and if it comes to it will probably not even bother.
Lightning Magic: While she learned how to use weapons, she also simultaneously learned how to supplement those skills with lightning magic. Using it to charge her body, she can move faster, strike harder and even unload the electricity built up in her body into her targets or launch 'thunderbolts' from afar. Her magic, however, works much like a battery, so if hit by electric or lightning-based magic she will absorb it but can be overloaded. It also means that if she runs low on charge, she can suffer from lethargy. To charge, she normally has to stay still for long periods of time, so with her habit of wasting it all in one attack it can lead to some very awkward situations.
@Polaris North Fair enough, will look forward to looking at the character then :)
@Killy That's fine, when I get the OOC up it'll have a bit info to work with. And if I miss anything/you want to know more when it's up just say or ask, and so long as it isn't a spoiler/secret I'll be more than happy to help.
@World Traveler Fair enough mate, sounds like an interesting idea to say the least. There will be a fair bit of fighting though, so I'm interested to see how this magic would work. I'm working on a notable NPC list for each family right now, and I'll probably expand a little on the families when I'm done with that and then make up the OOC.
@VitaVitaAR@Raineh Daze Hmm, for my knight mage, I was thinking of being from a disgraced noble/rich family. Any suggestions on how to go about that lore wise? I can post up what I've got of my sheet if that helps, just mostly musing over the backstory atm.
Welcome, to the city of Mahoukyo! Tensions are rising between the three most powerful and influential families in the city, which side are you on?
Premise
In a world not dissimilar to our own, everyone in the world is born with 'Soul'. Utilizing the power of Soul, magical abilities will manifest and are powered by the amount of Soul one possesses. These people are known as mages, and their powers vary greatly. From being able to create and manipulate fire, to putting up barriers, to simply moving very fast, anyone and everyone is born with the potential to use magic. However, not everyone truly becomes a mage for magic, you see, is a strange and mystical power that not much is known about. Most that is known that one needs to it to be invoked, generally through a powerful or traumatic event, though at birth or it just manifesting from the blue are not uncommon.
Our setting takes place in Mahoukyo, where three powerful families have long been feuding over a rare resource known as Soul Essence, the purest form of Soul and that can only be found in the city. It only appears during the night, when strange magic washes over the city. Unbeknownst to all bar those involved, a strange alter reality known as Zero Time is created where Soul Essence is found in abundance. However, strange beasts lurk in Zero Time, preying on those who cannot see them or fighting the families as they fight amongst themselves.
Other strange things happen throughout the city. People disappearing, a serial killer on the loose, mutterings of a dark force pulling things behind the strings, pizza being stolen and people just turning up dead are just a few of the strange rumors circulating throughout the city. Most mages cannot function in the city without being a part of one of the three families, though it is not unheard of for unaffiliated mages to be found. Will you join one of the families, or be a lone wolf?
GM's Hello/Notes
Well first things first, I thank you for visiting this check and getting this far without leaving. Not the most original concept going around, but for anyone looking for an anime as fuck rp trending towards ridiculous anime-inspired powers and themes then I think you've found what you're looking for. Lunarlord34 is my name, and being a bad rper/gm is my game. Been around the guild for a while, and have GMed before but not on this site. Only ever been Co-gm to doomed rps.
I'll get into the rules in a moment, but for now, I'll give a brief explanation on the families:
The Rikimaru Family: Those who value strength and honor tend to drift towards this family. More of a splattering of gangs, this family is currently made up of roughly 30 different factions all united under one banner and each group ranges from 10 or so to upwards of 50+. The troublemakers of the three families.
The Akechi Family: Sticklers for the rules and traditions, this family is less open towards outsiders however even their own leadership is fragmented. They're far more elitist and picky on who can join their circle, however, so long as you can serve a purpose they'll tend to have you.
The Isamu Family: For those that don't belong, who need a place to go, the Isamu will greet all comers with open arms. United as one big family under the current leadership, they're the most chill of the three families.
With that little snippet out of the way, let's get to the crux of the matter. As explained above, Soul is what powers magic here so yes it's just renamed Mana because mana is overused and boring. Magic items/tools exist in this world. I will rank them in levels of rarity/usefulness. Grimoires, wands, scrolls, rings/jewelry and weapons. Grimoires allow access to larger spells and better control, while Wands offer only better control. The other two will vary a lot more, however, but it leaves it open for whatever you wish. If an item you want isn't covered by these 4 terms, I'm more than happy to talk about it to see where they would fall.
For the ranks, I shall be using a 3 tier scale system which me and my co Leslie ended up making.
Experience, which is as it sounds. It's more an age-related matter, so no 10 year old child with the highest level of experience.
Potential: One's ability to contain and sustain Soul and magic. I have the likely hood of people having each tier listed in the sheet below.
Aptitude: Basically how good you are at controlling your magic. Once again, it will be a bit of an age-related matter however I'm more lenient age-wise to this as prodigies do exist and adults with basically no control will as well.
Rules
1. GM's words are final. If I say you can't have this, or do that then that's that. I am happy to debate things though, but be aware that I will just resort to this if needed.
2. Take any drama or nsfw stuff to pm's, don't want to deal with it. However, if you need me to solve any issues, once again just PM me.
3. There is basically no limit to the whacky magic/powers you can have. So long as I approve of the idea, you can have it. I want an open power system with whacky powers that either match or contrast personalities. Also whacky character ideas would be pretty cool.
4. Ideadlly we'll be taking 9-12 players, so roughly 3-4 in each faction including not being affiliated. You may play multiple characters if you wish, to a limit of three however they cannot all just be in the same faction. This limit doesn't count towards characters of NPC status though. Also, if you don't make the cut but if someone drops I will leave it open to you to join later if you so wish. May also increase the limit depending on interest.
5. There are 4 factions for players to join. One of the three families, or simply not being involved with the families. Straightforward.
6. If you need help with anything, don't be afraid to ask. More than willing to help accommodate players' ideas, and if you have subplots or the like ideas more than happy to hear them as well.
7. Now because I'm sick of dying rp's, I will be doing something of a check on players who wish to join as a warning. Mostly for activity and whatnot. There'll also be a semi-strict posting policy, which will vary in length though no shorter than a week, or I'll just skip you if it comes to it. If you want to drop, or are too busy to post then just tell me. In the case of the latter, I will look to accommodate you. I know sometimes you just can't post and I don't want to stress you out.
I think that should cover just about anything. As I said, any questions just ask. Anyways thank you for reading this far and I hope to see you in the big city.
