Damn right sleep was for the weak! She still had things she wanted to do before the day was out! Even if she had to stay up almost all night, she was going to go find those ruins! At least, until she felt like passing out. Then she might set up a place to sleep, but only then! Until then, she would power through. With her new friend added to the party, she would make her way through the passing cityscape and onto Route 4. Almost immediately, she felt way more at ease upon entering the route. She far preferred the openness of the wilderness and the outdoors to the cramped and enclosed nature of the bigger cities. With a feeling of liberation descending upon her, she would simply look to go and find those ruins she had heard the rumours about.
She wasn't sure if she would find anyone else wandering around at night to ask for directions, but if she did she would. Otherwise she would just make do with trying to find it herself!

Another thing she hadn't really thought of ahead of time with. With time running out in the day, it was starting to get dark. Now was exploring a region you've never been to in the dark a good thing to do on your literal first day there? Perhaps not. Did Steph particularly care? Not really actually. Most might want to go to the pokemon centre or find a camp for the night, but she didn't really have either cross her mind. Mostly because she was currently in the park grinding a bit more, but this was a very real issue she will have to confront. And she would confront it the only way she knew how.
By simply powering through like the champ she is.
But for now, her attention was drawn in by the cute little fire pupper she had come across. Look at the little tucker, just pawing at the ground! It was absolutely adorable! Well, suppose it was time to try for a quick capture at any rate so she can get out onto route 4 quicker.
So her plan was pretty short and simple, she would use a combination of Dusk and Vi to get it low and paralyze it with Nuzzle before going to catch it in a pokeball. She would also learn this way if it had flashfire as its ability, because she would use a combination of ember and astonish with Dusk, just obviously more astonish if it had flashfire.

At first, the sudden vibration in her pocket was startling. Steph wasn't a complete novice with tech mind you, but she also wasn't exactly an expert. She didn't know that when a message came through that it would suddenly just start squirming around like a Weedle! Bloody oath it gave her a shock! Fumbling around till she pulled out the vibrating piece of metal, Steph would proceed to squint at the screen as she processed Freya's response. Which....route she was going?
....Fuck.
Which way she was going to start her journey off in had completely slipped her mind! Her entire being had been so focused on getting her first pokemon, and then everything else had happened...fuck! Uh...ummm....huh.
Staring at the screen blankly, she fiddled around with the device to pull up a map of the region. She hadn't actually thought far enough ahead to plan out her departure from the city, but better late than never right? Now of course, looking at the map didn't do much for her as she had no idea what the route numbers or the city names meant. But...she remembered something about strange ruins on route 4? Which now that she looked, that should lead to Starbor, which she also remembered hearing something about.
Something about tree climbing equipment? She would have to look into it at any rate. And then further that way was also the Corrupted Marsh she had heard about prior. Well, that settled it then! She was going to head down route 4! She had only really heard of things along this side of the region other than she needed warmer clothing if she headed north; further evidence that heading south was better. Plus, if these ruins were anything like what she had heard, there was a chance of adding another ghost buddy for Dusk as well!
With her route planned in exactly 5 seconds, she texted back Freya once more.
'I'm going to head down route 4. Heard some fun sounding rumours about ruins, agitated wild pokemon and trees to climb along that path! Should be more fun than a Froakie in a glass of milk!'
With her message sent, she would soon find herself at the Grand Glory City park, and inevitably the school as she began her search for a Growlithe. Her aunt and uncle had an Arcanine back on the farm, so she had always wanted one of these adorable little buggers for herself! While she was here she figured she would get some training into Dennis and Vi, backing them up with Dusk if need be before she would go and catch a fire puppy.
Adelyn didn't pay Kiba much mind, which in all honesty to him was probably a good thing. Not that he really said or did anything to warrant much attention from the girl anyway. No, what made her look up from the countertop and finally pry her face away from the wood was Nolan. Now, some might find her glare intimidating, but to Nolan the annoyed look from some rich and pampered brat like Adelyn was hardly concerning no doubt. Honestly, it was akin to a small dog attempting to take on a larger dog.
"And what would you know of nobles and their lifestyles? Your outfit is so ratty it belongs in the sewer, let alone that mess that you call your hair. Looks like you got it styled while you were down there fishing out those rags." And here it came, not that Nolan was paying her much mind as he had anticipated it. She seemed to be one who was quick to draw ire from, but even by her low standards this was fast. Today especially seemed to have put her into something of a mood which was more akin to what she was calling Nolan out for.
"For starters, in the world of the civilised and well mannered, far more proper and actual music would be used to soothe and appease ones eardrums; not threaten to burst them like the overgrown zit which resembles your face. Secondly, it wouldn't rouse such-HEY WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE TOUCHING!" She continued to berate and insult him right up until she found herself being shoved down from above. Almost immediately, Nolan would feel it. A surge of electricity shot up through his arm, though it wasn't particularly powerful and seemed more like a reflex than much else. Like a static shock after going down a slide or the like.
Though far more noticeable was how flustered the girl became. Startlingly so, as during this she had also tried to shove him in the chest, but due to the size and weight difference only managed to fall off her stool and flat on her ass, her face more resembling the colour of her earring. Now it was obvious she was embarrassed about falling off the stool, but it was only amplified by the amount of attention her yelling may have garnered from those immediately around of them. Luckily for her, most would be too busy with the festivities but a few murmurs and looks would no doubt be thrown their way, only infuriating the girl further as her pride seemed to return with aplomp, getting up and dusting herself off while still remaining redder than a European after a day in the sun.
"This is exactly what I was denoting previous. Your sort are uncouth and barbaric with no sense of manners or courtesy! The absolute nerve to just go around and t-touch a ladies head like that was a bar I was thinking too low for even an annelida like yourself to reach. Yet your inadequacy continues to astound me!" Like the aforementioned dog analogy previous, Adelyn was back to yapping at Nolan in some form of attempt to act as if she hadn't just fallen over of her own accord. Still, her reaction to it had seemed a fair bit over the top and she was very quick to try and bury the situation.
And just at that moment, a new person appeared to join their little uh...what would one call this gathering at the bar? None of them were here together nor really wanting to be together. Well, whatever the group would be called, they seemed to have a new person joining them. Her positive smile a stark contrast to the negativity or aloofness of those present, which just made Adelyn scowl deepen. Oh man, she really was in some sort of foul mood that only seemed to be getting worse, even if so far it had been self inflicted harm more than any outsider influence from their point of view. But here we go again....
"Song? A song should be melodious and soothing, not grating and discordant. I would hardly call that a 'song', let alone music. It would be insulting to those of the musical arts to consider it such. As for her voice? I...guess it was ok. Not that I could make it out from the racket that surrounded it or followed. Still, it didn't make my head wish to implode so it wasn't too bad in comparison." It was a subtle change, but a change nonetheless in Adelyn's tone as she turned away and looked over at the where the band was playing. A twinge of something that wasn't just bitterness. Genuineness? Nah, couldn't be. But there was something.
Turning back, her eyes narrowed once more at Nolan. Now she wasn't spineless by any means, if anything she seemed to have way more confidence and courage than she should. Or maybe she was just that fuelled by spite, bitterness and pride. Who knew, honestly. But as much as she wanted to say or do something further...well she wasn't an idiot. Starting a fight with Nolan would only end badly in her favour, it didn't take much to know of the gulf in magical ability which just made her click in tongue and look away from him again. What a waste of magical talent.

With the Trubbish dealt with, Steph was quick to scoop up Dusk and return Dennis and Jack, the former assuming the poisonous gas was gone now of course, turning to face the Toxel as it approached her. The way it had come up and began to nuzzle against her leg and just the tone it used made understanding it pretty easily, yet Steph still couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
Yya shooah bud? Oy only wahnted t' haelp aguynst thaem gutless Trecko's cause thy weah troyin t' guyng up on ya, ya daon't nayd t' come weeth if yah ya daon't wahnna." Yet even as she said that, she could see it's determination in the pokemon's eyes. A kindred spirit perhaps? She seemed pretty eager and keen to join anyway, so why not? Steph knew full well how strong a Toxel could become and having a mon that reminded her of home would only be a good thing right?
"Oolroigh', buh' Oy'mma trine and droive ya hahd gawt ih'? Ine't nao pahssengahs on thiies trine, ya ooll gawtta pull ya wuyt gawtcha?" Receiving a furious amount of nodding in return, Steph smiled and accepted the Toxel's resolve, pulling out a pokeball and offering it to her. Which the Toxel immediately headbutted! Activating the button and disappearing in a flash of light soon after. "Hahppy t' hahve ya on the taym Vi! naow. ..laeh''s gao geh' ya foixed up Dusk ol' pahl."
With her new party member in tow, she sent the Trubbish to the pc upon receiving the prompt from her pokedex and went to leave before a strange ooze caught her eye. The hell was that? She wasn't sure, but it looked pretty awesome! Walking over and picking it up like it was the most natural thing in the world, she would soon make her leave of the sewers and rush to get her partner to a pokemon center. Maybe she should invest in some antidotes before she left? She would have to consider it, but first things first, once she was out of the sewer and had her team healed, she would make her way to the park that Freya had mentioned. Well, not before a bath that nurse joy forced upon the girl; because like hell she was having that girl stink the place up while she waited!
On her way, she would flick Freya a text like the girl had said to now that she was done, hair still drying in the sunlight, or whatever remained of it. The context of the message was, unlike her speech, perfectly easy to understand, if a bit blunt and to the point.
Done with the sewers, got a sweet Toxel out of it. Gonna head to the park if you wanna meet up before I plan on leaving the town, if you wanna come with.
With the message out of the way, she now gunned for that park. She wasn't leaving town without one of those cute puppers.
Affiliation: Rising Starborn, the guild mark can be found on her stomach and is a light yellow color
Personal
Personality: If one were to describe Akemi after meeting her for the first time, words such as cold, calm, or collected would be the first to spring to mind. And from the outside, this very much is the truth. But what is shown on the outside isn't always reflective of what's on the inside; despite popular opinion, Akemi is actually a rather emotionally fragile individual who, despite her best efforts, is simply unable to express herself in what many would deem a conventional manner. While she tries her best to interact with others, her almost unnatural disconnection from others is laughable at best, and absolutely pathetic at worst. While most might be more openly expressive than Akemi about their emotions, Akemi has far more simple and subtle changes in body language, tone, and eyes which generally only those that know the girl are able to pick up on.
Innocent and pure-minded, Akemi has a naive mindset and is a rather gullible and impressionable person with a rather childish view of the world, seeing and believing everything as white or black and ignorant of the gray in between, in part due to her incomplete learning and her sheltered life. Between this and her honest, open nature she tends to sprout nonsense that embarrasses those around her or cause/lead to several misunderstandings. She is of the belief that those with power should always protect those without, and will not hesitate in her convictions to let those that bully those weaker than themselves know this very simple message.
Within Akemi burns a surprisingly hot passion to be of use to those around her, her main belief is that if she can protect others then that is what she should strive to do no matter the cost to herself.
Strengths: Loyalty is a virtue: As anyone close to her can attest to, if one is to befriend Akemi then they would have a friend for life, through thick and thin, and she is just able willing to do anything to help them.
Justice Always Prevails: The strong should protect the weak, a simple belief that Akemi follows with surprisingly stubbornness. She (almost) never relents on this very simple belief, and so long as she believes Justice is on her side she believes good will always pull through
Forever an Optimist: No matter how bleak a scenario may become, Akemi looks to keep focused on the possibilities of the future rather than the bleakness of the now, believing that there's always a way out so long as they kept fighting for it.
Weaknesses: Sickly Girl: Despite her vastly improved health, she is still rather inclined to sudden fevers and illnesses, especially if she overuses her magic.
Inexperience Is Costly: Due to her upbringing, Akemi is inexperienced both with reality and fighting, and this very much shows when she struggles to cope with dirty tactics or deceitful or misleading people
Wants To Please: Having grown up neglected by her father, Akemi simply desires praise or acknowledgment from those around her, doing things that might be dangerous if she believes it will be of help.
Backstory: Akemi grew up never knowing her mother, who died due to complications during childbirth, and was neglected by her father for reasons unknown to even herself, and thus her parents were absent during most of her childhood. As such her upbringing differed from the rest of the families that are descended from the Uru. Owing to the neglect from her father and her own weak constitution when she was younger, she lived a life cut off from the outside world, for the most part, the only time she ventured out was with her grandparents, her education also coming from her elderly relations. The Uru are a tight-knit community, however, so it was only a matter of time before others began butting in when her grandparents inevitably took her in when she was about six years old. Namely, the best friend of her grandfather, who would bring his grandson along to visit the girl whenever he did. The boy's name was Zenith, and despite some particularly awkward first interactions, as the girl was shy and unsure how to act towards the older boy, she eventually warmed up and the two became almost inseparable during gatherings or when he visited her, the younger girl trailing after him like a lost puppy.
She grew up looking up to the older boy, viewing him as the older sibling she never had and something to aspire to become. As time passed and she became of age, her grandparents would inevitably introduce her to the Take Over that their family specialized in, Angel Soul, despite heavy protest from her father. He would eventually relent as it would soon become known that she had already learned the magic; it was hereditary and had awakened within her, thus she would require training to learn how to control her newfound powers. As such she began to spend even more time around Zen, often getting a helping hand from the older boy passing tips onto the girl which she happily accepted. Zen would be her main sparring partner for the next few years, the fact that she never once beat him coming as no surprise. This only spurred her on to try harder, which in turn would cause her frail health to decline rapidly at times.
Despite missing often significant time due to illness, the girl proceeded to make steady progress on both her studies and her magic, though she had a noticeable drop in performance when Zen first left to join the knights. Though the dip didn't last long as she aspired to join the knights much like their own families had done and achieve her desire to protect the weak. She is still unaware of what transpired with Zen, her grandparents keeping her in the dark purposely to avoid the long, awkward explanation they would have to give. Besides, it wasn't their place to explain it but Zen's, and when she inquired him about it she keeps getting a 'when you're older' sort of response.
When Zen decided it was in his best interest to leave the country and see if other countries had better to offer, her grandparents asked him to take her with them despite her father's protests and objections to the matter. When the subject was brought up with Akemi, she gladly took the chance to go with Zen though a little hesitant at first. Not because of her father and how he might think, or because of her lack of experience with the outside world, no she was first and foremost worried about being a burden by becoming ill and having to have Zen look after her. Though with assurances that she wouldn't be a burden even if that did happen, that was all they wrote on the topic before she packed a few things and left with her brother figure.
That isn't to say their journey was without hiccups. A few bandit issues here, a squabble with some petty knights there, Akemi getting lost in a city, you know all that fun stuff. Eventually, they would reach Pergrande with little issues, or at least nothing major. Once there, they stumbled upon rumors of guilds, traditional guilds, attempting to start up in the country and this peaked both the mages interest. Especially when they heard of one such guild known as Rising Starborn, and the potential of a mage within who can help Akemi with her condition.
Magic
Take Over Angel Soul-B Rank
A form of Take Over magic passed down within a certain sect of the Uru tribe, and can only be utilized by this same sect due to their bloodline being blessed by the Archangel Uriel, their abilities mostly centering around this Angel in particular though they are capable of learning others if the chance to acquire them arises, whether thats through more traditional take over methods, being blessed in the same vein as Uriel or however. Unlike other Take Over magics, each form has a number of stages one must clear before they are able to fully master the full powers of an Angel. Uriel has 4 stages, Akemi at her current level has mastered Stage 1 and is in the process of learning stage 2.
The basic, partial transformation stage of Angel Soul. In this stage, Akemi is granted access to Light magic at the most basic level as well as some more advanced spells and enhanced physical abilities. When activated, a soft glow seems to envelop Akemi as a halo also appears atop her head.
Beyond generic light magic spells, her notable spells in this form include: Angels Judgement: The most powerful spell in Stage 1's arsenal, Akemi traps her target inside a magic circle and brings down the full wrath of heaven atop her opponent in a massive beam of light.
Aegis: A forcefield appears around Akemi and shelters her from most attacks, though most S-rank mages should be able to break through this with little effort, A ranks a little harder while fellow B-ranks will struggle without some fire power.
Healing Grace: So long as Akemi keeps physical contact with her target, she is able to heal them of most minor wounds such as scratches or bruises in no time, however, more severe ones will take some time and magical energy to deal with.
Light Arrow Volley: As the name implies, she is able to fire a volley of arrows made from light at her target. She is able to change this out for any weapon she desires, though she seems to prefer the use of arrows.
The 2nd partial transformation of Uriel, her glowing becomes rather noticeable at this point, as well as the fact she sprouts a pair of pure white wings (which are capable of flight) and her enhancements become noticeably stronger. She has yet to get the hang of this form and thus is her last-ditch trump card at this point in time.
Her light magic becomes stronger while she also gains access to new spells, notably some support spells, as well such as: Bless: By placing her hand on an ally, a magic circle will appear which will give her ally a noticeable buff in their magical and physical abilities for around 2 minutes. To reactive, she will require to touch the same spot, though too many casts of bless on the same target over a ten minute period will not only reduce the effect, but also cause fatigue for the target.
Uriel's Light: By condensing her magic into a sphere, she is able to create a flash of powerful light magic that empowers all of her allies and weakens any she deems an enemy within a roughly 10 meter radius from where she launches the sphere.
Uriel's Guardians: Akemi is able to create beings of light to fight at her side, generally taking the shape of whatever she wishes though they're more commonly seen as 'Angel's'.
Aegis Armour: A variant of the Aegis spell, instead of creating a shield of light around Akemi it instead coats Akemi in a layer of light that protects her in a similar manner. She is also able to cast this on others, though she is unable to use it on herself in this case.
Aegis 2nd Stage: much the same as the 1st stage, however Akemi is able to target allies and cast it on them as well, able to target up to 3 allies. Unlike the armour variant, she can still use it on herself but must be counted amongst the three.
Angelic
While her powers are currently unknown in this stage, as she has yet to reach it, the only thing certain is that she will grow a 2nd set of wings and her iris's will become cross-shaped. Holy energy will radiate off every fiber of her being as she will soon reach the perfection of Uriel.
At this stage, she will have mastered Angel Soul: Uriel and become the embodiment of his full power. She'll have grown a 3rd set of wings, the color has changed to a dark red as her halo will become fiery in appearance and she will gain access to fire magic to enhance her light magic.

Ok, so...that was most certainly not the intention with the ice shard but Steph was a bit preoccupied to care much! It took out one, and the capture of the paralyzed one took out two. It was just the two wankers spewing toxic gas everywhere and some unlucky sod who was still reeling back from the ice shard, solid. She could still see that Dusk was up and standing, if only barely so it was maybe time she wrapped this up. The sooner she did and got out of the sewers meant the sooner she got out of the city after all.
"Dennis, troy and kayp the poisawn gahs off yoahsself and Jack the baest yah cahn oolroigh'! Jack, taych thaese roigh' ol' cunts haow hahd yah cahn hiieh' em weeth an ice shahd righto!" With her two mons given their marching orders, Jack backed up away from the gas as best he could while firing ice shards back into the smog where the trubbish's had been just prior, whereas Dennis just...kept flapping his wings I guess. Was he tired of doing that? Maybe, but between the poison gas in front of him and the terrifying bogan behind him, that was enough of a stick to keep going.
Dusk now was turning his attention to the trubbish rubbing its eyes, and an idea popped into the candles mind. What if he tried to knock it into the water to get it washed away also? His trainer was a bit preoccupied after all, so he decided this was currently his best course of action to try and make it easier for her. So now Dusk began charging at the poor trubbish, firing off a couple of embers as he made his way over, before attempting to smash into it with astonish and knock it into the sewer water behind(or beside?) of it.
Whereas most of the guild seemed happy enough dancing along to the tunes being provided by the guild master, others seemed content with just sitting back and enjoying the festive atmosphere, there of course remained the few that wanted nothing to do with this. Some sat at the bar, some left the guild hall when they saw what was being set up, while one person, in particular, had holed themselves up in a corner of the guild hall by her lonesome. Of course, many had tried to approach the girl in the corner before, only to be swiftly rejected through the giving of a cold shoulder or for those truly unlucky, a verbal barrage that made fighting a pack of hungry wolves bare-handed with no magic a far more enticing prospect.
The girl screamed of pedigree and privilege in appearance, fair skin, silky, silvery hair that framed a comely profile and seemed to almost shine in the lights of the guild hall and striking blood-red orbs fixated on the book before her, eyes darting across the pages at an increasingly vexed manner as the music continued to play and the vocals filled the air. Eventually, her raising and visible irritation seemed to reach boiling point as she slammed her book shut, the cover of which was in stark contrast to her well-kept attire in its currently disheveled and deteriorated state to which the title The Last Knight was barely visible even from as close as Adelyn was.
"This place can't be quiet for longer than five minutes can it?" The girl grumbled to no one in particular, the book in her hand vanishing in a brief flash of light as it returned to her pocket library. It was one of a small collection of books she had managed to salvage before her life had come crashing down on her, and it was cases like this where Requip magic was very handy to stow and retrieve them with.
Yet normally music was an art form in which she took pleasure in partaking in, but much to how she looked, she very much stuck her nose up at whatever this bashing of the senses was. Did it really have to be so obnoxiously loud and in your face? Music should be far, far, far more subtle and calming, it should soothe the soul, not threaten to burst your eardrums! Yet, it was lucky for her she was as far away as possible from it as it meant it was quieter. However, the downside meant if she wanted to escape the music, she would have to go closer and risk going through the crowd dancing along or simply stay where she was and suffer it. Neither situation really appealed to the girl, and honestly, she didn't want to get anywhere near some of the rowdier or more uncouth sorts so she decided to try and skirt around as much of it as possible, eventually leading her to the bar and upon realizing it would probably just be better to wait out the music, she just decided to stay there as she sat down on a stool and quite gracefully sprawled herself out over the counter.
Aka she just smacked her forehead into it and sat there, thinking maybe if she gave herself a big enough headache it would drown out the music. Spoiler, it didn't.
"Honestly, uncivilized mongrels don't need much of an excuse to make a ruckus like this." Sure, Nolan wasn't really asking anyone and probably wasn't expecting an answer, but the girl just seemed to answer on impulse upon hearing someone ask the question without thinking even about who was asking, nor raising her face which was currently becoming one with the countertop as she spoke. "How anyone finds this brash and loud nonsensical clangor enjoyable is beyond my comprehension."

Fighting a multi battle on her first day wasn't exactly on her radar before this whole mess down here, but it seemed like she wouldn't have much of a choice here. They were splitting up to attack Jack and Dennis for the most part, her gaze moving to the struggling Dusk. Not in terms of actually fighting them, but from the poison which afflicted her partner. She just needed him to hang in a little longer....
But first, she had to deal with the 4 attackers coming at her other two pokemon. Time was running out to think of what to do next as her mind frantically ran through her options. If she had Dennis stop using gust, then considering there was no wind going either way, then the gas would no doubt start creeping back this way....but Dusk was a bit far away from Dennis to be of much use plus it seemed like her partner was gunning right for that paralysed Trubbish to smash its head in with an astonish or two. Maybe take out the pain it was feeling with an ember, so she left Dusk to his own devices to do that which allowed her to come to a decision.
"Ook Jack, use ice shahd on the ground t' cause a deestrahction, thaen layp off the wohl and intuhcept the two crooks troyin t' jump Dennis weeth a scrahtch on bawth! Dennis, kayp up the gust buh' haelp eow' Jack weeth a leeuh!" Was it the best move? Maybe not, but she had to try and keep the two off of Dennis, and with any luck she could take them out quick.
Though a thought did occur to her...what if she just caught one of the trubbishs? That would help narrow down their numbers, and if her memory served her correctly their evolved form was pretty strong, so there was only positives for trying to catch one and the only real risk was she maybe wasted one of her pokeballs. It was worth a shot at any rate. So with that thought in mind, she focused onto whatever one was the one that looked like it was nearly down for the count and wound her arm back before hurling the ball in its direction.
While it is a magic passed down through the generations of her family, no two users are ever the same, the magic molding and shaping itself to suit the user, with the grimoire manifesting itself as an extension of the user through their magic. In Adelyn’s case, she uses lightning and electrical based magic, including thunder.
While her grimoire is in her possession, her magic is tenfold to what it would be without it, this is especially prevalent when she wields her grimoire, though she isn’t entirely without magic with it stowed away, gaining some access to some minor abilities and the like, just weakened versions.
Each spell a user knows is stored on a separate page within the grimoire, a new page forming with every new spell learned, with the more pages a user has the more powerful they are. Adelyn herself only has five pages currently.
1. Charge: This spell allows Adelyn to generate and store electricity within herself, a more generic passive spell that is always in place. While this is an ability she can use without her grimoire, it is used furthermore with her grimoire to use or empower her other spells. It does have a slight downside of occasionally shocking people if they touch her, but it is what it is, and whenever she is low on power she seems to become more lethargic till she has time to store more.
2. Lightning Wall: As the name suggests, she creates a wall of electrical energy to help defend, deflect or deter attacks.
3. Lightning Rod: When her grimoire is out, it allows her to absorb others lightning magic and even draws it to herself, and while it reduces the damage actually taken it doesn’t nullify it entirely.
4. Overcharge: By sending electrical impulses through herself or others body, she can temporarily boost their reaction time, their movement capabilities and a minor boost to physical abilities. Continuous casting causes the target(s) to become exhausted however, as their bodies are pushed beyond their normal limits.
5. Electrotherapy: Similar to Overcharge, however this time it revolves around causing a users body to begin the healing process at a faster rate, allowing them to heal from injuries faster. Naturally, this does have its limits though.
She does have more generic abilities such as the ability to shock people she touches using generated energy from Charge or shoot a bolt of electricity, but they’re more akin to cantrips than spells and don’t require the use of her grimoire.
Furthermore, the grimoire is an individualized magical item, with only the creator and current user able to wield it, becoming nothing but a useless pile of blank pages to anyone else, though another user of grimoire magic can discern what spells and type of magic it contains. Upon the user's death, the grimoire will stay around and while it becomes readable for all, none are able to wield the magic it contains.
Requip Magic
Her family were all taught requip magic as well as a more generic skill, with this she can retrieve and dismiss items and its more used for that purpose than much else. It also allows for a quicker change between outfits.
Magic Level:
C
History:
Due to her cold and cynical attitude to most, Adelyn doesn’t talk much to the majority of the guild, let alone her past. Whenever asked, she scoffs and looks down (well, technically up…) on whoever asked and tells them it's none of their business. As such not much is known about her amongst her fellow guild members post joining.
What is known however is that Adelyn was recruited by Jenna after a job involving bandits, and that with nowhere else to go after an incident that while Adelyn hadn’t really gone into the details, seemed to have lost her entire family, the young girl had joined the guild.
Personality:
Adelyn is a young woman who carries a certain amount of grace and elegance about her, brought about by her presumably luxurious upbringing. She is stoic, yet snarky. Cold, yet caring to those close to her, not that there are many. Cynical to most she meets, yet for the most part, trusting. While sheltered and ignorant of most things known as common sense, she has a strong sense of duty and justice and is no less stubborn than the next mage.
Despite the circumstances that surrounded her family as she grew up, she seems to have developed a vain and shallow streak matched only by her seemingly proud and stubborn nature. Her family is a sore topic for her, despite her seemingly taking great pride in her family name, and seems quick to change the subject, especially around those from outside the guild.
Despite this, she is eager to prove her own worth and usefulness despite her own hidden doubts. After all, how is someone as weak as her meant to rebuild her family’s name?
“My name is Adelyn. Adelyn Amberfield, you would do well to remember it.”
Guild and guild mark location:
Rising Starborn, a dark red on the back of her left hand
Team Members:
None, who in their right mind would work with her lol
Three Strengths:
1. Reading a lot of books = knowing a fair bit
2. Dealing with nobility, as she seems to know the ins and outs, the do’s and the don’ts around them
3. Once she sets herself to a task, she will see it through
Three Weaknesses:
1. Her stubbornness and pride get her in deep water
2. Her desperation to prove herself is her undoing
3. Frail. Make like how she appears, she isn’t exactly built to be hit Appearance:
Additional Details:
She also owns various books of various genres. Fantasy, romance, educational, dictionaries. You name the genre, she probably has a book of it somewhere in her collection.
The red earring she always wears is a family tradition, every member of the Amberfield family owns and wears it at all times. It is rumoured to ward off bad luck and spirits.
Her blue gem pendant is her most treasured possession, though she will refuse to elaborate on why beyond it was a gift
Akemi
"To prove my worth, I will protect everyone."
Essentials
Full Name: Akemi Astri Desdemona
Nickname(s): Kemi, Kem
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Birthday: 21/06
Other
Claims to be the younger sister of Zenith Zillard, and while not entirely untrue they are not actually related beyond their ties to the Uru tribe
