Slightly surprised that the other woman was actually her escort, she smiled slightly at the compliment. She did find it interesting that this pretty woman - Anna - was able to pick up on one of her traits so quickly, but then again how hard was it really when she was a very patient person. She had become exceedingly more patient ever since embracing her powers though, she had to admit. Her young years she was content to hide away and pretend she wasn't different, but choosing the new life style of crime-fighting forced her to recognize the scope of it all - her regeneration let her sleep less, eat less, and at times she wondered if it would even let her live longer - perhaps even be immortal?
Shaking the thoughts away, she quietly followed the woman as requested without so much as a word - at least not yet. Walking down towards the hidden elevator, she smirked slightly and briefly to herself as the wall sank in, just amused and interested by how covert it all seemed. She had long envisioned of getting something so hidden. Despite her extreme awareness of how serious her vigilante life was and what it meant, the presence of her mutation and love for comic books made it hard to wave away fantastical ideas such as hidden lays and advanced electronics.
It was when Anna leaned against the elevator wall that Alex felt her entire attitude sour a bit. She was beautiful and acutely alluring in how she moved, smiled, and spoke though it wasn't so obvious to call her out on trying to seduce her as if it was some trap or bribe. That almost made it worse, because it made it seem more genuine and Alex didn't care if it was fake or not, she immediately felt defensive. How many times had she come across women that seemed friendly and sweet, only to turn her down? The only real time she felt loved and actually wanted was with Jasmine, but just like everything else in her life, she was left alone.
Alex quickly calmed herself and silently stepped inside, leaning against the opposite wall and waited for some sort of movement. Feeling the slight bump to indicate that it was now on it's way, she looked over at Anna as she made her short introduction. The first thought that came to her mind after it's conclusion was, 'you've got to be fucking kidding me...' Did the organization know anything about her? What were they trying to do with her emotions, putting her in the same living quarters to this sweet, beautifully dressed woman - they were nuts. Alex supposed she'd just have to keep herself distant or risk getting her heart broken for the thousandth time.
Pursing her lips for a few seconds, she took in a deep, slow breath and tried to decide whether she even felt like talking right now. After a few moments, "Um..." Again, there was another pause as she shifted her back against the elevator. "I guess not.. not right now anyways.." She didn't want to be totally rude though or make Anna feel like she had did anything wrong - after all, all of Alex's feelings weren't her fault. So she gave her a small shy smile and left it at that, glancing away to avoid too much eye contact.
