@shylarah It's just 5 players (which is perfect to me), so I'd rather everyone have fun with who they play more than anything else. If that means being a sorcerer instead, then go for it. I can always think of story reasons why the party groups together.
@shylarah Oh! So they are 36 now, got it. I'd say the last king was a kind, wise, and fair man ... so yes, it'd be entirely possible. (^_^)

Edit: Finally finished up the magic section. I'll do more tomorrow~
@BurningCold I do like the idea of the old magic or druidic magic, but I think werewolves and vampires would take away from the setting - so saying a no there.

I also appreciate the offers on worldbuilding. If there's anything you'd like to see, please let me know, and then we can all work together to see how we can fit it into the world~

@Lyla would it be possible for a young knight who is not yet a commander but expected to become one to have a rune? Say, a sixteen-year-old knight who shows a lot of promise? Or are the runes reserved only for the knight commanders?

It's not up, yet, but the king has been dead for 20 years now - so if it's a 16-year old knight commander-to-be, they're too young to have gotten a rune from the last king. As a general question, it'd depend on who sits on the throne if you get one before or after acquiring the rank of knight commander.
@LucidRain Sure! The OOC is here, but it's not quite done yet!

“Knights and courtiers alike, hear me well: The god of light has not forsaken us — somewhere, the heir of the Royal Rune walks among us, unknowing or unseen. Seek them out, for our kingdom will stand or fall upon the blood in their veins.”
— Lord Steward Geraint, addressing the Great Hall

In the kingdom of Alveria, the ancient royal line has all but vanished. The last king’s death left the throne empty and the legendary Royal Rune without a bearer — until whispers surface of a hidden heir carrying this divine mark. The steward, a powerful noble and distant relative, now rules in name, until the heir can be located. Meanwhile, neighboring lands eye Alveria with growing interest, sensing weakness where once there was unshakable power.

Players take on the role of Knight Commanders — elite warriors once granted Lesser Runes by the crown — tasked with uncovering the heir’s whereabouts. Driven by holy vow, they must navigate courtly intrigues, traverse perilous realms, and confront dangerous foes and monstrous beasts. Yet not everything is so clearly seen. The fate of Alveria—and the balance of power across the realm — now hinges on the bloodline’s survival ... and the choices these Knight Commanders make.

I haven't finished it - been working on it for a couple hours, but thought I'd show you that I'm making progress with it!
@Archazen I'll throw this here, but you might want to keep it somewhat vague until the OOC is up! (^_^)
All those ideas are welcome! Just a note by what @BurningCold said - unless your knight commander was around when the king died (about 20 years ago), they won't have a rune (but obviously would get one later). So any knight commanders that have been in service to the crown for 21 years at least would qualify a rune. There will be more info on the OOC I'm working on. <3
@Archazen If that's what you'd like to do, I'm okay with - since I think the other three will be playing knight commanders at least!
@BurningCold@Daxam@shylarah I had family time yesterday and had chores today - I wanted to make sure you're all informed, but I will definitely get to it! <3
