Name: Shi'larra, the Vadbulaah sorceress

Age: true age unknown, but looks 30

Appearance:

Background : Shi'larra was born in the Travellers' settlement located at the heart of Myrruan forest in the center of the Obrethon lands. She was the middle of the five living children, and was chosen by the Tribe's elders to become the next to be trained in the generation of the Travellers' sorcerers known as the Vadbulaah. Her older sister Moriana, now known as the notorious Witch of the Eddor'had, who always thought of herself as the Chosen one, didn't take elders' decision very lightly. She demanded to be taken into the training aswell, but ended up being banished from the Tribe for disrespecting the commandments of the Old ways. Even then Shi'larra already knew that they'd made a terrible mistake sending Moriana away. She knew her sister would always get her way, no matter what it took. But she had no idea how bad it would all turn out.

10 years had passed until one day the people of Obrethon first heard of the witch Moriana, who was roaming the Lands causing trouble everywhere she went. By then she had already aquired quite a few followers, mostly thieves and other bandits, who fancied her for her wickedness and ability to make them unstoppable on their pillaging quests.

After the joined armies of 5 Kingdoms managed to exile Moriana to the island of Eddor'had, times for the witches became very hard. People didn't trust them anymore, and were set to kill any practioner of magic they come across to, forcing the witches to leave the Obrethon lands or stay very well hidden. Shi'larra decided to stay, leading a nomadic life all across the Obrethon lands. She laid low for many years, carefully gathering the knowledge of her sister's intentions. However, it took her years before she realized what Moriana has done with the King of the Barren lands. And a few more before she learnt how to get in the contact with the one person she believed could put an end to all this. It was a long shot, but luckily enough Prince Edgar believed her message conveyed in the dreams to be the truth. However, she knew that their troubles were nowhere near the end, so after a few more years of intense self-training she contacted the Prince Edgar again, this time in flesh, and convinced him that Moriana is raising an army of creatures no man had ever seen before, and that she must be stopped before it's too late.

Personality: She enjoys Prince's trust, but is well aware that not everybody feels comfortable with her joining the quest. She appears to be fearless, and quite witty at times, and she doesn't bother proving to the Knights that her intentions are all good. Overall, she is quite mysterious, and doesn't really talk about herself or the things she knows about this world, unless it's really necessary. But she can be very resourceful, and knows her way around the Lands pretty well, which makes her quite indispensable.

Fighting skills: Her magic is strong, and diverse, but it requires a lot of energy and concentration, so when it comes to a close combat she rather relies on her sword and throwing knives. More often she prefers to just disappear from sight, using a quick cloaking spell, that she had mastered to a perfection during the times she spent in hidding.
@Manticore Great! Questions: When the RP begins, have the four kingdoms been rebuilt already or are they in the process? For how long has my character had the Stone?

No, they weren't fully rebuilt yet, and I'd say the Knights only had their stones for about a year or two. Basically, they would still prefer to continue to own the stones as they proved to be somehow helpful in the rebuilding process. The question is, are they still owning the stones or are the stones really beginning to own them? Eaither way, this could be a source of conflict in the group.

Any more questions? Now is the time :) I know there are a few more things I need to explain in more detail. Like the Hellhounds, the Witch's other accomplices who will cross our paths, and so on, but I intend to do that in the IC with my Sorceress, who happens to be a bucket of knowledge.
@Incanus Your CS is accepted! Good job on the backstory. And, no you don't need a picture if you have a text.
Aren't you a chatty bounch :) Feel like this one was left ignored in all the posts you made:

Hmm. I was just thinking. How do werewolves talk in their wolf forms? Do they speak regular English (that's unintelligible to humans perhaps?)? Or, maybe they can talk telepathically to each other. But only when they're close! And maybe some differentiating howls for distress and other things.

I'm all for talking telepathically here, when they are close to each other. Otherwise, it's the good old howling in the moonlight.
I know all knights are taken but i was somehow hoping i could still join this? I dont need a gem, perhaps maybe i could be a travel guide that is familiar with the land or even a squire to one of the knights or maybe squire to the prince himself?

It's your lucky day. We do have one Knight left, and that would be Knight of the Kingdom of the Vales with the Ag'rithil - The Stone of Fire :)
Sure I just figured since it was an Earthbender thing in Legend of Korra, I could get away with it, it is technically molten rock after all. Will edit though

Yeah, I can totally see why lava could be controlled with an Earth gem. But for the sake of keeping things in balance, I have to say no.
Although, if you think about it, lava is actually a mix of both earth and fire, so maybe we can spice things up, and say lava can only be manipulated with the power of two gems simultaneously.
I really like your CS @KnightofTempest, although I'm not sure if summoning lava should be in the Earth gem department. I'd rather have it controlled by a Fire gem, since you already have quite a long list of things you can manipulate.

Is there any information we need on the cultures of the various kingdoms? The Barren Lands I sort of interpret as an Arabesque desert, but that's just me, and you could have another interpretation entirely.

The joy of this RP is that things are quite open to your own interpretation. I didn't want to define everything in detail, so as long as you stick to the main concept (the land being plain and unfertile) you can't go wrong. KnightofTempest did a great job doing that with his Dragon mountains. Although, you do have to include the fact that the Land has been transformed during the last years of King Armagen's reign. Meaning, there must be some green and waterly oases in the desert, because at the moment living there isn't as hard as it used to be.
I wouldn't mind contributing the prince, if the position is still available.

Welcome aboard! The Prince of Barren Lands, carrying Sil'rithil - The Stone of Mind, is yours for the taking. Although, I think he should call himself King now, since his father is dead. Well, you can define that in your CS as you see fit :)
Though a bit obvious in choice, there is of course no reason that my character wouldn't take the Misty Rivers as his charge.

It is a bit convinient, yes. But a free choice nontheless :) Besides, it doesn't really matter which Kingdom you belong to. They are only used to form a background story.
I'd really rather take the Earth Gem Knight, as I don't know what I'd do with mind powers. . .

No problem. Earth gem it is. Just tell me which one of the remaining free Kingdoms you want to belong to.
