Or perhaps you could do it as Spore did; their evolutionary/discovery progress simply halts or reaches a standstill. Leaving them less likely to be recognized as a 'nation of a sentient race'.

Perhaps something similar to that of an Ape in our world.

Then we have the problem of who would be playing them, a GM or whoever discovers the old territory first? How would they know how they would behave, etc.

Name of Race: Ghalgren
Pic/Description

Racial Characteristics: Light colored skin, adept for blending in the Tundra environment. Eyes are also lightly colored, perfect for adjusting to sunlight reflecting off the snow.
Race Bio: The Ghalgren are tight knit community, preferring to live in large communities where they can aid each other. They have mastered their cold environment, hunting with ease amongst the animals of the north. They are proficient bow hunters and masters of ambush tactics, hiding on cliffs, in bushes or arounds bends to engage prey in close combat. Food is shared with the community as a whole in large banquet style buffets. Society is based on family prestige, those families with the most influence gain leadership roles amongst the people while doing everything they can to aid those under them. The Ghalgren paint their faces for camouflage, rituals, and for pleasing aesthetic purposes.

Location on Map: Southern tundra region, bordering the ocean and the desert.

Techs: Ghalgren are master archers and fletchers. The create powerful compound bows that are considered works of art amongst the community. Based on the compound bow design, they have also created simple machines of pulleys and levers to do the daily tasks of building and farming. They have simple boats of sails and oars and build their homes in a square cabin fashion, using large heavy pine lumber.

Your tech is a bit advanced for someone first starting out.
Had looked forward to future interaction as Yelb were first Alvith came into contact with. What is procedure for a race that no longer is being played? Is it we say they just die out or npcs? Would be something to find ruins of species that died out though wouldn't be much at current state of technology overall.

I'd say at this point in the game we could just have a mass extinction. Disease, mass suicide (as was the case in the previous RP at one point, late game nonetheless.) or starvation.
I'm back!... again. I hope I can get that damn IC post in before something else comes up.

Is this still open?

It sure is.

By the way, can anybody remind me who left earlier? I should update the map accordingly.
Well, you did from me. :V

You could probably go ahead now and if one of the other GMs have any reservations about anything you can just retcon it.
Looks good.
I'll be joining with one of my old nation sheets if you don't mind having a nomadic avian race which is transitioning into a monarchy?

As long as it's at the tech level specified in the OP there's no problem here.
You know what's cool? The internet at my house being knocked out right after I get my computer fixed. That's what's cool. It's like the universe is preventing me from making IC posts on purpose.
Also, for future reference I am confused as to whether or not I should count Slaves towards my total population or keep them as a separate counted stat and only count Arsuron as my population

I think you should, if the other player subtracts the number from their pop. Maybe to keep track you can put the number in parenthesis.
Speaking of population, if I ever jack up my population a lot in the future, know that I have a plan for it and it won't stay that way for long. It won't happen any time soon, but after the adventurers come back it may.

The snow brutes boned a lot and then they all died from starvation the end.
Elitestpotato's Future IC Post
If it's okay with everyone here, I'd like to jack my population up to proportionate numbers in my next IC post, seeing as my peoples are weak and tiny, and 200 Rokthan are not the same as say, 200 Snow Brutes or 200 Arsuron.

<Snipped quote by MangoJuice>

I am not a part of the lands in questioned owned by Shoggothought, yet I could imagine them being able to note: "This is the land of The Society." and "I am of The Society."

A manner of phrasing differently, would they even say such a thing that way.

Apologies if I insult. Also, one is glad you have returned, Mango Juice.

Sounds fair enough. I'll let them confirm that first, though.
