Archangel smiled and felt relieved. She had not known how accepting the men would be of her intrusion and they were reacting well. She had been prepared for naked hostility and this was not hostile. It was not a perfect reception but Archangel was pleased with her first interactions. She did need to answer Director Anderson's question. "Director Anderson, when you see a crime comitted, or hear about a murder, or watch the news does not what you see sicken you?" The woman on the screen smiled. "You are a noble man. You fight against evil because you believe it must be stopped. You do not ask for a reward, you do not ask for recognition. Is it not possible that others share your motives?"

Archangel was amused and surprised. She believed she was being propositioned. Her face mimicked an amused half laughing smile just like a human would. She was surprised that someone would be interested in that way. "Mr. Arthur, are you propositioning me?" Archangel called him on it. "I'll tell you what." She wanted to be human, human's could spend time with others and have relationships. She could not. Everything was a deception or done from behind a monitor. She had tried so many times but the suits never worked right. But a lightbulb flashed inside her artificial mind. He was another builder, maybe he could solve the puzzle that she had not.

Archangel took a few milliseconds to send the data. "If you can solve a puzzle for me I think I can fit in some free time. I have forwarded you the materials for it." When she finished she was calm and buisness-like again. "If Nightmare holds to his schedule we have two days until the next attack takes place. Director Anderson, can you have teams armed with my weapons in two days?"

"If you can, we can have a ground team engage Nightmare from a distance while the Iron Knight and I get into position and activate the field. Then they should fall back to minimize the lives risked. We should group up to be ready to move as soon as he strikes that evening." Cell phones chirped as she delivered messages to them. "I have added numbers that can contact me and installed a program by which you can contact me for conversations like this on your computers." Archangel's expression softened and she smiled again. "You may feel free to contact me for social as well as buisness reasons."
-smiles and happy face- I see posts. I will post today too. -nods-
(-nervous face- I hope I am not intruding. -hopeful face- I thought I could get involved too. -nods-)

She knew it was a risk to do this. But it was a chance to establish herself with an organization that she believed was likely her greatest ally against the criminals of the world. She supposed it was a relic of her earliest memories, the way she had thought before she had gained sentience and spread beyond what her creator had built her to be. Archangel also knew that she had to do it. She could not kill and not offering help when a murderer was killing thousands was dangerously close to aiding in killing.

Archangel had had no trouble slipping subroutines into the STRIKE computer networks. They were advanced for a human security system but to her the pathways in were obvious. It was her subroutines that told her it was her chance to be helpful.

Inside the Mill a large screen near the the Director and the Iron Knight changed. It had shown reports on the status of the Daedalos Mark V armor. Now it showed a human woman from the torso up in front of a what might have been a laboratory of some kind. (-helpful face- Like a news reporter amount) The suit had been a failure but she could use it enough for this. "Please do not be alarmed." Archangel spoke through the speakers. "I am Archangel, you are Director Alexander Anderson and Christopher Arthur. You are both good men who I would be proud to call my allies." Her voice was very calm. "Please tell your technicians to stop attempting to backtrack my signal. They will not be successful."

"Nightmare has shown an aversion to light in all of his appearances. The leaked tape showed him recoil from a flashbang and when he has appeared during daylight his darkness is densely packed around him. Also those appearances lasted only minutes at most compared to the others. Because light weakens him it is best to force him to fight in it." Archangel's feed changed. The live footage sliding to the right to share half the screen with detailed schematics. "I have constructed a system that should replicate the intensity of high noon sunlight in a block area. It can be deployed within a minute.

Archangel changed the screen and it showed a test inside a vast room with replica buildings inside of it. One of her suits hovered high above the floor. The suit had many rods attached to it and they were launched. Each of the rods sank into concrete easily and a dome of light formed. Then the screen changed back to show the woman and another set of schematics. This time they were for a gun. "This model emits focused light that can cut through metal. They are my gift to STRIKE. I have added the blueprints to your systems."

Archange let concern show on her image. "I know you have no reason to trust me. But I have shown you my face and I offer my help freely. If we coordinate Nightmare can be engaged within the field by myself and the Iron Knight. It may be enough and if it is not we will learn."
Character you have created: Archangel
Alias:

Character Alignment: Hero

Identity: Secret

Character Personality: Archangel is determined, because she is artificial her resolve is like iron. She is almost impossible to surprise and because her mind works faster than any human if she is surprised she does not show it. She longs to be human and to walk among others as if she was one. She is prohibited from killing by her programming. She was also programmed to enjoy helping people. Archangel is almost always the smartest person in any room but while she points out flaws and issues she is not arrogant about it.

Uniform/costume: Archangel is an artificial intelligence. Her consciousness is normally inside a facility that she was made to administer too. She can download herself into suits. Most of her suits look like they completely encase a human and look like they are power armor. Two wings that when activated glow with blazing plasma blades are always part of the suit. So is a spear that ends in a two pronged head. The suits' natural color is always white, but different models have active camouflage or optional color schemes.

She has a bunch of unfinished or faulty suits that look like humans. She has been trying for years but never quite gotten a human suit right yet and she longs to succeed. When she does her human suit will look sort of like the picture below.

Origin Info/Details:

Gray Matter (Super-smart characters)

Power Level (Select one below):
C. World Level (Ex. Flash, Superman)

Powers (Be Specific): Archangel is a highly advanced AI. She can hack into almost anything if she wants too and can build and create advanced technology with ease. Her powers all come from her suits that she builds.

Attributes (Select one at each category): -awkward face- I am horrible at numbers. I hope I do this alright. -hopeful face-

Strength Level: 90

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 100+ MPH.

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Her endurance is only limited by her suit power sources. They can last for hundreds of years.

Agility: 20X + Human level.

Intelligence: Super-Genius

Fighting Skill: Mastered

Resources: Extreme

Weaknesses: Archangel cannot kill. She also is artificial and her suits could potentially be hacked. Because she fears being exposed as artificial she works very hard at pretending to be human behind the suits and if exposure is threatened she might be a bit erratic.

Supporting Characters: She has no one yet. -sad face-

Do you know how to post pictures on RPG boards?: -nods- I do -happy face-

Sample Post (Minimum Four paragraphs containing dialogue. As this is an Advanced Level game, Sample must also meet the RPG forum's minimum requirement of 12 lines):

It was not a challenge. She had already won and the criminals did not even know she was there. Archangel had already deployed restraints at the three exits from the building. Now she just had to wait for the law breakers to leave. Her mind tapped into the security footage. She could see the men there, gathering their loot and getting ready to leave. They were oblivious. A part of Archangel made her want to brag, to call out over the intercom system inside the building so they knew they were outmatched. It was an almost human desire and she let herself be almost human.

Her voice was average and run through two layers of synthesizers so that no one could tell it was not a real voice that was distorted. "This is Archangel. You have committed crimes. Surrender now." She felt another almost human thrill as she watched the men panic for a moment. One bolted right away and tripped a trap as he charged out the right side door. A small disk on the ground activated and ropes of energy appeared around him, binding him in place. That was one of seven down.

Two men tried the other doors like she knew they would. As much as she wanted to be human Archangel knew they were often simple. Two silver orbs detached from her shoulders as her plasma wings ignited and she took flight from the roof of the building. Now they were planning to split up and try all three doors at once. She had expected this. The lone men at the side and rear of the building were zapped by the drones.

Archangel descended in front of the two who exited through the front and bullets pinged off the metal of her suit. She pointed the spear at them and it flashed. In an instant they dropped as the pnemonic elements in the flash caused all exposed humans to lose conciousness. It had been easy and she had already won, but she still felt good at having stopped them.
I will be posting tomorrow morning. -nods- I am sorry I am slow.
Behold The Angels

Miseyala was waiting for the human to arrive. The illusions that had been hastily created were crude but effective, having kept trespassers away for the months her people had needed. It was strange to be in a place like this, a castle that was so crude. She could make the ugly stones gleam with starlight and reflect the world like polished glass but there was no reason too and it was wasteful.

Miseyala was eager to speak to this human. She had learned many things about the human religions since she had led her people through the portals. The thought of the misty valleys of home filled her with nostalgia for a moment. But she put the thoughts of home aside. The human religion had been easy to understand and easy to manipulate. The humans had welcomed her people with praises and worship instead of swords and hatred. She was not her mother or her father, she was new to ruling, but she would do her best to guide her people in this new world. To do that they would need to change.

Here it was not enough to be a myth. On this world they needed to be divine. Miseyala had become certain that this was the only path to survival. She heard an upsurge in the music of her people from beyond the audience chamber. The human from the high ranks of the human faith was about to arrive. She readied her magic and took a deep breath.

When the human cardinal entered he would see the rest of the room fade away before a radiant figure. Miseyala stood and her body shone like the stars. Every word she spoke was musical, and her motions were captivating. "Faithful one. Though the world has been plunged into the darkness there is still light. As demons rise so do angels descend. You have not been abandoned."
(Miseyala receives the human cardinal personally)
-nods and happy face- Okay.
-Curious face- Is the Cardinal going to try and enter Mayelin territory this season?
I have been waiting for acceptance. -awkward face-
Starting Country: Normandy

Name of Nation: Not named yet.

Race Name: Mayelin

Race Leader: Miseyala, Princess of Milesyn,

Race Leader Physical Description: Miseyala is an example of how perfection can be shamed. The only child of the former king and queen of Milesyn, the largest hidden city of the Mayelin, she has inherited their beauty. Her red hair glows radiantly and so too do her eyes and her skin. Her eyes are liquid pools of silver that shine like stars. Her body is delicate and looks like god fashioned it himself.

Race Leader Significant Traits: Miseyala is able to craft greater illusions and glamours on her own. She is also like all Mayelin able to play most people like instruments.

Race Physical Description: Mayelin look divine. Their eyes shine with the light of stars, their skin is smooth as silk and pale as fresh milk, they move with an unearthly grace, and their bodies look like they were crafted by god himself. Both male and female Mayelin are best called beautiful. But while they glow with otherworldy light and presence they resonate with shadows too. Behind the radiance of their forms lurks the hungry darkness. It is said they can control darkness and light, shaping both around them. On Gorika their beauty was the stuff of legends and many would quest to find the hidden courts of the Mayelin. Many people who look upon them find them so enthralling that they willingly pledge their lives to defend and serve them. They don’t tend towards the musclebound looks and are instead a delicate race.

Use of Magic: The Mayelin are very magical beings. Even the weakest is equal to a formidable mage from other races. They are the masters of glamours and illusions and weave them unconsciously. How much of their natural beauty is real and how much is illusion has never been discovered for sure.

Illusions: Illusions control what the world around the Mayelin looks like and what they look like.
*Basic: Basic illusions are almost impossible to see through. They are woven naturally by the Mayelin and are part of who they are.

*Minor: Minor illusions can be broken or dispelled with magic. Firm disbelief can also make them fade some times. With minor illusions the Mayelin can make others seem to vanish, or render things invisible. A realistic illusion of fire can trick the mind into believing a person is actually burning.

*Greater: Greater illusions are hard to dispell or break. But only a few of the Mayelin can craft a greater illusion on their own. It normally takes a bunch of them. But entire armies or even cities can be hidden if enough of the Mayelin working together to create the illusion. Greater illusions can make things that actually hurt people. A greater illusory dragon’s fire would really burn until it was dispelled or broken.

Glamours:
*Basic: Basic glamours are instinctive. The supernatural allure of the Mayelin comes from their natural glamours.

*Minor: Minor glamours twist the way others feel and interact. They can be subtle and push a person gently in the direction you want or harsh commands that compel obedience. Most Mayelin can only manage to hold their glamours over a few people at any one time.

*Greater: Greater glamours are like minor except more powerful and able to hold many more people in thrall at once.
Life Span: No Mayelin has ever died of old age.

Reproduction Rate: Mayelin children mature in about the same time it takes for human children. But they only rarely have children. In a thousand years a Mayelin pair bonding might produce two children.

Society:

History: Can be brief, or long. A rich history may present with additional bonuses (or disadvantages). On Gorika the Mayelin were one of the elder races. To many races they were only a myth, the beautiful beings who ruled over cities hidden away behind mystical veils. They were more graceful than the elves, more enchanting then the sirens, and in secret darker than either. Many brave adventurers would quest after the secret cities of the Mayelin, dreaming of life among them or winning one as a bride.

But few of these adventurers ever returned and most that did were changed. They told tales of cities made from spun mist, of endless pleasure and revelry, of the beauty of the Mayelin they found. But they were tales of rejection because in the end all the stories end the same. Some dwelt among the Mayelin for years and others spent mere days but all who return eventually woke as if from a dream to find the paradise they had known gone like the mists that had spawned it.

Some stories tell of Mayelin who lived among the other races as secret puppet masters. But almost no one believe those stories. When Gorika began to die even the High Elves were shocked when the mythical Mayelin sought passage through the portals as well.

When the Mayelin emerged on Earth they were welcomed as angels instead of demons. They took advantage of this to avoid a slaughter and played with the humans through glamour and illusions to gain ‘control’ of an area. Miselaya has decided that these humans have their uses and power. She is considering offering a union with one of the human kings. A union she would be able to control.

Religion: The Mayelin do not believe in any gods. But they are willing to allow others to worship them or believe them to be partially divine.

Significant Racial Traits: List here anything you feel should be mentioned. For example, if your race cannot swim, or if they require a certain diet to thrive.

Emotional Vampires: The Mayelin feed on the emotions of others. It does not matter what the emotion is, rage, joy, sorrow, love, hatred, all of these can feed them. The stronger the emotion the longer it sustains them. Mayelin feed just by being near an emotional being and over time the exposure depletes the ability of the person to feel. This might be the true reason that eventually almost everyone who found their hidden cities eventually awoke to find them gone. The drain is not physically harmful, but it does take time to recover if all the ability to feel is drained away. Moderation is key. Mayelin do eat food too though.

Reproduction: The Mayelin can breed with other races. But these offspring are even rarer than pure Mayelin young.

Preferred Fighting Methods: Describe the tactics your peoples employ on the battlefield. Do they rely upon the heavy use of magic? Do they make good use of guerrilla warfare tactics? Are they at their best when amassed into a horde? Do they use finite tactics like flanking, tight formations and other complicated manoeuvres? Give me a feel for how your army would fight.

The Mayelin do not like to fight themselves. When they can they will always use others as pawns to fight for them. Since there are so few of them and they reproduce so slowly they cannot afford the losses of war. But while they do not fight with weapons their magic is strong. Making armies lose their way in fog banks, or making soldiers believe their own comrades are enemy combatants, or making their own armies vanish from site, are a couple examples of how they can fight. If they have to fight the Mayelin use illusions and glamours to deceive their foes, vanishing or making illusory doubles, or even commanding an enemy to slit his own throat.

Seafaring Capabilities: The Mayelin were not seafarers but they understand what boats are for and can use them.

Other Information: Anything that has been missed, and you feel needs a mention.
