I've always held that low-tier and high-tier characters were different skill sets, not necessarily better/worse than each other. I'm admittedly just not good at dispowered combat and don't really hit my stride till mid-tier at the least, but that doesn't make me better or worse as a player than Street Fighters. Just means I prefer a different ball park. They can kick my ass in theirs, and I could shoot them through a mall from mine. Different skillsets, not necessarily compatible, but also not intrinsically superior or inferior to each other.

Anyways. No biggie, LR. To be frank I've spent years plural working on the sheet I linked up for Cee, it did not happen anything remotely like overnight. For all Star praises my character writing, there's a reason I have only half a dozen usable sheets at the moment, absolute tops.
@LeeRoy: I'm not actually sure if that's a 'yes' or not. We going? Or is someone going to tell me what a 'tick' is?
<Snipped quote by DLL>

I thought you were ambiguous of gender?

Regardless, I can attack your weak point for massive damage after using my real time weapon change. That is unless you pay me 599 US dollars.

I am ambiguous of gender. I shall use whatever pronouns I feel like at the time. Tonight? Feeling pretty.

@LeeRoy: wut u got, boah? The sheet for Cee is, temporarily, found in this post: Cee's dossier. Feel like you can step up to the robroad? Because I'm warning you now - say "yes" and there will be an intro thread posted within the next 24 hours, and that's a generous estimate. I do not wait around and pretend to accept challenges; say the word and it will happen quickly. Starfall and Enki both will confirm.

Show me your moves, Jenkins.
@Shawdus: Don't sweat it. There were circumstances beyond what was made apparent in this thread driving the shitstorm; it was probably inevitable at some point. Nobody blames you for handling shit that actually matters first.
Hey now. You should at least buy a girl a drink before you get frisky. Else she might pinch back - and as Star mentioned, I got more pinchin' power than the average Giant Enemy Crab.
...take note. Need to give Cee the ability to manifest dicks on the opponent to render them vulnerable to dick-punching...
That's the sort of thing you see a doctor over, Star.

ANYWAYS.

Hi. My name is DLL, sort of. You can call me DLL, Laser, Yurei, or if you feel like being a creeper and possibly getting your dick punched, Beautiful. It would not be the sort of dick-punching you get in the 1x1 section, though.

I am an individual of somewhat indeterminate gender who considers themself to be an adventurer rather than a straight-up fighter; my greatest love is tracking the wild adventures of my various characters and their friends/allies as they go about life facing challenges, meeting people, finding love, then probably shooting all three of those things in the face. That said, my adventures are long-form epic (as in the epic storytelling/literature format, not 'epic' the modern slang term) sagas set in original 'verse settings rather than fandom one-offs, so I'm not gonna get any of that here. I will instead subsist on the punching of faces. Or possibly dicks.

I am a great fan of what is apparently termed 'Powered' combat around here, in what might be considered Anime style. Glittering energy blasts, feats of mighty physical exertion, dazzling displays of mystical cleverness, mastery of weapons and special techniques, and all the other awesome physical combat stuff you see in the best shounen shows. I am significantly less fond of battles in which two people try to contort reality in such a way that their opponent becomes a three-eyed inside-out space fish, so that's a thing to keep in mind.

As well, in a twist which makes it very difficult for me to find right and propah contests, I rather sharply dislike killing my opponents in a fight, regardless of circumstances, due to my general belief that most contests should be held as canon for the characters involved when possible. In point of fact, my primary character is incapable of killing most types of opponents without suffering a horrible, debilitating backlash effect. Something which more than one foe has attempted to take merciless advantage of, before realizing that the loss of both legs is not immediately fatal.

After two no-shows and...well, we're not talking about that anymore...I am three busted fights for three here in RPGuild. The ol' fightin' balls are blue enough to belong on a Smurf. So now that I've spieled about myself in the wrong thread for multiple paragraphs no one will read, allow me to ask straight-up: is there anyone here who's looking for a friendly tussle on the Powered scale to break in that new-board smell? I'm tryin' here, but it KEEPS NOT WORKING @_@.
OR DO WE.

...>_>...<_<...T_T

Enki, go clean the damn toilets. Your ass is the one that got us caught up in that mess. It's KP duty for you until Starfall decides otherwise. Also you do not get to pick the next tournament.
@Gun: are you certain you want to throw Starfall out? The tournament has already been something of a comedy of no-shows, with precisely one fight going to something resembling a conclusion. Perhaps you should ask Blunderbuss if she'd like to continue her bout before you throw four of your remaining competitors out the door?

Make no mistake - while I'm trying to be calm and civil about this, I agree with the vast majority of what Starfall has said. I wouldn't have posted what I posted if I didn't think I had a solid case for making it stuck with it inevitably went to judgment. Part of the reason I want to let this die down and wait for judgment is that I'm confident a neutral read of the fight will back up my actions sufficiently to allow the fight to continue largely as written. While I will certainly be told to ask Divinity more questions in the future, I will state that Starfall is, in fact, correct here - I should not be required to ask Divinity a dozen different "so what did this actually mean?" questions after every post and in the doing make myself look like an incompetent idiot, simply because he prefers a writing style which leaves critical details to the reader's imagination.

Did I know the lances/javelins were made of controlled and crystallized sand? Yes, of course. That much was plain, but it was not sufficient. Never once was the formation, disposition, or capabilities of those lancelins so much as hinted at - the assumption seemed to be that I was supposed to sabotage my own offense by assuming NQCorban's capabilities to be drastically greater than Meteor's own, for no earthly reason. That is not only bad conduct, it is in fact patently unfair. This is a competition - the rules for every other single combat competition I have ever been a part of claims that if something is left vague and ambiguous, it is the fault of the writer, not the opponent. Mostly for exactly this reason - Divinity is now permitted to tell us all what his defense was supposed to be after I launched an attack around it, and can with the benefit of hindsight reconfigure that defense however he likes to nullify what I've written.

Am I accusing him of deliberately doing so? No. But that's the point. At this juncture no one can truly know if Divinity meant the skewers to be landlocked, as he claimed, or if he's backpedaling because otherwise he's in for a hurt parade. For what it's worth, I believe that yes, he meant the spears to be landlocked - but that was never once mentioned or made clear in the post, and again, I'm not one to ask a hundred questions, sabotage my own actions, and ensure everyone reading the fight considers me a complete neophyte nitwit because my opponent prefers to utilize a writing style not conducive to clarity of action.

Clarity. Is. Crucial. I should not have to work for it, beg for it, or ask my opponent nicely if he will please explain what it was he did after every post he makes because he wants to write a certain way. It should be my right as his opponent for this match, just as it is his right as my opponent to demand clarity from me.

I wish Starfall had been less antagonistic in making her points - but I understand exactly why she made them. Throwing her from the tournament, without consulting her current opponent at all, because she is more aggressive than I am in seeking correction for a miscarriage of gameplay is not cool.

@Gun: let Blunderbuss and Starfall decide for themselves if they'd like to continue their bout. Divinity and I will sort this out with judge's assistance, one way or another - but do not mistake my willingness to work within the system for a willingness to lay down and die because RPGuild told me I've been a naughty girl. This tournament has had enough trouble as it is. Let's let the combatants have their fun, eh?
Star, it's all right. Really. At this point most everything that can be said has been said. There's no point in arguing back and forth between ourselves anymore, we all know nothing's going to happen unless a judge comes in and takes a look. We'll let it be, and if things go south I can talk to Div via PM or something.
