To say she didn't learn much from Basil was a disappointment would be a lie. But suppose if he wasn't really from around here and was just here to visit, it would make sense so no use dwelling on the matter. At the very least she learned that if she wanted to know such things, the docks were the place to go so that just reinforced her thoughts to go there.

"Yayh a plezshah t' mayt yah too Basil. Wigh' is thaht a Salamence?!" Starry-eyed, she watched as the edgelord oc pulled out a Pokeball and let out the aforementioned dragon type. Holy hell, who was this guy really? SHe still felt like it was on the tip of her tongue but it continued to elude her. But it seemed like she was very much a fan of the pokemon he sent out. "Haow Oy'll graow? Mite, naext toime we mayt Oy'll probahbly be keeckin yoah butt weeth haow strawng Oy've gawtten." It was a bold exclamation, but once more she seemed to believe it. Though when he mentioned for her to hold Dusk she went to question it before it twigged.

So as the Salamence went to take off, grabbed at the litwick before copping a facefull of hair as the winds that the dragon stirred up. Watching as he disappeared into the sky, she blew some strands out of her face before putting Dusk back on her shoulder and then brushing whatever hair was still in her face out of the way before turning to face Faye.

"Yayh, we should geh' gaowin befoah ih' gets dahk and whahtnawt as waell. The die ine't gettin any youngah aftah ooll!" Hopefully they hadn't missed the bus they were waiting for...or if they had, that the next one wasn't too far off. In fact actually...where were they now? SHe hadn't been paying attention, so she wasn't even sure if they could find their way back to that bus stop...good thing she took her stuff with her huh? Oh well, she was sure Faye would be able to get them to the docks with little issues, whether it was leading her there by food or simply finding a new bus stop or whatever.

It came as something of a surprise to Steph that the Sneasal actually agreed. Only moments ago they were adversaries, now they were allies. Suppose it made up for the time wasted on this little endeavor, and the Sneasal was better off with her than that piece of shit anyway! Alls well that ends well and all that jazz. Holding out a Pokeball to it, she watched as the little cretin tapped on it and vanished in a flash of light. It felt like it had already clicked well before the ball had hit the ground, the moment the third roll was done Steph was already kneeling down to pick up the newest addition to her team.

A lot had happened in a short time huh? She had only been a trainer a few hours and she already had half a team.

Hearing her pokedex speak up, she ignored the description it blurted out. It didn't matter much to her, these little snippets were always kinda weird. Like who the fuck in their right mind write this? Cracking open eggs and drinking the insides? Why did she need to know this? God, whoever wrote this was some kind of special nutjob.

"Whaht's naext?" Steph echoed back to Basil, as she looked to Faye for a moment. What were they doing again? Oh right, Steph wanted to check out the docks! It wasn't every day she went to the big city, and this one was in a foreign region! It would be remiss of her to not check things out before leaving. At the very least, she didn't feel like she needed to be in a rush anywhere. "Suppose me and faoy weah gawnna hayd on daown t' the dawcks t' say if theah was anythin inteahstin gaowin on daown theah. aftah thaht, mybee chaeck around taown. Say if theah's anythin inteahstin. Mybee chaeck eow' the maht and gao t' a saentah. dunnao if faoy weell wahnna steeck around the whole toime, buh' Oy knaow Oy wahnna say if Oy cahn haelp anyone heah befoah haydin eow'. Heahd anythin inteahstin gaowin on round heah? aw if anyone nayds a hahnd?"
@vancexentan
I’ve been trying to think of something also, but there isn’t much cropping up in my head either. I guess if we continue as scheduled, we could use it as a chance for Cole to get to know Rivia? Like how she fights and whatnot since I don’t think he’s actually seen her in action, since he was a little busy in the dining hall and all
@vancexentan
Hmm, I'm not sure honestly. It does leave us in a little bit of a bind, but I'm fine continuing as planned or with a toned-down fight. Otherwise I think the only option might be to skip to the wave or do something else, but at least continuing as planned draws things out till Whoami isn't as busy.

At Basil's suggestion, the only thing that Steph gave him in immediate return was a blank look. It seemed like she was taking a moment to process this thought, if it wasn't obvious this never once occurred to her at any point during this little endeavour. While she was still indeed a little annoyed with the Sneasal for stealing her pokedex, it wasn't like that would affect her decision....right?

At the very least, Steph seemed to join the Sneasal in seriously considering this proposition. I mean honestly, it was a good deal for Steph regardless so long as she buried the hatchet over the robbery it committed right? There was no real or obvious downside on her part. Though she took a moment to throw a look to her shoulder, where Dusk was just happily relaxing away while this little exchange was happening. "Lit?" One could almost see him pointing at himself as her questioning gaze at the Litwick.

"Lit, Litwick!" While Steph wasn't exactly an expert on understanding a litwick, or most pokemon for that matter, they both seemed to be on the same wavelength however as there was just a simple exchange of nods after Dusk's flame seemed to increase for just a brief moment when it cried out. It seemed to clue towards Dusk being...happy?

"Waell, dusk heah is moah thahn hahppy t' laeh' yah in sao Oy ineh' gawt nao prawblem if yah wahnna join us bud. Nao doubt we would be ooll the bettah faw ih'. We do plahn on weennin thiies whole laygue though, sao yah bettah be praepaehd t' be trine and become the baest weeth us oolroigh'? just a faeh wahnin sao yah knaow whaht yaw gettin yoahsself intao. and who knaows, mybee whaen weah bawth strawng enough we cahn haelp stawp aw praevent uhthah pokemawn frawm bein weeth sloimebohls loike thaht deepshih'? At the very layst, we'll be able t' do somethin aw dayl weeth ih' a lawt aysier thahn thaht maess bahck theah!" Stating she was going to win the league on the very first day of her adventure, a day where she had almost gotten arrested twice, was bold. Ultra, mega bold. Arrogant even. But the way she spoke and held herself, she seemed convinced this was the only way her journey would end. She exerted confidence at least, that was for certain.

"Lit, lit!" And the way Dusk called out from her shoulder in what seemed to be agreement seemed to show maybe this level of confidence didn't fall too far from the tree in that sense either.

But at the end of the day, it was up to the Sneasal on whether or not it wanted to join forces with this crazed lunatic of a girl. She wasn't going to force it one way or the other.
Rivia Silvermane

Seeing as the group was happy to share in the dango with her also brought a smile to the wolf kins face. Nodding at Ferrs mention of finding the wonders of living in the city, she couldn't agree more with him. While the wilderness was always her home, the city was new and big to her. So even small things like a sweet vendor or hell even a mural or a park bench seemed to draw her attention at times. Let alone the vast varied individuals that wandered the streets; despite her probabaly being the most outlandish in the entire city. But at the end of the day, she was enjoying her time in the capital it seemed.

"Shieldy?" Tilting her head at Edusa, it took a moment of pondering for Rivia to realise she was talking about Ferr. Though with that realisation out of the way, she watched Edusa tried to speedrun not just only eating the dango but life itself it seemed as she began to choke and sputter before downing what only could only assume, or at least hope, was water from her flask. She seemed a lively one at any rate, though as she talking about being a brawler that piqued the wolfs interests. While sparring with Ferr was fun and challenging in its own rights, he was little more than a punching bag considering his....she couldnt say it was unwillingness, but it seemed more like a lack of offensive options? Mayb there was more to the story, she couldnt comment.

But at any rate, the prospect of fighting a fellow warrior was quite enticing the wild girl. Not that now was the time to be having such thoughts as it seemed like she had interrupted a meeting of sorts between heroes? Though it seemed like the spear was happy enough to have her around, she did frown a little. "Rivia is with Cole and Ferr, not just Ferr." She was quick to correct him, thinking back to when she joined them. She was told to work with the both of them after all, not just one or the other. She had mostly just been with Ferr because Cole seemed busy and Ferr wanted someone to train with.

At any rate, Rivia was happy enough to follow them, putting the bag that contained the last of the dango away. There was at least one more member of their party to share this with after all, so she was saving the last one for Auriel. And maybe also another one for later. Making sure to keep pace with them, she took this moment to approach Lev as they walked and take a few sniffs from the air around them, and also did the same to Edusa. This was her first time meeting them both proper, but they seemed fine enough by their scent? At least, nothing fishy stood out to her despite something seeming....off about the way the spear talked? Not that she was an expert on interactions or the like, so maybe it was just her.

"Right. Rivia, pleasure to meet the both of you. Are you friends of Ferr and Cole as well? Can Rivia also be your friend?" Taking a moment to introduce herself to both Edusa, seeing as they didnt talk last time, and Lev who she was meeting for the first time, she looked to Cole and tilted her head again. She seemed to be asking what they were doing, or maybe why they were out here? After all, she hadnt heard of any meeting nor knew of its impromtu status.

Unsuprisingly, the moment the Sneasals eyes locked onto Steph and Dusk its mind immediately went into a panic. After all, last it knew Steph was chasing it down then beating it in a battle and the red head had seemed rather mad at it. Though she couldnt say she had let the matter go entirely, the matter of the fact was that as Freya was now pointing out, it had seemed...reluctant to do so. The fact its partner was so happily ready to abandon it also told a story. They were hardly 'partners' in this at all. If anything, it seemed like the Sneasal had little choice but to follow the thief around. So it wasn't like Steph was forgiving the Sneasal or anything, but she was happy enough to ignore the matter. Best to leave the blame all on the selfish fuckwit who betrayed it.

"Yayh bud, yah deedn't saym ooll too hahppy weeth thaht guy. And sayin haow he trayted yah at the end theah, Oy cahn't blyme yah." Crossing her arms over her chest, she leaned back against a nearby tree and seemed to study the still hurting Sneasal for a moment. "As curious as Oy am t' ask abeow' yah and thaht fuckweets reluytion, t' be honest Oy dawnt knaow if Oy wahnna knaow. thaht lahst interahction tawld me enough. Yah desuhve why bettah thahn anythin thaht graysy sloimebohl could geeve yah and naows yoah chahnce t' do whuytevah yah wahnna do instayd. Just stie eow' of peoples belawngeengs eh?" She couldnt help the light hearted jab at the end, after all she hadn't forgiven the Sneasal for starting the mess. But forgiving and understanding didn't have to go hand in hand.

"spaykin of wheech, whahtcha gawnna do weeth em buysil? at the very layst, he nayds t' gao t' a pokecentah Oy reckawn t' geh' chaecked up. naevah knaow whaht else thaht sheettah diied t' hiiem befoah."

Unfortunate to hear mate, will miss Ferr but it is what it is. Best of luck to you and best wishes going forward.

On a semi related note, will look to post this weekend as I’ve got a lot of spare time over the Easter long weekend.

It was a good thing that Shiro was already ticked off, because oh boy was this fight just grinding on her nerves. Well, mostly the attitude of whoever this worm thought he was that she was currently struggling to finish off. Maybe a cockroach was a more apt why to describe him? At any rate, his binding was really hampering her and she was actually starting to hurt from all the blows she was receiving. Which might've seem odd at a glance, seeing as her defenses seemed fine moments before, but it seemed like this poacher was either too stupid or too arrogant to notice. However, before Shiro could do what she planned she still did need to either immobilize him or somehow deal with this sword lodged in her, removing access to her dominant side.

And it seemed like this sword also came with another issue, one she had considered happening but really hoped it wouldn't as she found herself dragged back and away suddenly. The pull of the sword too great as she found herself soon eating a face full of mud back in the center of the ring. Actually now that he mentioned it, where had that lously Henri gone? She had almost forgotten about him, such was her annoyance and attention directed towards Hagar.

But as she looked up, she was quick to notice just where he was. Currently in the midst of landing a solid uppercut to the leader of the poachers jaw and launching him out of the ring of blades that surrounded them. Why hadn't he done that sooner? Speaking of soon, she soon found herself pushed slightly to the side by the sudden appearance of a massive shark jaw, the caster of which she presumed was Henri considering the nature of the spell and the element it consisted of, which dislodged not only the sword binding her; but also made quick work of the wall of blades. Well, at least a fair chunk of it.

"If you could've done that earlier, why didn't you you buffoon?" Pinching the bridge of her noise, she just shook her head and sighed. No matter, there were bigger fish to fry. Stepping out through the entrance so handily made, she began scanning the area to find where Hagar was. She had unfinished business with that piece of shit.

It would seem like they were all done now with little issues bar this treant sap that Meredith had mentioned earlier. Hopefully it would go well without it, well it must really. Manami didn't know what would happen if it didn't, but one could easily assume it wasn't anything good. So it just had to work. If it wasn't going to, why would Meredith even bother making it after all?

But just as those thoughts were shaken out of her head came a loud crashing sound from below them. Confused and almost in a daze, she watched as Meredith and her two assistants ran down the stairs before shortly making her way after them. It seemed like Karla was in trouble from the sounds of it; and definitely by the looks of when when Manami found the state the room she had been left in was. Even to someone as inexperienced with the magical arts that the witches practiced, Manami found herself unable to ignore the miasma like sensation the room seemed to be covered in. Just what was this though? She didn't even have the chance to ask Meredith as she was already gone.

But at this moment she heard the older lady's voice call out to her, the purple haired girl running to the gaping hole and looking down at the predictament down below. Even with little context as to the state Karla was in, Manami wasn't an idiot. There was something seriously wrong with the usually soft spoken girl, lashing out and attacking her fellow witches. Let alone her deformed state. But more importantly, Bullet, Meredith and her assistants were in dire need of help as one of them seemed unconscious and the others fighting a losing battle as a thick bush of thorns erupted from the ground.

Feeling something wet and warm dripping from her hand, she looked down almost in shock as she realised while she had been standing there she had been clenching her fist that tightly that she had drawn blood. Her other hand clutching at her shirt in a tightly clumped ball as she thought a sudden pressure around her. They needed help and fast. The best course of action would be for her to get help no?

......wait no, there was no help. Everyone else had gone to help Talos right? Shit, fuck. The only people she knew might still be here was Zhulie or noncombatants. There was no guarantee of anyone being able to help. That meant...Manami herself had to do something. Manami was a mage, a strong one capable of fighting at that. But this sudden crippling feeling, this hesitation that set in even as she watched her new so called friends getting hurt...it made her freeze entirely. She even forgot to breath as memories, images flashed before her eyes.

She had to do it. She had no choice. She needed to do this. No one else could right? What was she doing then? She had sworn not to....but if now wasn't a time to use it, then when would she ever justify it?

"Arghhhhhhh! Fuck it!" Slamming her fist on the ground and ignoring the pain, she decided to once more call upon her magic. Delving into her greatest sin and regret for a good cause one last time, at least this was how she convinced herself. Snatching the vial that hung from her neck, she hurled it at Karla and made a clenched fist towards the girl. As if on cue, a radiant gold burst from the small vial, shattering the brittle container and began to expand rather rapidly into a watery hand the size of a small dog and go to grab Karla. "Karla, please stop this! Can't see you see you're hurting your friends goddamnit!" Calling out to her, even though she felt it to be hopeless, the former dark mage began to make her stand despite the pain and anger on her face.

If the hand managed to grab hold of the girl, she would immediately begin casting Soothing Waves through the hand. She didn't care how much of a burden this would place on her, she needed to calm down or snap Karla out of whatever this state she was in. For Meredith, this was the first use of magic she had seen Manami use since joining Wolven Pyre. In fact, any of the witches had seen. Yet despite it being as beautiful and radiant as the sun, there seemed to be a hidden darkness lurking about it.
