Adramelech, as always, was ready first. Not needing sleep, he'd decided the most profitable course of action would be to get ready for school, never mind that it was six hours away. To be prepared made for the best defence
and offence. This meant that at one, before Rivka had gone and spent an hour in there, he'd managed to figure out how to time the shower so that it didn't kill him with freezing water or cook him with boiling water. He considered the fact that he'd made it out alive rather impressive. Next he'd gotten dressed. And if there was one thing Adramelech had figured out, it was human clothes. They were so unique- way more boring than Hellish apparel, what with the lack of screaming souls in the fabric and so on- and one had to know how to impress. He'd only briefly acknowledged the nanny's advice to dress warmly, not knowing what that meant. Dress for warm weather? He almost had before he realized it was cold outside.
He spent half an hour deciding what to wear before settling on a dark read t-shirt, a black leather jacket- the closest thing to wearing souls, considering where leather came from- black jeans and heavy duty black boots. Unsatisfyingly simple, he thought. Still only around two in the morning when he was done, he decided to try out the meal called breakfast. Heading down the stairs by way of sliding down the banister, Adra moved into the spacious and well stocked kitchen. His boots were fairly loud on the wooden floor, and he figured that maybe he didn't need to wear them right at that moment. He kept them on anyway.
He spent a lot of time examining boxes in the cupboard, finding the blue box with a tiger on it particularly interesting. He grinned when he saw the word breakfast on the box. So this was what he was supposed to have for breakfast. With what? The orange flakes in it didn't seem to be particularly wholesome on their own, although they were sweet. Examining the box further, he decided that what he needed was the white substance and a bowl, as depicted on the front. He searched everywhere, finally finding his ingredients. Pouring copious amounts of milk and flakes into his bowl, he paused. Now what? He had the vague notion that humans cooked using fire of some sort, and turned towards the stove. He put the bowl on one of the circular bits and turned all the knobs on the stove on. The milk curdled and the flakes went weird after about an hour. Adra frowned. How did he know when it was ready? He helped in surprise as the stove burst into flames. A loud, beeping sound came on, and, pouring the rest of the milk on the fire in haste, he extinguished it. He bent over the stove curiously, backing away again in disgust. No breakfast, then.
He waited downstairs in th living room, finishing about two books as he waited for his siblings. He was fairly confident that he would settle in fine, but it was them he was worried about, especially Rivka and Abaddon. Rivka would probably kill someone if she took offence, and Abaddon might set the school on fire in the name of a prank. Thank Hell he didn't need to worry about Efah that way.
That statement was proven when Efah walked to the door, passing the entrance to the living room with plenty of time to spare to get to school. She was dressed and ready, looking innocent in her apparel.
"It's time to go." Her voice wasn't impatient, just calm as it usually was. Rivka approached her less than a minute later, and Adramelech was amused to find that they were similarly dressed. He set his book down and walked up to the pair of them, grinning lazily.
"Who's excited to mingle with the humans?"
Akane was still asleep when it was thirty minutes to school, and as such her little sister had the pleasure of bouncing all over her bed chanting,
"Wake up wake up wake up, you're gonna be late for school!" Akane sat up and rubbed her eyes, shooting her a scowl.
"I'm awake, you can leave me alone now," She complained, rolling until she fell out of bed. Her sister giggled.
"Dad says we're leaving with or without you, so you better be ready in twenty minutes," Her sister said before running out of the room.
She got ready in a rush, taking a hasty shower, brushing her teeth and getting dressed in under fifteen minutes. Scarfing down toast and orange juice, she picked up her bag from the kitchen counter before running out to the car where her sister and dad waited impatiently.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm here!" She said breathlessly. "It's about time," Her father grumbled, "Why can't you just wake up early?" Akane didn't answer, instead choosing to say some minutes into the drive,
"We've got new students coming today. Apparently they're siblings, all four of them. I wonder what they'll be like.""Hopefully more serious than you are," Her father said, amused this time and his bad mood gone. They pulled up in front of the school with ten minutes to spare before school started.
"See, Dad? No issue," Akane grinned, getting out of the car and kissing her dad on the cheek. Her sister followed suit and they waved goodbye before they turned around and parted ways, heading to their different sections of the school.
