Elle leaned over slightly, pulling at the bow around her neck slightly to straighten it and adjusting her hair slightly. She put in a pair of headphones and straightened up her blouse, the private collage required uniforms to be worn and whilst she often heard some complaining about it, she was used to it, all her schools growing up had required uniforms. Elle picked up a book that had been sitting on the vanity and made her way to the door, grabbing her bag on the way out and locking the door behind her.
Her nose in the book and music blasting in her ears Elle softly hummed ‘walking on Sunshine’ as she walked down the hall. She couldn’t remember how many times her friends had told her not to do that. Luckily people were polite enough to move out of the way for her; at least she assumed so since she never seemed to run into anyone. But that was to be expected when you went to a school that cost more to attend than a lot of people made in a year.
The halls of the university were all clean and fancy, the floor clean and soft, the red carpet just visible out of the corner of her eyes from the book. Of course living on the campus of the collage had been a choice, since the house her parents owned was a little over an hour away. It wasn’t worth the drive every day for classes so she’d elected to live on campus instead. And it wasn’t like the rooms were anything to laugh at, fully furnished with a bathroom and small kitchen.
In retrospect it was not her brightest idea, walking through the halls and not looking where she was going; climbing stairs was probably an even worse one. There were already a good amount of students milling about in the halls, even tis early in the morning Had her headphones not been in she may have heard the commotion coming from up the flight of stairs, or perhaps seen it if she hadn't been reading the book.
