Current Language is language. Pharmakon is pharmakon. The phoneme topples the grapheme, witches ride through the night, our skulls hide secret messages on their surfaces, Smash Mouth is good after all.

"But my belief is that it's something to do with that ritual circle you've left lying about like a loaded gun in a baby's crib," he concluded.

What a beautiful Duwang. chew. There must be no other place as pretty as this town. This feels like a picnic.

Bio

The name's Mad Man Moon, or at least it's one of the many names I go by. I write fanfiction under another name, LeoneHaxor, and soon I shall write at least one under this one. I have GM'd a 12 player roleplay on Discord (one that I unfortunately had to put on hold, but fully intend to finish before the year is out), and have created a short demo for a blog-form fiction based on Phoenix Wright games in a free to use online PW case maker (despite the lack of custom sprites for the project, the progress I had made was well-received by the author of said work).

I'm kind of a long game kinda guy who loves to set up arsenals' worth of Chekhov's Guns, insane but slowly foreshadowed twists, and overall putting in a disturbing amount of effort when I get serious.

Alright. I rolled ten girls to see which one I'd start off with (since honestly I wouldn't let myself take the Origin of the Smug, both for personal pride and because the two patrons I want to create wouldn't quite mesh with that one), and I've decided on one set of rolls to work with. I still need to do some spending, but stat-wise my magical girl is almost complete.

By the by, where do you suggest I look for character images?
Well now. I wonder if this roleplay is still accepting new people. It's been a while since I stretched my RP legs on this site, but I must say that this budding roleplay has caught my eye.
@Scarescrow

I was awaiting something to timeskip your particular setting actually. You guys asked all the questions for orientation but I don't want you to wait on me to do something, this is an rp community I would encourage being a bit outgoing and do things you want to do or talk to your fellow players.

Honestly, if it were in character you could have walked out of the class like 3 days ago and told the teacher you wanted to spend your time studying on your own.

After some consideration, I've made an action that makes sense in-character. After all, focusing on one particular student in the back of the class would seem a bit contrived out of the gate...

...however, after the ensuing mini-interaction, noticing her as he walked back to his seat would make more sense, non?

Edit: It's also fast approaching the end of the fall semester for anyone who is in school IRL, so perhaps the looming finals/midterms coming up has also contributed to this dearth of posting?
Silias Aeson

@Spirit

The more that Silias thought to himself, the more he realized the depth of his folly. Yes, he had raised a valid question. Yes, he had no way of knowing what had led her to join the faculty of the Arcanium. However, emotionally unbalancing a teacher right before her first class of the year was not only a possible detriment to his learnings, but to his relationship with said teacher. If she was less willing to tolerate his presence, it would be considerably harder to learn more about her native culture. And considering the context clues in her response, it was likely that getting past that barrier would be incredibly difficult, if not impossible for her to accomplish.

In other words, he could be screwing up his singular chance to learn about it.

Silias got up from his desk as calmly as he could manage and walked up to the Rune Weaver's desk. Upon reaching it, he spoke quietly and sincerely. "I'm sorry for my ignorance. I did not intend for you to relive what were clearly uncomfortable memories, but the fact remains that I have. If you require any assistance, I will gladly offer it to the best of my ability."

Honestly by now I was hoping you guys would have known most things in this school are highly unusual.

I mean, the Headmistress' office door has her name in childlike lettering, a legal loli in full gothic attire casually displayed advanced magic for a series of practical jokes (one of the best uses for magic, in my book), the rank and file librarians are literally otters...

Call it my own semantic preference, but I'd say that we seem to be in the middle of a bizarre adventure.

nah man here every body likes everybody else... except dark elves cuse you know no one likes dark elves.

Silias Aeson

Silias reflected upon the Rune Weaver's reaction. I see. There's an element of tragedy to her story. The question is... how to go about retrieving it? Clearly she isn't intent on sharing it in the next fifteen minutes, or at least lacks the time to properly explain it in detail. Or perhaps she could, but prefers not to in order to better control of her emotions. Either way, it seems I should investigate that later.

Silias considered how to fill the next fifteen minutes. Already, his fellow scholars were mostly conversing among themselves, talking about relatively menial things. Fascinating in its own right, to be sure, but to be entirely frank he would have rather had that book at hand. Which reminded him... he should probably look into at least one spell useful for quickly drying things without damaging them. A basic fire spell would be great at the former purpose, not so much for the latter.

Biblio crawled out of his coat collar so as to casually sit atop Silias' shoulder, in plain view of anyone who bothered to look in his direction. Silias idly noticed this, and nonchalantly rubbed his fingers over the familiar's back.
@MULTI_MEDIA_MAN

Dat I do. Tis a reoccurring theme with me. And I certainly wouldn’t mind some interaction between us.

Speaking of which if I may receive some summary of recent events so that I may better transition myself, tis most appreciated.

As I am on desktop and not scrambling to recall details on my mobile device, I am much more capable of giving accurate information.

SO

Page 1 of the RP opens us up with the Orientation. We are introduced to Headmistress Miatri, the otters who tend to the books, and the Archmage Astioth. Only we're introduced to him as a painting, not in person. [At the time of writing, he has not made a physical appearance.] We are, however, told that it is quite possible to find him, and that he will be more than willing to share his knowledge with students. [A GM post focusing on Miatri later reveals the location of his office is up sixty flights of stairs.] Notable information we are exposed around this portion is that there is one copy of each book, destroying any of them will get you expelled, we are strongly discourage from bringing books into the baths [public style, available to males and females during clearly scheduled and alternating shifts], and that the Chef's name is Piero. We're also introduced to the rules of conduct for mage duels, as well as the arena.

Bah, running out of time on my end. Page 2 was when the announcement of the feast took place, as well as the feast itself. At the bottom of the page, the announcement of the mentors for the new students was made via parchement crow, and basically page 3 onwards has been building up to the first actual class held by said mentors. I apologize for skipping over describing the player interactions but those are basically the bare-bones bits of information in regards to what's happened.
@Spirit oh dear god I forgot all about that instructor

Boy is my face red.
Or he would be assigned to the destructive art class

I could see that, what with the offensive focus he has in his learnings. However, I think being able to transmute himself into living rock would be peculiar enough to fall under the purview of the Maiden of the Moon. Then again, it would be kind of hilarious to find out he's also been assigned to Mistress Lyvia's class with Isilfarrel...

Bah, the possibilities...

Still, that decision falls to the GM and his co-GM. All we can do is speculate, wait, and properly greet the new guy/girl/gender-neutral-term. Speaking of whom...

@Lucius Cypher Glad to make your acquaintance.
