Current I love hunt showdown. nothing like talking shit in prox chat while having a friendly cowboy shootout over a bayou bounty. Now I just need to acquire skill over ungodly amount of hours playing the game

It's crazy to see another furry in the wild. Well, back to my hidey-hole.

Angus McSix and the Sword of Power is a pretty damn good album. I was hesitant about Thomas Winkler's new band after being booted from Gloryhammer but my worry was unfounded. He is def back one better

What's all this about DnD, where my CoC bois at who enjoy the game where every encounter can be a TPK, never use magic unless you want to die, and where you never save the day but delay the inevitable

It's like Starcraft but you don't have to be a Korean to win and clicking really, really fast does not help. Also, the UEF has ghetto gunships better than their own specifically designed gunships.
@Utrax

...I hope our characters get to interact eventually!...

Might happen sooner rather than eventually as I am also writing in the same plot (whatever it was called, the edge of darkness?). Maybe our characters could exchange war stories. Would give me an opportunity to develop mine's backstory a bit. Would show why he acts the way he does sometimes.
@BlackSam3091It was just on my mind at the time. Can't wait for Call of Cthulhu: The official game (different developer, likely will have nothing to do with DCotE unless it uses source material from the Shadow Over Insmouth).

If you still want someone to make you feel less nerdy, PM me and I'll start discussing things like Quantum Physics or Machine learning.

WEEK 05: Last week, we talked about being bad. So this week lets talk about those darn goody-two-shoes types. Why are people drawn to being good? What exactly is it that makes playing a hero appealing, and what makes a good hero? How dark can a hero be while still being good and how light can a hero be before they're unbearable? What are some of the heroic archetypes you look to when designing your defenders of truth, justice and the American Way liberty?

Why are people being drawn to being good? A bit vague of a question, I assume you mean a 'thwart villainous plan' good and not 'donate to charity' good. If that is the case then it likely is because they can't stand villains or want to protect others.

As for character types I like to use, I generally stick in between good and evil. Something like 'the ends justify the means'/'for the greater good' kinda person as sometimes controversial decisions need to be made in order to secure peace/prosperity/etc. It's more grounded in reality that way than solving a crisis with little to non-existent negative results. Such as with Fatman and little boy, or the atomic bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima respectively. It was a quick and less deadly end to the war than the alternative, Operation Downfall.
@Lord Wraith

Just meant that you will not have to put as much time/effort into NPCs. Whether that is something you did or did not want to do is not what I was saying.

Also, this month on the 19-25th I will be traveling to DC to do standard tourist in DC stuff that I don't even remember how I got roped into going but free plane ticket and hotel room so I'm not complaining. I may delay a post (if applicable) if the Wi-fi sucks (Like Hell I'm leaving my laptop) or I might not be delayed in writing depending on the activities.

Now to get mentally prepared to order BYOC tickets at Quakecon, I missed both BlizzCon ticket waves so I'll be dammed if I miss my alternative...

Another villain! Slowly amongst the shadows our power grows. :D

Dear God, They're multiplying!

But yea, more villains would be nice. Less strain for GM.

Oh yeah. Eli's going to be the prime suspect. What are the chances there's another vampire running around the city?

*gets popcorn*

Cheers guys. Seeing you all speak about games I've never heard of, I can honestly say that I've never felt like less of a nerd in my life.

I know a fair amount of under appreciated games. If you like horror type of games and don't mind playing one from 2005, I'd recommend Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. One of the few things that does Lovecraftian horror right. You can get it on steam for $4.99.

@Lord Wraith Looks good, trying to get a few ideas on what to do.

A town plunged in darkness usually means an increase in crime, not to mention it would help Gavin remain hidden and allow him to observe the area unsolicited as he formulates a plan.

A relativly small crime organization getting their hands on some serious munitions (and by mentally immature teens no less) would be disastrous for the populace. Gavin would need to take care to avoid fatally injuring someone, especially considering having a gun aimed at you is not a pleasant experience.

And lastly, Vampire or guy trying to misdirect the blame? Vampire makes the most sense but, does that make other fantastical beasts such as werewolves a possibility? Probably not vampire, insufficient evidence to conclude with any amount of certainty. Need more information to conclusively answer. What about man? Is it possible to drain victims of blood using readily available methods? If then, what use would one have for blood if not for sustenance. Some individuals believe drinking blood from young adults/teens can extend ones lifespan, perhaps this individual thinks the same. Would require all victims to be before a certain age, or at least look young. Otherwise need to discard theory. Alternate possibility- for the fun of it. Individual's sanity may be questionable, a reason for the deed could be artificially crafted and appear reasonable to someone who loses logic. Theory possible, unlikely however. Again insufficient evidence. Conclusion- unable to determine likely culprit. likely to be a human (not vampire) for reasons unknown.

Absolutely not.

How bout we go with SupCom?

My preferred RTS. It's like Starcraft but APM takes a back seat to actual strategy. Also Ghetto Gunships
Smite references? In my RP?

Well, would you prefer Red Alert references?
