"Hmm, that's a new one. An Argonian wanting to get a hold of some skooma." Ja took a sip from his ale and looked around to make sure no one was trying to eavesdrop. He lowered his voice and nodded to Kahl. "I know a good bit. Well, my friend here knows more than I do, actually, but there is something I need to know before I tell you. I don't need money, I've stolen about two thousand septims. What I'm looking for, and my friend as well, is transport. If you will give us a ride, even if it means we do menial labor while on board, then we will share what we know." Ja leaned back and held his bottle, pretending to read the label to give the Argonian a chance to think.
I'm almost tempted to make up a sea chanty that Ja learned from one of his previous voyages. Yeah, I'm gonna do it just to do it. It'll probably be shite but I'll try anyway
Ja walked back to the table with the ales and set the one with moon sugar in front of the Argonian and sat across from her. "My friend here is Kahl. He was just in a... spot of trouble, he's still recovering. Pretty handy with a blade he is though." Ja took a sip of his fifth or sixth drink within a few hours, he couldn't remember. "Now, you know this one is named Ja'Ranjo, but before I divulge what I might know, I would like to know a little bit about yourself and your companion. I like knowing who I'm giving information in case they could come back and damage me if I share something I heard wrong." Ja sat his ale down and put his elbows on the table and put on his professional manner, something he learned from years of bargaining with ship captains and guards. "Now, what can this humble Khajiit do for you?"
Ja was surprised. Usually most women he tried this on turned him down, almost always with a smack or, even once, a threat to call the guards. "Of course, my friend and I were just settling in. You could join us if you wish." He gestured to the table where Kahl was still sitting. "And there will always be someone here willing to sell some moon sugar, allow me to buy you some." Ja walked over to the waiter and asked for two ales, one of them to have moon sugar mixed in. As an after thought, he also ordered a sweetroll. Perhaps this Argonian would be interested in hiring, as long as he proved himself valuable, or at least not a complete fool.
As Ja started telling Kahl about talking to women, an Argonian accompanied by a Breton. "An odd bunch," he thought to himself. However, Ja was more interested in the fact that this Argonian carried herself with an air of importance. That, or Ja thought that about everyone other than him. He mentally shrugged and stood from the table. "I will be right back my friend, I must go talk to someone." He walked to the door where the two were standing. Ja walked straight to the Argonian and gave a deep bow. "Ja'Ranjo, at your service madam." He straightened up and looked into hopefully his next employer's eyes. "You don't look like most of the people that come through here, and you must be new to Khenarthi's Roost. This one knows a bit about the town and can help you find something if need be." He cracked a slight smile. "For example, a nice place to have fun would be up the stairs and the second door on the right. Or a good place to get some coin, I've been a bit busy while I've been here. But perhaps you already know what you are looking for, yes?" Ja regretted telling a complete stranger about his coin stash, mostly because these strangers saw him as an unarmed Khajiit with minimal protection. Hopefully he wouldn't need to try and defend his ill-gotten money, Ja wasn't so sure that Kahl would be a match for one of the two and Ja definately wasn't up to fighting both of them at once.
I just got back from doing some housework, I thank you for never doubting me. Working on a post now.
Hey Elite, since I've established that Ja is already one to flirt with pretty much any woman he sees, could he make an ass out of himself in the tavern?
So many stereotypes...
Yay for friendship!

Sorry for bein gone for a while guys, someone's asked me to co-GM an RP with them so I've been working on that as well as housework. I should be less busy now
