Act two of the original three is done. It is about 100 pages and 23k words. I'll be merging the first two acts into one and the book will end up being about twice as long as originally projected.

Act 1 of 3 is done. It’s about 100 pages and 23k words and has a prelude, 8 chapters, and an interlude. I’m looking at 100k words as an approximate goal.

Bio

Thrawn: "I have read about the nightswan. Have you?"

Nightswan: "You refer to the fact that it sings only as night is falling?"

Thrawn: "Yes. You do not expect your stand to succeed, do you?"

Nightswan: "I know that it won't succeed."

Thrawn: "That does not necessarily mean the end. I can give orders for you to be taken unharmed."

Nightswan: "They will be ignored. Half the troops here are Batonn Defense and Restos is determined to get rid of me."

Thrawn: "Then come with me now!"

Nightswan: "A man must do what he must, Admiral Thrawn. Even if his stand is against the fall of eternal night."

The morning went well. Aaron and his mother were on a trip into City T where they could watch one of their favorite movies on the big screen. They had taken their small van and made the trip from City B, where they shared an apartment. Aaron was in his senior year of college, studying several things, including engineering and mathematics. He was set up to receive seven degrees. The day wasn’t exciting until around noon when the sirens began to wail with an announcement of a level Tiger threat. Aaron and his mother, Trisha, were on the other side of the city from the evacuation center so they jumped into the van and he drove her there as fast as he could possibly do. He remembered the city’s layout from memory and found the fastest route to the dome-shaped building that protected citizens from danger.

The drive only took a few minutes. It may have taken less time if traffic wasn’t so bad and the center was becoming more and more packed as time went on. It took several more minutes for Tresler to get his mother’s wheel chair out and to roll her into the shelter. By the time he had, the sirens began to wail once more as the Hero Association announced that the threat had been elevated to level Demon. “Aaron…” His mother’s weak voice filled his ears and she spoke. “Be careful…” She knew he was about to disappear and that he may not return to her. But she also knew that there was nothing she could say or do that would make him stop. She knew that he had to do this that his sense of justice would not allow him to stand by while others died. A moment later she, nor anyone else could see Aaron anymore.

He traveled at a speed so great that he could hardly comprehend it. But he didn’t need to comprehend it, he just needed to remember it. He was mimicking the hero known as Flash Forward. Aaron had previously seen him run at super speeds and do several other super-human things. Aaron’s surroundings passed as a blur. He saw it. There were two beings near-by. A larger one, a woman, and a smaller one which was more of a white penguin sort of thing. He wasn’t sure what the smaller of the two was, he had recognized the larger of the two as the hero DreadLock. The penguin-duck thing had attacked her in some way, from the ground, even though she was in the air and far above it.

The monster was now on top of the building and she was falling to the ground. He’d heard it screech “PLAY!” just a moment before. Savant jumped from side to side on the building and the building next to it making his way up to the top of the building the monster was on. When he got to the top he stopped, stared at it blankly and said, “Play?” He was using the same inflections it gave its voice.

No time..! Geoff had been struggling to get himself straight as the action happened below him and monster seemed to forget that he existed; declaring that Mr. P must be the strongest hero in the world and promptly pursuing him. This was a second shock to Ventus’, albeit small, ego - he was a Class S hero dammit. He thought that he’d earned just a bit of recognition… at least by the bad guys. But, he was above such trivial matters, such as the ones that plagued his thoughts… Oh well.

He shot himself toward the monster as the hero… Sunshine..? he wasn’t terribly good at remembering the names of all of the heros. But he was relatively certain that this was the man’s name, he was a top hero in Class B. Anyway, he shot himself toward the monster as Sunshine seemed to spontaneously combust. Like he was literally on fire! I hope he has some way of protecting himself from that… Looks like it must burn…

Sunshine launched himself forward as Mr. P dodged the monster’s attack and shouted something at it - Ventus didn’t have time to really process it as he was hurling toward the beast hoping to achieve a combination attack with Sunshine - his plan at the moment was to feed the other hero’s flame and increase the effectiveness of his attack all the while grasping the monster in order to subdue it and have it possibly explain where it came from.

Parts of the plan were quickly abandoned as Ventus realized that the monster would not be able to speak if any of Sunshine's attacks got through. Geoff condensed the air around him into several balls of molten hot plasma and launched them at the monster's arms and legs. He, simultaneously, condensed the air immediately around him into the, more solid, form of a ball and smashed into the alien, Tach,'s side with force relatively equivalent to that of a semi truck at highway speeds.
@Animal I'm working on that now
@Cherrywitch Yeah, it would seem that this is always open
@Phobos Thanks. Also, I posted a second CS.
@Animal I can edit it later - I posted
