@BuddhaSounds good, a quick search turned up a Class C:Senbon Shower. Seemed like a good fit so I added it to the sheet and added that the umbrella spines are now full of Senbon to facilitate it :).

The idea of Senbon did send me on a spiral of ideas so I also added Prepared Needle Shot and as the Class B Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death this may influence me to grow Kei into a Water Release user, we can see how things go~

I would like some help in the jutsu area, it's the one place where I seem to be coming up short. Also for some reason the hider tag is going weird since I did copy and paste and fill in the bits, that's all :/

The long winter had a rather significant impact on Kei’s upbringing. He can’t say that his childhood was simple or easy, but he was content. In the ever-present snow and cold Kei had to learn to enjoy and find happiness in the simplest of things, his father showing him a jutsu, his mother cooking a warm broth, even watching the snow fall and watching the chilling white cover the landscape. Kei learned to be content, this tended to give people the impression he was wise beyond his years, Kei simply thought people confuse wisdom and laziness far too easily. An old man in a kids body his teacher said, criticising the lack of urgency or danger that Kei seemed to have for the situation Konohagakure was in.

Unseen by the faculty however was the fact that Kei wanted to help from the moment he could hold a kunai and eventually Kei’s father decided to teach him the ins and outs of shurikenjutsu as he was too young at the time to properly learn kenjutsu the Tonbo way. Kei didn’t particularly have a natural disposition to the use of shuriken or kunai, but given the fact that him and his family weren’t traditionally inclined to the use of any particular elemental jutsu making the full use shurikenjutsu seemed to the best choice in a bad situation. This led to Kei being a sort of hunter gatherer with his father as they would go out and hunt for rabbits or the like.

School time was dedicated to learning the staples of the ninja world before deciding to focus largely on what he was familiar with. Kei’s favorite technique ended up being the Paper Shuriken jutsu, something that he learned from… extracurricular activities. With the expense of purchasing a new shuriken far outstripping a sheet of paper it was even a bargain. More food on the table in a harsh winter would never be unwanted. However, the real excitement came when Kei used this jutsu on another staple of the ninja world, the explosive tag. Kei never really told anyone of this experiment, why would a good ninja go around bragging of their discoveries? An ace up your sleeve is common sense, right?

The Tonbo family isn’t particularly large or prominent, but they are well regarded in the ninja world for having outstanding control over themselves. A well trained Tonbo ninja has the capability to move completely at will, making very few actions a mistake. Kei’s father, Haya, had been a well regarded as a sword user, although not overly famous as he never sought it. It was said Haya could alter the path of his blade mid strike at 90 degree angles or forcibly halting a strike at will. This sword style was reflected in the mannerisms of the Tonbo family. Their method is to patiently wait, silently lingering in place to assess any given scenario and when they move, they abandon all stealth and opt for blinding speed. This has resulted in Kei acting in such a way, patient and apparently slow, but extremely decisive when called to action.

Kei’s dreams are simple, to live a long life, marry a nice girl, then spend his twilight years on the porch looking after his grandkids as they play with wooden swords instead of having to train with kunai.

His fears are related to this dream, that he would have to train his kids and grandkids to be ready for war.

Kei has a preference for mid to long range fighting, using traditional shuirkenjutsu to a high degree of competency before peppering the area with paper shuriken. After the first hidden explosive tag shuriken is set off the opponent must assume that any of Kei’s paper shuriken have the potential to explode, forcing them on guard.

The explosive paper shuriken are then combined with the Manipulated Shuriken Technique to guide those that were thrown earlier and left undetonated back to the target or targets. If forced into close combat Kei attempts to mimic his father’s sword style with a hidden short blade in his umbrella which when the canopy opens Kei uses also as a shield, the Tonbo’s body trait and training resulting in an unorthodox sword combat with blows swerving around an opponent’s defence until he can regain distance. An explosive tag is then used to keep that distance and the scenario repeats until death. Kei has been known to use the Prepared Needle Shot as a way to set up his escape to longer ranges.

When in use there is little external indication of Jūjun'na karada. The tendons and veins become more visible at the point of use, similar to an activated Byakkugan. A true master of the Jūjun'na karada is able to have free control over all of their body at once, even forcing their own heart to beat and lungs to inhale and exhale.

Ｓｔｒｅｎｇｔｈｓ

The Jūjun'na karada is a purely supportive kekkei genkai, it allows complete control over the body which could, in theory, render paralysis techniques less effective or allow the pores on ones skin to open far wider allowing oxidization of the blood eliminating a ninja’s need to breathe traditionally (yes, haha Kei could breathe through his skin, MGS 5 haha :P).

This manifests in combat through the instant redirection or retargeting of an attack even after the strike has been launched, or the dodging of an attack in a seemingly impossible way, such as twisting the body so that a swarm of shuriken do not hit. At the current point in time Kei can only control a single limb of his at any given time, or at least the equivalent area of an arm spread over his entire body.

Although Kei can control his body quite well he is still susceptible to surprise attacks and if the attack is too fast then his reaction speed would simply be too slow.

It’s an umbrella. It is also the sheath for Kei’s short sword while the canopy is made from a dense material made to provide cover from incoming projectiles and last for a limited time in close combat until Kei can escape. The tip of Paraken is sharpened allowing the umbrella to be a makeshift lance. The spines of the umbrella are loaded with senbon, not Kei's first choice of weapon, but he's learning to love the potential stealth they offer

This is going to be a very silly question I feel. Are all eye techniques kekkei genkai? I don't recall other eye techniques outside of that, apart form maybe senju modes if that counts. I wanted to create an eye technique with the theory of an insects compound eyes behind it, dividing the users vision into a smaller and smaller hexagonal grid with co-ordinates allowing greater accuracy.

I have been basing my character's family on the dragonfly (because why not, right?), but I felt that an eye kekkei genkai is somewhat cliche and was going to have extreme body control being it instead, hence the query :P

EDIT: Also the eyes seems to be a kind of... worse sharingan if they're a kekkei genkai

I'm here to show my interest :)

I've never done a Naruto RP, I was always cowed by the massive post count and I figured that the characters had all made their clique and such (making it awkward to try and break in to it).

I do have a question/query/concern though:

My big disappointment with the Naruto series as a whole was how the power creeped up in such a way that the tools were basically useless, making characters such as Tenten pointless as a result. So I guess my question is that if I want to make a character that goes down the weapons archetype of ninja, will they inevitably become useless?

As Tori carried Linea over to her sister, the activation of Nebula’s… first aid, surprised Tori. As she could not detect the ambient energy in the air herself so she could only assume that there was some sort of emergency reserve of energy, for use in situations such as this. Still, she was rather upset that she had ruined her undershirt for no reason. Leaving the torn piece of shirt on Sienna, seeing no reason to reclaim it, Tori stood up and picked up the more manageably sized Nebula as Ruxen blustered her way about the sewer.

“You do not wish the safe haven that I can provide? Very well, I will assist you in any way I can. However, Miss Beastkin, that has the caveat that my needs are met also. Namely the safe passage of me, my unfortunate twin companions and this artificial intelligence that has designated itself Nebula. If you wish we can discuss specific requests when there is no more immediate danger, but can we please just go?” the statements made by Ruxen caused her frown to deepen into one of concern as opposed to simple frustration that normally caused her creased brow.

“The beasts are awake you say? Well, my three companions are incapacitated and my primary role is not that of combat. So, do you think we can escape? Or will I have to attempt a bloody combat? Or worse yet, will you all be true to humanity’s selfish nature and abandon me and my companions? I cannot leave them after all the trouble I’ve gone through. The net loss would be devastating” Cloak splaying out the twins were swept up and Nebula was lifted into her arms, ready to attempt an escape if it came to that.

“That said, I’m willing to be a rather annoying lodestone if the abandonment route is taken.” For better or worse, Tori tended to assume the worst in people, regardless of whether their good intentions had been proven. Running and abandoning her with the three bodies was only logical. The beasts would attempt to take the easy targets first, namely her with the girls.

Alex was confused. Having been dragged around by Bel all day he had little chance to talk to anyone or even relax. Kenji was probably pissed at him, but that seemed to be the Verdant Lord’s natural state of affairs with Alex. If he can’t please the guy, then he can just stay out of his way. Bel on the other hand was acting disturbingly like the Green King, the manic grin on her face gave Alex the vague feeling of being on the edge of a cliff and someone next to him, hand on his back and a single push would send him spiralling into a situation he had no control of.

As he was about to break away from the Blue King to go get a drink, he received a message that pulled a resigned sigh from his lips

“Yo, Alex? You there?”
“Roxy… you’re messaging me, even if I wasn’t here I’d still see it later”
“Shut up smart ass, one day that sharp tongue will get you in trouble :P”
“Nah, I’m only a smart ass with you and you’re not allowed to, you’re suspended~♪”
“Pssh, whatever. Did the auditorium thing really work?”
“What thing?”
“Y’know, the PA thing. Did Dad’s playlist get broadcasted??”
“Oh yeah. Yup, it did. Scared the hell out of me”
“Sweet. See ya in five on the roof okay? You gotta try it one more time”
“WHAT?! Why?! Bel, the Blue King herself, got me in her grip and I can’t just ditch her!”
“Why are you with the Blue King? Aren’t you in Green? Whatever, I don’t care Alex! C’mon, you know I’ve been planning this for ages! Ditch her royal highness and help me!”

Humming to himself about how he was going to get to Roxy, Alex realised he was back stage, Bel sneaking about.
“Bel… what are we doing here? I get it if you’ve got Kingly or Council stuff to do, but this is weird, you’re acting a bit weird Bel” the fact he was even back here gave Alex butterflies more than being glared down by Kenji. Or interrogated by Kenji… or anything by the Green King really.

“Roxy, hold off on your plan for now. I think Bel has something bigger in mind and I know you don’t like being a cheap follow-up act.”

As Alex was fretting along with Bel a navy-blue sedan pulled up outside the school and a tall, blonde, woman stepped out of the back seat, pulling on her jacket as she walked towards the festivities.

“Keep your phone on, Charlie. I love my girls, but I fully expect them to set the school on fire in the moments that I am here. Like oil and fire those two. Yes, Charlie, I know, but you know as well as I that they are quite more volatile than oil and water. Please park the car if you would be so kind.” At a brisk pace of a woman that knew her way around the school, she soon found the stage in sight.

“Please, girls… don’t break anything…”
