Historically when the French Revolution happened and the monarchy abolished, nearby Kingdoms saw it as a huge deal. A constitutional monarchy with a puppet monarch might not care, but a monarch with any power would no doubt see Republics as a threat and not want that harmful ideology to spread to his nation and get him overthrown.

That might be true of the PRK (though its revolution is already twelve years old and has not spilled over into any other nation so far) but other republics, such as Avalia, Hambria, and Dong Wei have likely existed for a century or more and still many absolute monarchs are secure on their thrones. Not to argue they wouldn't be percieved as a threat, but likely less so since we have a different historical context. Communism/socialism would, however, be a huge negative modifier on most nations' lists.

Also, to clarify, the PRK is an athiest state but does not actively persecute believers of any religion.
I'd just like to note that the opinions of the PRK have an ideological bias towards preferring republics and disliking monarchies, but like Cyclone you can have the exact opposite or it can have no bearing on your opinion of a nation at all, which is probably the case for most nations, especially those constitutional monarchies in the middle.

Also, to be fair, I stole that layout from EU4.
@Hael

Apparently they also think KalMea is imperialist, lol. And apparently I'm a historical rival? *shrug* Tin likes to invade places, so I guess that makes them a historical enemy to most nations in the region.

Because of them grabbing up that island or whatever. It's a small modifier, only one minus. Yllendthyr, you, and Yamatai have larger ones due to the scale of yours in comparison.

I attached the historical rival modifier to every other big nation on their side of the world, namely you, Avalia, and Ventium, as a way of accounting for past conflicts without actually naming them.

Also, what would happen if KalMea tried to speak to the P.R.K.? I ask because KalMea is not isolationist by any means, and I assume we'll end up speaking at some point.

We speak civilly to everyone, regardless of relations. However, we would likely remain deceptive and unwilling to participate in any proposals they had.
So how would the ethnic Tinite population have gotten there? Moved in from other nations like KalMea?

From before the Revolution, I would imagine, when relations were better.
Out of curiosity, what would be the PRK's laws regarding Tin? I presume a full embargo and banned immigration from Tin?

Yes. Though we aren't actively deporting Tin men that are here.
Here's a little summary for you all, and an explanation of how I've calculated my exterior relations.

@Voltus_Ventus So...we're going with the bomb, right?

Ugh, I'm confused.

Yes, we are.
<Snipped quote by Mihndar>I wasn't sure what kind of relations your nation has with Yllendthyr so I didn't risk it.
But yeah, I could.
Might be still better to avoid you just to save my nations from the heavy tariffs you're bound to be dropping on me.

Only slight ones, since we'll be friendly with Avalia by then and higher tariffs = higher prices for them.

And I venture to say air travel is already more expensive than sea.
<Snipped quote by Cyclone>I thought I was the second person who voted for trade dispute.
Yeah, that sounds like a more conservative start.
Alternatively you can have the bombing incident escalating the tension but not quite resulting in anything close to a war.
Then the trade dispute which further worsens the relations.
Especially since I deliberately plan to ignore the embargo and approach Avaria via an air route from the north.

You can go through Kataylabinsk, you know, right?

That's okay. We're not Eisenkreis.
The only people that seem to have actually voted are me, Hael, and Cyclone, and it's two for the islands and one for the trade.

Willy and Voltus have both expressed neutrality.

And I would maintain that having the two garrisons fight each other because of a bombing does not equate to full fledged war. It would certainly lead to tension as the two nations sort it out in diplomacy after the event.
