As Nathaniel returned to his room after his shower, his ears had finally stopped ringing from the early morning wake-up call. He wondered just who thought it was a good idea to wake up the students like that, since it would probably cause students to be less alert than waking up normally.

Regardless, Nathaniel had learned from his mistakes yesterday, so he made sure to dress simple today. He reached into his closet and pulled out a light-blue shirt, since wearing light colors in the desert was probably a smart idea. He also pulled out a pair of jeans and another set of his Earth dorm uniform.

As he got dressed, he took a look around his room, which was as bare-bones as ever. He had asked for a small refrigerator and a laptop, but since those have not arrived yet, he was stuck with his basic Earth dorm living commodities, which really wasn't much. He walked over to his desk, on top of which laid his D-Ceiver, his Duel Disk, his deck, and a pile of cards from the packs he ripped open last night. There really wasn't much in there. There were a bunch of Pendulums, which he didn't want, and a bunch of Destruction Sword cards, which, as cute as they were, he couldn't use. There were a bunch of other stuff too, but the real prize of his pull laid on top of the pile. Performapal Rain Goat. It had zero Attack and Defense points, but Nathaniel knew better than anyone that it wasn't just numbers that makes a card useful. Plus, he needed something to replace Fluffal Mouse. Seriously, why was that card in there? Taking the card from the top of the pile and sliding it in his deck, Nathaniel grabbed the rest of his gear and headed out for breakfast.

The cafeteria was crowded, but Nathaniel managed to get his bowl of cereal with a bit of waiting. As the area was becoming more congested, empty tables seemed to be in short supply. Surveying the area, Nathaniel found a round table which didn't seem to be too crowded. In fact, as Nathaniel walked closer, he realized that there was only one kid sitting at the table. Okay, that was pretty sad. Taking a seat across from him, Nathaniel gave a friendly "Hey." before stuffing spoonfuls of cereal in his mouth.

Tell me.

edit: i now know why we can't have duel spirits

Or nice things. Like magic ghost alien armies.
Holy cracker jacks, did someone mention East Academy?!

Boy howdy, is that a fun story...

...That I will not tell in the OOC thread because I wouldn't want us to get off-topic here.

But if any of you ARE interested in hearing a tale of hubris, betrayal, and an army of infinite magic ghost aliens, I'm more than happy to give a dramatic retelling of one of my favourite train wrecks of all time over PMs.

Yeah... add me to this conversation, because I do not trust Evii to cover all the bases here.

It is best to remain in the dark on this one.

DAMN IT! STOP MAKING ME LIKE YOU!
<Snipped quote by LunarStandard>

Mhm. I actually have no idea of how that went down, so don't worry. If I fuck up it's @1Charak2's fault :3

Srs, tho. The similarities between this RP and East are hilarious.

We went in there with so much hope... and all we got... WAS DESPAIR!

From what I'm seeing, you're handling this RP a lot better than how East Academy was handled. Plus, if this RP ever goes East, so to speak, Evii and I will be sure to let you know.

Or jump ship. You'll know when it happens.
<Snipped quote by LunarStandard>

OH BUT I DO.

OH NO!

For the sake of my sanity and yours, I really hope this does not turn out like East Academy.
<Snipped quote by 1Charak2>

I'm also not going to let it. And East academy was more popular, I believe.

(only like 4 people will get what I mean with that)

Please don't tell me you mean...
well great i need to change my post AGAIN! im so damn slow... because of that drama that happened to me... my life fucking sucks

like im overwhelmed by the number of posts made while i was making my own post that was supposed to happen during all that but now all that has happened whatever i type it wont be justified

Aren't we about to move on to the next day, anyway?
Nathaniel figured that further conversation was probably out of the question. So, standing there waiting for the elevator to drop him off at his floor with not much else to do, Nathaniel figured now was a good time for a little reflection.

His time here didn't start out so great. In fact, it started out in the worst way possible, and it landed him in Earth. Following that, he had started his first day of classes with some pretty terrible clothing choices, something he resolved to fix in the future. The saving grace of his time here had been meeting Camryn and Megan, and being a part of a pretty great Action Duel. Not to mention, a duel that he actually managed to win.

Nathaniel allowed himself to have a little bit of hope. Maybe his luck really is turning around. He felt great. So great, in fact, that he bet he could take on the guy next to him in a duel and beat him every time.

He quickly shook that thought out of his mind, as something told him that might not work out too well for either of them. Plus, the guy looked like he could snap Nathaniel like a twig. Probably best not to aggravate him.

DING

The soothing chime of the elevator bell signaled the two students' arrival at their destination. Nathaniel raised his hand slightly in farewell before heading off towards the direction of his room.

"Well, my room's this way, so I guess I'll see you later."
Texas, huh? Well, that was certainly different than where Nathaniel calls home. Nathaniel wasn't sure if they had much in common other than... maybe liking Lynyrd Skynyrd? Regardless, the mood around them had been pretty awkward for a while now. If Nathaniel can just find a way to leave the scene then...

"You know the way back to the dorm?"

There it was. That was the ticket out. Tucking the packs he had just bought into the chest pocket of his uniform, Nathaniel pointed towards the elevator outside the card shop.

"Yeah, dorms are underground. We can get there through the elevator over there. Speaking of which, it's probably time we headed back. Come on, I can show you the way." With that, Nathaniel headed to the elevator and pressed the down button, expecting Brad to follow. This was a tiring day, and he really needed a shower. He can open up his packs after that.
