Do you want us to explain our abilities in depth, or just put what we can usE?
Oh wow! Is this still accepting? I love DF, and am super frustrated there hasn't been a new book since Skin games so I need some kind of fixX >. <
The cat was a monster of muscle, but that didn't do much in the way of protecting it from an electric based attack. It went down without much protest. "Damn." Abigail muttered at the beast she downed. "Hope I didn't hurt it too badly."

She frowned and started to shake her head, but didn't finish thanks to the movement she detected in the corner of her eye. "Oh crap!" She shouted as she turned and tried to pull back, only partially succeeding in avoiding the attack. Her throat wasn't split open and her head was still attached at the end, but a deep gouge of flesh was left on the side of her neck, and blood flowed freely. "Damn it." the red headed pirate shouted as her own blade appeared in her hands. She took a step forward and jammed the blade forward, aiming for her attacker's chest.
"Late again." Abigail cursed under her breath as she made her way to join her crew mates in the battle. Though, she took comfort in the fact she'd been racing off against two much quicker team members.

"Hostile take over." Abigail muttered to the man who wanted to know what was going on. "What does it look like?" Her eyes turned for a moment, and she locked on August and the trouble he was currently having with a large cat. "Grr. One moment " She muttered and raised her hand, whose glow dimmed ever so slightly. She wasn't above killing enemies, but animals, most of them, weren't on her list for comfortable kills. So she'd lower the power "Dendo-dendo snake." She hissed and let loose a streak of red energy that raced straight towards the creature.
Oh shoot! I'm sorry guys. I didn't realize its been so long since I posted!
Can I get a post in today or am I out?

Well, yeah, but then he could just make people have their one signature item and no extra powers to start with, you know? And I'm just wondering how having a superpower, even if a basic one, is somehow easier to manage than a weapon that can be even simpler and whose special abilities can be limited in the same way.

And then with the skills, a lot of characters aren't defined by explicit supowerpowers but rather by how well they do karate or handle a sword or whatever. It just feels like a real strange limitation that cuts off a ton of what makes the genre to start with and it didn't seem to be a problem on the first game.

Actually, I do agree with the GM as far as skills go, I think. I'll try to explain why. First, I think that the GM wants our characters to be what many in the online gaming community would lovingly refer to as a bunch of noobs(people who're thrust into a world and they have no idea what their doing.) So, they'll, by which I mean our characters, will have to work our ways up from scratch. That's why the abilities, and likely weapons are so basic. It's meant to be a journey where everyone goes from chicken scratch to bad ass raptor. The thing with starting with abilities is it kind of messes with the spirit of being out of your element. Powers and items work because their things we're just barely getting.

As for myself I don't remember the first game too well other than a monkey and it dying kind of fast. Perhaps the skills had something to do with it, or maybe the GM just decided against it after giving the subject more thought?

I hope that makes sense. I just took some melatonin and it's hitting me hard. If not I'll tyr again tomorrow.
@malmshodes Basic. You'll progress in strength faster in this RP.

@Zero Hex For regulation purposes. If you want a weapon, feel free to tell me and we can talk about it so that you'd get it ASAP.

I don't quite follow. How is regulating weapons and skills, key parts of the genre, any more difficult than regulating outright superpowers?

@Zero Hex
Maybe its because this is just the beginning, and the super powers are going to be really basic at the start. Where as if you get a special weapon it's going to automatically be two things: Weapon and whatever special about it? Just a thought
Wow! Crazy how many of the original members want another go at this :D
Wow, this sounds really fun! Is there still room for this?

Question: What are the limits to the abilities? Should they be like the last time were they were very basic or should they be at a higher level?

She's also very curious about the world, learning as much as she can, devouring books like a saiyan puts down a free meal. Despite being highly intelligent, Abigail can't help but doubt herself. Always taking way too long to make even the simplest of decisions.

Abilities/Techniques:
