Current You know, I'm in 4 RPs that are basically still going, yet they're all slowing down in unison. IN UNISON.

Just left off with one last post. I'm cool for timeskipping like everyone else, fyi.
Alexei Pavlov

"Oh, all good. Not much happening in the old town these days." He replied as he waited for Johnathan to get ready. He nodded in approval as Johnathan explained his reasoning for starting light. It was always best to exercise caution when training like this, even if they all had powers to compensate for their shortcomings. In fact, while Alexei more than anyone could use his power to lift weights like these even easier than ever, he wouldn't; using his power to cut corners or show off would just leave him insufficiently prepared if he ever had to act without them. In any case, he took his position by Johnathan, ready to intervene if anything went awry with the weights.

When Johnathan expressed his concerns, Alexei shook his head. "Don't let it worry you, Johnny. Everyone has their off days and their misunderstandings. I wasn't able to convince the girl to give you a chance myself. The girl I brought to the institute today was also quite combative and unwilling to listen. But I'm confident we'll both get through to these people with enough effort! You just have to keep giving it your all everyday; just like with these weights!"

Things were only getting more and more bizarre as far as Maiko could tell. It seemed this "Tsukuyomi" was a touch sensitive. Maiko was beginning to seriously doubt the credibility of this girl. Surely this had to be some kind of trick? Maybe they were on some kind of elaborate prank game-show? A billion conspiratorial thoughts were erupting in Maiko's mind. But in spite of it all, Maiko chose to focus on what the others were saying. It was somewhat important that she knew what was going on, after all. As it turned out, the discussion of just what this place was flowed into a discussion about Strange Gospel. It just had to be Strange Gospel, didn't it? Even when spirited away to some bizarre new location, Strange Gospel followed them here too.

When Keita spoke up again, he raised a very interesting possibility; that this "Tsukuyomi" had something to do with the app. Latching onto those words, Maiko started on the first train of thought that came to mind. "Oh my god, have we been kidnapped!? Is this what happened to everyone else!?" She was basically spouting conspiracy theories without much thought as to whether they made a lick of sense now. She wasn't really in a state of mind to slow down and carefully consider what was going on. In fact, that was generally something she wouldn't have done from the get go.

While the others were attending to their own business or watching the CTF game, Alexei had been tending to a small task of his own. It was nothing big; he had simply chosen to take time to pen a letter to his folks back home. He made a point of writing back to them about his time at the institute, and he had kept this up for all the yeas he had been there. The letter read as follows;

"Dear mother and father,

I hope you are still well. I am A-okay, as I said I was in just about every letter before this one. Recently, I returned to the institute from a trip to Japan to pick up a new student. She was a colourful one, to say the least. In fact, her hair was especially colourful; it was a bright pink! I'm not sure she really suits the colour pink, but you know me, I'm not the type to go telling people that stuff. She gave me quite a bit of trouble on the journey over, but I'm sure she'll settle down and become another good student here. The semester is off to a rough start though; there was an assault on the very first day! We stopped the situation from escalating, but I fear it may take some time to reconcile the students involved. I am confident we will sort it out eventually--"

It was in the midst of considering what he would write about next that he received Daler's communication. He was fairly certain he was referring to good ol' Johnathan. "Ah, I'll be down there in a moment!" He called out. Then he remembered Daler wasn't actually there. 'Ah, I'll be down in a moment!' He thought in his head. He always forgot exactly how Daler's powers worked. In any case, he made tracks for the gym.

When he arrived in the gym, he greeted Johnathan heartily. "Ah, Johnny! I heard from Daler that you may require a spotter. Might I offer assistance?"

Yasu Hirabayashi

With the girl's charge stopped, it looked like it was finally time for a straight fight. Funnily enough, in spite of raising her fists, the other girl did not seem intent on throwing the first punch. Yasu was about to make some snide comment about that when she heard someone yelling to stop the match. "Ugh. Hold up a sec." She told the girl as she looked past her to see what was going on. Of all things, it was Brock having been taken down and overwhelmed on the other side that had incurred a staff intervention. It was almost a bit pathetic to see him stumbling around desperately trying to fight back. To no great surprise, it seemed violence girl was involved in the incident yet again. At this rate, the little redhead was going to be better known for causing trouble than she was. But that suited Yasu just fine; in fact, it was hilarious.

However, no matter what would truly come of Brock's little mishap, the fact of the matter was that the momentum had been killed and they were almost certainly down a member. "Ah, screw this. I'm going to chill out until this is sorted or something." She openly declared, though mostly to the girl that would have been her fight partner. She then proceeded to try and leave the field and sit down somewhere. She didn't care what the others did, but she wasn't going to have a bar of it if they were hoping to start something with her in spite of this interruption. She didn't really care for this capture the flag nonsense either; all she wanted was to see if she could have some fun with it, and now the buzz was killed.

@Sypherkhode822 I agree that introductions can be a chore to get through, especially when it's almost all you've done in recent RPing. However, I've seen plenty of RPs fall in spite of starting at an "exciting" part, and I've seen a few RPs last for years past their awkward introductions. Simple fact of the matter is RPs are touch and go no matter how you do it, and you just have to hope the people you got stuck with this time will see it through.

In fact, I was in an RP not long ago that started at a point we were all supposed to know each other and it started with a fight sequence. But as all RPs go, half of the initial cast went up in smoke in the first few scenes and the cast thinned out over the course of the RP to the point there were only 4 people left (which I was and am not one of, by the way). Now said RP has sat in silence for over two weeks and the players seem to have left it be for new horizons.

Also, going off of this, something that annoys me; when people seem to break character for no good reason. As I said, in that RP it was established the cast knew each other already by virtue of being stuck in a hellhole world for at least a year. In spite of this, someone decided that the best reaction to the death of one of their character's comrades was for them to feel nothing at all. Now, you might be thinking it's entirely possible for someone to be apathetic towards someone dying, but this was someone they were supposed to have gone through a really rough time with for a year, and the character had never been established to be so blithely apathetic towards such things in the past, not in character nor on their character sheet. In fact, their character shortly after displayed a great deal of care and affection towards another character whom they had never even interacted with once before nor been established to have any history with. This all led me to the conclusion that the player was full of shit and was RPing in line with their own whimsy and not according to any logic.
Murphy's law, everyone. Murphy's bloody law.
I posted for what it's worth.
Laila Durrani

This was proving to be the worst day ever. Laila had been expecting to be bored stupid during this festival, aside from Laz's promised diversion, but she definitely hadn't desired the level of excitement that erupted. Between the weird singing and the worsening weather, the event was already building up to be decidedly creepy. The worst came when the demons started springing out from nowhere and murdering people. Laila had no love for the Libros, but even she felt sick to her stomach when the Deacon got butchered like that. In the chaos that erupted, Laila sight of the others for a time, but when she managed to look past the fleeing crowds, she noticed Laz was right in the midst of the demons.

Even though she imagined Laz was better equipped to fight demons than she was, she still resolved to get over there and help him out. She started rushing over, only to be confronted by a few demons herself. Unleashing a stream of sand, she entrapped the lot of them before waving her hand, crushing them all within their new sandy tomb. Laila was somewhat surprised these creatures went down so easily, but she was hardly about to complain. Closing the gap between her and Laz, she unleashed a Sand Slash attack to thin out the numbers near him. "Don't worry, Laz, I've got your back!" She called out to him before readying more sand attacks. She wasn't sure just how much work she was going to need to do to thin out these hordes, but she was damn determined to empty her whole arsenal on them.

@Raijinslayer
@Crimmy I think Maiko beat Chiyu to the punchline.
