Kiku

Though her teammates world illuminated from the light-bender Jaakuna, Kiku's remained dark. But that was fine for the Kunoichi. Her attention was caught by the SunBoy as he complimented her smell, she raised an eyebrow and grabbed her hair smelling it - the locks still had the residual of her Lavender shampoo oddly enough. "Hey thanks!" She chirped smiling, and giving Jakkuna a thumbs up. The small bit of good energy from Jaakuna - fueled her slightly in her own. Still immensely tired, she at least wasn't feeling nauseous anymore. Kiku heard the sound of the doors shutting door, and her stomach tightened slightly. The smell of death, and bones that had crunched under her feet also sent red flags. Sensing that the emotion had changed in the room, and now everyone was just as tense and ready as her.

Dropping her hair from her face, she then heard the crackings and bendings of something starting up in front of them. The nature that had littered its body since its slumber fell off, and the machine wildly came to life as quickly after they became trapped in the room. Gripping the handles of her daggers, she tensed her body up for whatever was gonna come next as the machine continued to ignite and come alive in front of her. Kiku had let out a few more clicks during this time and could see the machine evolving, now lifting one foot up - it took a harsh step forward. The ground tremored and the Kunoichi did lose her footing for a moment, but sank down on all fours like some weird animal. Her hair piled over her and the ground, feeling the tremors subside in the ground she stood back up - sensing the heat from the bright lights.

As she began to rise a side of her mask up, Shizuka's cry alerted her - feeling a force come at her swiftly. Hands suddenly wrapped around her waist and legs and cradled the small Kunoichi. She let out a yelp in surprise as it had all happened so quickly. For whatever reason, she felt completely safe in that moment - her thumb was still under mask, and she raised it up to see his Ruby eyes staring down at her. Of course, her face turned red again - especially over his little comment. "You don't have to - " She began to rebuttal softly, but stopped as he asked her to try and asses the situation. He let go of her gently, and her feet reached the ground like a ballerina - slowly lowering herself down. "I am alright, Thank you Shizuka," she smiled at him - Kiku turned away from him and became more stern. They were now officially in danger. Looking back to the being, and dropping the mask - the sound of the smack from its palm hitting the ground sent enough vibrations back to her ear that every pebble was now in focus. She breathed in sharply, "Do you guys feel that?" Kiku barked out, and tensed herself up again "Its draining this place of power" It's hand stayed in place for a moment longer and finally moved again. She felt beads of sweat accumulate on her forehead, "Shit, it's just charged itself even more"

Her ears caught Shizuka's whisper as well, and she brought herself closer to the beings hands in her head. Almost like pausing a video, she quickly examined the working of it hands, remembering she saw it in the abdomen of the previous golem. Her head facing the golem, she realized it was rather wide and large - it wouldn't be able to move too entirely swiftly. "Attacking it head on isn't going to do anything, its covered in armor..." Not really caring if Shizuka heard her or not, thinking outloud she continued studying the figure. Kiku placed her hands to her mouth cupping them, sending chakra to her vocal cords her voice boomed across to the other part of their team, "Kurin! Jaakuna! From the inside out! And aim for its palms!"

The Golem then turned towards the lavender Kunoichi and ruby-eyed Shinobi at an alarming speed. Kiku grabbed Shizuka brining their bodies very close together, "Propel off of me!" She commanded, and pushed off of him and the ground - in hopes he'd use his wind to send them both flying farther back and out of the way of the beam. But it was also in that same moment, that she had quickly placed her chained daggers around his neck. Hoping he would take initiative in knowing what to do with them. In her state, she couldn't send them with much force, but someone who could put more speed behind them - he could possibly destroy the palms of the hands of the Golem if aimed correctly and thrown at a time the hands weren't charged.

Kiku

"One. Two. Three!"

Though all 3 subjected themselves to the same punishment, Kiku let out a small yelp of pain as her arm became locked in. She tried pulling it out in fear, and realized it wasn't going to happen. Her raised heartbeat could be felt in every limb, especially in the arm that was currently stuck. Kiku felt an intense movement of her chakra to the golem itself, and then began to feel weak, her knees quivered slightly as it continued to drain the poor almost-blind girl. Sweat beaded up on her forehead, as panic set into her nerves. "No, no no no no..." a whisper escaped her lips. But, finally after what felt like an eternity - it released her arm as well as her other two comrades. Kiku quickly recoiled the freed arm to her body, and took in a fearful deep breath. Her attention turned suddenly to Shizuka as he mentioned a marking. She ripped off the glove of her right arm (the one she had inserted), lifting up one side of her mask her eye widened in a mixture of shock and fear. Her eye quickly moved to each teammate, and reassured the fact it was the same one, she began to wonder the extent of their dismay.

It was in that same moment of having her arm back, that the golem began to come to life. She was amazed by the humanoid figure, but was also in shock about her chakra depletion. Assessing the situation in her own mind, she had come to terms to realize she wouldn't be much use until she could raise her chakra levels up. Thankfully on some miniscule upside, as the golem came alive and the air swooshed towards them - she didn't have to cover her eyes. Though some dust did find its way into her mouth, coughing slightly - exhaling the years of untouched machina as she stepped backwards. It was also in this instant she found the chains and daggers too heavy around her shoulders, throwing them to the ground with a loud thud. The Kunoichi fell to her knees and shuddered from this weird sensation. Breathing in deeply, slowly regaining herself. "In...out..." She repeated mentally, trying to center herself. The golem took a lot of her chakra, almost half if 100% - and this left her pretty bare compared to what was previously used. She coughed, producing some of the dust from the golem and sighed deeply in worry of what laid ahead next.

Kiku marveled at how the beast ignored them, and then disappeared into the cavity they came from. Relief washied over the girl, as she was not up to fight in this instance. "I'm not sure about you guys...but..." She groaned, leaning forward on the floor almost into fetal position - trying to stabilize herself. The drain of her chakra could be felt immensely and she wondered if her teammates were just as drained, "I-I'm not that okay..." The lavender Kunoichi finally admitted, sliding her glove back on that she had previously ripped off. She was at a decent level of chakra, but the amount that got ripped from her left her body trying to adjust, and this did not sit well with the Kunoichi. It didn't take but a minute or two for her to stand back up, and act fine, as she picked back up her weapon of choice. The chains and dagger felt heavy in her hand, she mentally annihilated herself for nor being stronger. It was something deep in her that told her to not appear weak. "I know..." She slightly murmured, and exhaled deeply. Kiku stood up, and began to follow after Kurin.

She heard Kurin, and gave a small moan in acceptance to her name being called. Her senses already were all in a mess (though naturally heightened) it was now almost tasking for her to send chakra to her senses. "Uhm..." She stood up straight, and clicked with her tongue...not much. She then sent chakra to her tongue and let out another louder click. It did it's job, but this also made her feel a bit weary. As she went to grasp something, her hand collided with that of none other than - Shizuka's. The current Shinobi that was sliding his was under her skin. Though at this point of such a dramatically quick exit of chakra - she really wasn't feeling up to her earlier childish events. Her body still needing to catch up on the drastic depletion. "Go straight Kurin...feel the wall...I will tell you if it opens up, or anything..." She stated, moving her hand from Shizuka's hand to his arm. Holding it tightly in her own two arms. Kiku didn't want to rely on anyone. but going blind, and losing almost half your chakra in under a minute took a weird strain on your already weakening body. Aside from already using chakra to send to your senses, she was a little under half at this moment. Not expecting this twist in the challenge. She pushed her face into his arm, and in one movement pushed away from the boy. Beginning to move on her own.

Kurin led the way, and she was slowly stabilizing her body to its current state, her tongue clicked against the roof of her mouth - making a weary scene of what was around them. Bones. Kiku almost gasped, but held her composure - death was not one she was familiar with. A different aura entered her body, her arms slowly wrapped around her. An unbearable stench entered her nostrils, and almost made her want to puke. "I-I don't like how this feels....at all...."

Kiku

All at once, she could feel a wave of pressure coming at her. Quickly, she put her hands out in front of her face to evade the wind blow that Shizuka had sent her way, but it wasn't that effective as her hair snaked out behind her crazily. Washing over her, as did a few new emotions towards the Shinobi that brought upon the airwave. Her nose slightly scrunched in catching the smell of sweat again from him, though it wasn't that repulsive to her. Also, the nose scrunching was partially caused by catching him mimic her pose she had just made to him, she gasped and then pursed her lips. Only reason she was able to notice it was because of the swirling air creating a moving world for her. "Thank you, it was getting warm in here," Kiku chirped, grabbing her ridiculously long hair and bringing it over her right shoulder, combing through it with her fingers. She squinted her eyes at the boy as he walked away from her with the rest of their comrades. Though, with the mask being on - that facial expression would have been unnoticed. Kiku walked over hurridly, picking up her daggers from where she had left them on the ground, and began to make her way to her teammates. Sighing as they walked along through the corridor, not exactly annoyed but honing in on her next childish move to aim at the red eyed teammate. But, upon realizing this she stopped - inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. She couldn't allow herself to feed off her childish side too much.

Walking into the next room, she threw all her hair back over shoulder and it waterfalled down her back. Landing mere centimeters from the ground. She lifted up a side of the mask, and placed her daggers and chains over shoulders. Snapping her fingers to get a better feel of the room, looking around and staring at the bird-like golem that sat before them. It was poised, and currently seemed more of a spiritual being - but something in the room was offsetting her senses. A pull, or push - she couldn't exactly tell. It made her take note that she needed to practice on her sensesory abilities more. But as she moved closer to the being, the feeling was a little more vibrat - her one free eye connecting with the ruby device that lay within its chest. Staring it curiously, her eye then hovered around the being - seeing all the other parts of it. Deducing the possibility of what was needed from this machine, her eye then moved to the scripture - letting out a small hum of thought.

Her ears were picking up her teammates conversation, but it was only until Kurin said her name that she came back too. She turned her head over her shoulder to stare at him with her one free eye, and blinked a few times. Her head then turned to Shizuka, who seemed to come in as a white knight and try to push her out of harms way. As nice as an incentive as it was, she was currently in no mood to be spared - "I think..." she began, and let her mask drop crossing her arms. "If Jaakuna charges it himself....well that could be a toll on him. If 3 of us do, could be weakened against....who knows". She pointed at the golem, "I'm assuming this thing though...." Kiku muttered, "It really is up to Jaakuna - but I believe he will be most useful in the fight against a stone golem. Wind as well...and Earth...." Kiku rubbed the back of her head and sighed, bringing her index finger to her temple and tapping it "My genjutsu is useless here...taijutsu is my next best..... As long as I have these, I'm fine". Kiku grabbed the daggers that hung over her shoulders, and then turned her head towards Shizuka almost jumping. "What're you doing!? We don't even know what that thing is gonna do yet!" She exclaimed confused, and jogged over to him - lifting her one side of the mask again and examining his hand in the contraption. Rising up, this time she invaded his personal space by bringing her face close. If that was possible. Taking her index finger and sticking it on Shizuka's forehead, upon doing this she sent positive energy through her finger to the Shinobi, "You're so impulsive....but" She turned back to the other two teammates, and her hand left Shizuka's head, "I'm with...Windseeker here, split the weight". Walking over to one of the other mechanisms, and pointing at it for herself, "I volunteer".

Kiku

She listened to her teammates, and felt out the emotion in the room. Shizuka was being firm, Jaakuna was agreeing. Kurin was on the same side as Kiku - she could feel tension in the room heighten. She clutched her hands into tight fists, trying to combat the feeling of anxiety. Shielding her head, she moved her arms up over her head as smaller pebbles began to rain down. Kiku began to open her mouth again, ready to debate with Shizuka. She heard it first, and felt it last. The tremors abruptly stopped, she turned her head to the hourglass - it had stopped.

It seemed a lot happened in the few moments that Shizuka shone brightly as having the correct mindset for this obstacle. She was concerned about the sounds, and sudden loud thuds. Crouching down and preparing herself for a quick get-away if need be, where to she didn't know - would just fuse chakra to her feet and probably stand on the wall. But that would be a feeble attempt if this place was going to collapse, her heart nearly skipped a beat until everything just stopped. Perking back up, she looked around the room physical "What?" She spun around in a circle, still turning her head towards everything. Confused as to what was going on. The sprouting of the broken mechanism actually caused her to jump, she wasn't expecting it - there was so many other things going on sensory wises she had dropped her guard for a moment. She inhaled deeply, and exhaled a sweet breath of relief as nothing continued happen. The poor Kunoichi was now disgruntled at being wrong - only slightly though. She usually led with logic and reason during these trials and tribulations in her life, and liked facts over emotion based initiative.

But she didn't exactly notice that the light had all but disappeared - still in her own dark and confused world. Suddenly a shrill voice broke through her ears, and she almost smacked her hands over them. Then realized it was Jaakuna and almost laughed at his sudden revelation. A little tense at the sudden silence that filled the room - she heard Kurin's praise and gave a thumbs up in his general direction. "Well, it worked..." Kiku responded to Jaakuna's comment taking one of for the team. But what happened next left her a bit more disgruntled - she felt him walk up next to her, and he gracefully came close again to the Kunoichi whispering in her ear. She was now currently shooting daggers through her mask, to her "May? Hmph, no its happening - after the exams," Stating firmly, and placing her hands on her hips and leaning forward her rather ridiculous amount of hair spilling over her body as she did so - she then stuck her tongue out childishly. Not sure how to manifest the current whirlwind of emotions inside of her. Kiku was very confused by this boy's deamenor and aura, he was constantly a pleasant one - even when taking jabs at her eyes. She couldn't sense an ounce of negativity when he spoke -so reacting was rather difficult for her. Kiku began to follow her teammates, staying in the back - as she sent chakra to her senses, it suddenly illuminated vastly. She realized it Shizuka's doing, and went to say 'thank you,' but the moment of irritation wouldn't allow it for the time being. "I'm not sure where this is going...its either very long - or opens up in a very large room," She added after a moment, not sensing anything coming back to her after a few clicks.

Kiku

At this point, the lavender girl was crouched down on the ground - hands placed palm down as she felt the vibrations. Standing up, she listened intently - hearing the thud after the button was hit. Noticing the shaking had slightly all but stopped, if she listened closely - she could also still hear the sound of sand falling in the hourglass. Bringing a hand up she rubbed her chin in thought, her face twisting in disgust overhearing the word 'worm' - especially an acid spitting one. She walked away momentarily to one of the metal doors - and rapped her knuckles against it as the other hand was placed against the door. It was thick. No way of just busting through it. She sauntered back over to the Team, and began to feel the vibrations start to pick back up. Turning her attention back to the hourglass, raising an eyebrow. It seemed full again, Kiku kept her head pointed at the hourglass. Also hearing her teammates began to talk, sharing ideas.

"To the Uncertain and Distressed
Activate the Switch
And Remember your Focus
"

She repeated out loud, deep in thought. Her face went down to the switch, becoming very stiff in her movements as her thoughts consumed her. She began to send chakra out to all her sense, trying to absorb all the information she could - and keeping an ear on her teammates conversation as well. In doing this, she felt a positive aura radiate towards her, sending a calming sensation through the kunoichi. The feeling caused her body to turn towards it, raising the mask to reveal Shizuka's friendly wink and smile. The girl smiled at him softly, and felt a small tinge of pink in her face arise. But her thoughts were currently consumed with the task at hand, and she turned back towards the hourglass - then the metal doors, and back to her team.

"I think we're all correct in some way," She began, and crossed one arm under her chest as the other hand held her mask up, "To the uncertain and distressed.....upon hitting the button - all tremors seemed to have stopped," She looked at her teammates - and took her free hand pointing to her ears "I didn't hear anything - remember your focus , perhaps time to reform a plan, give a moment to...refocus" Kiku bit her lower lip, and nodded at Shizuka on the ground - though he was sitting more in protest. Walking back to her teammates, she stood near him as he sat peacefully on the ground. "The hour glass has flipped, and the vibrations began again as it did so," she had noticed this earlier upon walking back from the door, "I'm not sure of the exact time it flips, or the correlation - but they're intensifying after it flipped.. And that worm you mentioned - Kurin, acid. The door is pretty thick - but maybe something similar to acid to wear it down...." Turning towards Jaakuna, Kiku smiled slightly with a snap of her fingers, "Fire! Can you melt that door? Or is there a way to get through it you know of? I'm not too educated with temperatures or techniques needed to melt through it".

Kiku then motioned to all the metal sealed doors, "The problem, picking one...obviously not the one we came out of.." A breath escaped her lips, as she moved her hand from being crossed to her hip. "The problem with that Shizuka is, we're not completely certain of our fate, we still have a chance to alter our outcome. It is my fate to lose my eyesight, but not to die here under a bunch of rocks". She smiled at him, her mask still up and winked back. Dropping the mask, she turned towards the hour glass, and looked at the button. "I may fight you myself to buy us time and see if this works." Her tone serious as she clicked again to readjust her mental of the room, flinching as a small pebble hit her head, "We may want to hit the button soon...." she sent chakra to her feet, "The vibrations are intensifying......... Shizuka?". Kiku turned her head to him, as he just protested the idea of hitting the button again.
