Dark Matter sat in his chair, watching everything unfold before him in eerie silence. The conversation Jason had with Father had gone a bit over Dark's head, but it was no matter. He didn't need to understand any of the hidden threats Jason made, or the reactions Father had to them. All Dark Matter needed to know was that Jason was just asking to get himself killed. Or worse, his sister. One of the few people trapped in this place that seemed remotely normal. She didn't deserve the pain they put her through, especially when that pain truly belonged to her brother. Sometimes Dark just wanted to punch that boy square in the nose. The dark beast's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of screaming as the once compliant girl was dragged out of the room, and Dark Matter guessed she had switched personalities.
Once the scientists had left the room, Dark Matter went back to thinking in silence.
Some time passed before the door opened again, and one of the sisters was returned to them. She seemed to have some kind of small animal with her. How strange of Konrad to allow something so innocent to live. No doubt he'd tortured the poor creature, though. That man was the one who deserved to be in this cage, not Dark Matter. What am I doing? Am I...Caring for these whelps? I should kill them. Kill them all. Suddenly, Jason yelled out. Dark scoffed quietly as the boy attempted to use his powers. His scoffing turned to surprise as Jason put a small hole in the wall by producing some kind of black hole. His powers were impressive, Dark would give Jason that. But that was a reckless time to use them and show those dogs what he was capable of.
Then they dragged Lilith off. Dark Matter glared holes right into Konrad (Figuratively, of course) as the man said the things he did."You're a coward, Konrad. Torturing little girls..You have no backbone. No spine. You wouldn't dare touch any of us without your little bodyguards, or if we're strapped to a table. Are you proud of yourself? Do you think you're 'furthering science' by bringing a child to an inch of their life?" Dark Matter's anger grew, and he began to rise from his chair.
