As Nathaniel returned to his room after his shower, his ears had finally stopped ringing from the early morning wake-up call. He wondered just who thought it was a good idea to wake up the students like that, since it would probably cause students to be less alert than waking up normally.
Regardless, Nathaniel had learned from his mistakes yesterday, so he made sure to dress simple today. He reached into his closet and pulled out a light-blue shirt, since wearing light colors in the desert was probably a smart idea. He also pulled out a pair of jeans and another set of his Earth dorm uniform.
As he got dressed, he took a look around his room, which was as bare-bones as ever. He had asked for a small refrigerator and a laptop, but since those have not arrived yet, he was stuck with his basic Earth dorm living commodities, which really wasn't much. He walked over to his desk, on top of which laid his D-Ceiver, his Duel Disk, his deck, and a pile of cards from the packs he ripped open last night. There really wasn't much in there. There were a bunch of Pendulums, which he didn't want, and a bunch of Destruction Sword cards, which, as cute as they were, he couldn't use. There were a bunch of other stuff too, but the real prize of his pull laid on top of the pile. Performapal Rain Goat. It had zero Attack and Defense points, but Nathaniel knew better than anyone that it wasn't just numbers that makes a card useful. Plus, he needed something to replace Fluffal Mouse. Seriously, why was that card in there? Taking the card from the top of the pile and sliding it in his deck, Nathaniel grabbed the rest of his gear and headed out for breakfast.
The cafeteria was crowded, but Nathaniel managed to get his bowl of cereal with a bit of waiting. As the area was becoming more congested, empty tables seemed to be in short supply. Surveying the area, Nathaniel found a round table which didn't seem to be too crowded. In fact, as Nathaniel walked closer, he realized that there was only one kid sitting at the table. Okay, that was pretty sad. Taking a seat across from him, Nathaniel gave a friendly "Hey." before stuffing spoonfuls of cereal in his mouth.
