Ja looked over at the Dark Elf woman that had walked in and interrupted his efforts to make S'Hani fall for him. "That much will probably cost you... around 25 septims alone for the meat you've got there. Perhaps you could give it to Ja'Ranjo to hold on to for this fine young lady?" S'Hani smacked Ja in the back of the head and gave him a reprimanding look. "You can annoy me, but don't annoy my customers." Ja held his hands up. "I apologize madam, I will leave immediately." He turned to the Dark Elf. "And you, my sweet, pretty little Dunmer, I will never try and swindle you again. But no promises." Calling the Dunmer little was inaccurate, as she stood at the same height as Ja. He bowed and showed himself out of the Knapsack.

Outside, Kahl was waiting for him. Ja adjusted the strap leather strap holding his pauldron on and looked at his companion. "Let us go. Unless there is something else you would like to steal, like those knives, or buy something, there is nothing I need. We can head back to the tavern if there is nothing else. I will let you decide."

Sabuit narrowed her eyes at the Khajiit making his way out of the store back to his erstwhile companion, the other Khajiit at the store's entrance. She could still hear his words ringing in her ears... "my sweet, pretty little Dunmer..." Who the hell was 'he' to refer to her in such a way?! It made her sound like a harlot or a courtesan, and certainly not the daughter of a noble family, however 'minor' they might be in the grand scheme of things! With a sigh, she turned back to the shopkeep, who shrugged and took hold of Sabuit's food. "He's 'such' a character, that one. I swear, he's just trying his best to bed me at any opportunity."

"It would appear he regards all females in the same category." Sabuit responded, somewhat coolly and still unhappy over the Khajiit's method of talking to her. "Regardless, how much?"

"Not one to mince your words, I see..." The shopkeeper was slightly taken aback by Sabi's businesslike countenance, but she took it in her stride. "That will be," a brief pause ensued whilst the shopkeep did some basic sums, "about 12 septims, all in all, and definitely contrary to what that rascal earlier tried to have you believe." Sabuit nodded and fished out her coin purse and laid out 12 gold coins, which the shopkeep collected and placed into a bag behind the counter. "Do you need anything else whilst you're here?"

Sabuit thought for a moment, racking her brains to remember if there was anything missing... Aha! "Yes, actually. Do you have a cutting knife suitable for meat - my own snapped yesterday whilst I was skinning a deer, and I planned to buy a replacement here..."

"One minute." The shopkeep walked over to a back area of the shop and began rummaging around for a knife, leaving Sabuit once again alone with her thoughts. Try as she might, she couldn't keep herself from thinking back to the scoundrel Khajiit who had been such 'a character' as the shopkeep put it. He did possess 'some' roguish charm, Sabuit admitted to herself, and his rambunctious, swashbuckling manner was certainly not without it's own charms. He wouldn't look out of place on a pirate ship, she thought with a slight smile. After all, there must be plenty roving the coasts, especially around here. After a few minutes, the shopkeep returned with a carving knife that was exactly what Sabuit was looking for. "The knife is another 10." Sabuit nodded again and laid out another 10 gold coins. "Thank you. Oh, and try not to use that carving knife on Ja'Ranjo, would you? For all of his irritation, it's amusing to see his struggles."

Sabuit smiled. "I will try. Thank you." She gathered together her purchases and headed for the door. Now, to find a suitable place to eat... She headed for a nearby hillock that overlooked the harbour area of the town. There, she lay out a blanket and began cutting the meat into small slices to eat with the bread and butter. A simple meal, but it would do. Once more, her thoughts went back to that Khajiit. Ja'Ranjo, as the shopkeep called him... Sabuit was unfamiliar with Khajiit naming customs, and so if the name meant anything in particular she was ignorant of it, but at least she now had a name to put to the face, of she ever saw him. His words still rang in her ears as a town bell's peal might do if you stood too close to it... It both enraged her that he would have the guts to talk in such a manner... and yet intrigued her. She wanted to know more about this Ja'Ranjo person. She took a bite of bread, butter and meat and thought about how best to approach him if she ever came across him again. Sabuit wasn't good with people - she never had been competent in social situations, and so it was difficult to think of anything to say. Her mind blanked. She shrugged and opened up her knapsack and pulled out The White Devil once again and started to read, taking another bite of her food.

Kahl watched as Ja exited the shop. He started walking back to the tavern. He looked around making a note of all the alley ways. With all the shops and raods in his head he prepared to make map. He did not know why, but would keep him busy. That seemed important to him.

"Oh piss off, at least I did something productive. Don't even think about going back and telling her. Or you will find all ten of these in your back." He smirked as he said that.

"Now, where heading back to the tavern, but you're not there to get drunk, we need to find some work. So if you wanna get drunk leave now. "

Kahl didn't turn to look at Ja's expression after that. Instead he walked faster towards the tavern. He opened the door, random noise filled his ears, he scanned the room and sat down at an empty table. He leaned back in his chair, staring at his new toys. He smiled, admiring what a good job he did stealing the knives.

"You'd be amazed on how precise and fast these things are. Anyways, where are you from? And why are you here?"

Ja sat down across from Kahl and ordered another ale, mostly because he wanted one, but also to annoy Kahl. "Ja'Ranjo is not easily intoxicated. And I do look for work, but I wait for it to come to me. Looking for work is just so... Mundane." The same Khajiit waiter from before set the bottle of ale down in front of Ja, who gulped half the bottle in one go. Now he was starting to feel a strong buzz from the alcohol, as this was his fourth ale in an hour. He set the bottle down and looked Kahl up and down. "And I never ridiculed you on stealing those knives. On the contrary, your technique was a bit basic, which is probably why she took all 18 septims for a simple shirt that should've cost around 7." Ja laughed. "This town runs on thievery, all the shop keepers know it happens. There's nothing wrong with it at all." Ja took a small sip from his bottle, trying to keep himself from getting too drunk. Then again, he couldn't help it; drinking was a habit he picked up when he visited Skyrim a few months back, and he couldn't shake it. "You ask why Ja'Ranjo is here? This is a town of opportunity! There are ships to be plundered, drunk fools to be robbed blind. Plus finding new work, which hopefully comes soon. I don't like being in any one place for more than a week. As for where I'm from, that is a story for another time little fur. You've only known me a week and you're already asking me these things." Ja shook his head and took another swig.

Noelle stood her ground, her face marked with a subtle but smug grin, unaware that Sharee was onto her magic. The magic was going to last a few more minutes, but this would be a good chance to get into Sharee's good graces. While the effect isn't permanent, the actions done during ti's duration can often result in the same effect. In other words, if Noelle can actually raise Sharee's disposition to a high level while Sharee is still under the effects of Noelle's illusion, she should continue having the same feelings for Noelle. Now the breton just had to play her cards right. "You flatter me Captain, if that's your intent. And I cannot say that I would not enjoy that... But maybe another time, when neither of us have our duties to attend to." Noelle tried to play the professionalism card. It works rather well for her when she was a bard, good for keeping suitors away when she really does have to do work. It gave them the impression that she was actually giving them a chance. But at the same time, she can't let her quarry get away. She'd try to reverse the table of questioning. "Perhaps it was all the drink from last night? Though I doubt that someone of your constitution would be effected by merely a barrel or two of ale. Still... While I'm in town, perhaps I can find a tonic to ease the effect of all the alcohol. Would that please you?"

"Oh, I can say that my intent is not just flattery." Sharee responded. Her suggestive tone implied one thing, but her real meaning was far more manipulative. Noelle's words were like honey. They were convincing, and she wanted to believe them, but Sharee was a far more stubborn and willful individual than most. She had been attracted to plenty of people over the years. They were always male, but Noelle was a stretch enough that she could have accepted it, but this time, she was feeling a level of trust that was completely unlike her. She was not completely certain yet, but her suspicions had been cemented.

"For something like this...my duties can wait." Sharee commented as she started to walk towards the door, still maintaining a suggestive demeanor. "You know, I can't quite tell you why I feel that way about you, it's just..." She said in a cheery and upbeat voice before suddenly slamming the door surprisingly harshly. Turning her head back, she looked at Noelle with a far more serious, almost angered glare. "...I don't think it was the ale." She said, her voice losing any semblance of its former suggestive tone.

Noelle was going to try to keep smoothing talking Sharee when she suddenly slammed the door, blocking Noelle's only viable exit. Sharee's former, seductive appearance was replaced with one far more furious. Noelle's own expression changed, to a more stoic and aloof look that masked her fright and worry. "This shouldn't be happening, the magic should still be in effect..." Noelle thought, looking at Sharee. The magic was still there, but the captain... Was more perspective than Noelle thought. But it should still be in effect, and now that Sharee was more or less onto her, she needed to use it more than ever. More importantly, Noelle needed to defuse this situation before things got out of hand. "However... I can't rely on magic right now. I have to think of something..." Clearing her throat, Noelle put on a smile. Both to hide her intentions as well as give her a boost of confidence. "Oh? Well than, perhaps it's something more serious... An maybe, just maybe, a touch unfamiliar." At times like this, crime, once exposed, has no refuge but in audacity.

Sharee stopped, her expression slowly becoming a smile. She went back to walking towards Noelle in a suggestive fashion with a calmer voice. "What is love? Some say it is what happens when two souls destined to be together find one another." Once she reached Noelle, she reached out and lightly placed a hand on her cheek. "Others might say it is when two people find each other simply irresistible, but me? What do I call love?" She leaned in close to Noelle until her snout was only a few inches from her face, still holding a smile. "A lie." She said, her expression immediately turning serious and her voice harsh.

Sharee pulled away from Noelle, baring her teeth as she looked down at her. "Attachment is not something I've exactly ever been big on. You expect me to believe that, after years of going by my own whims, doing whatever and whoever suited my pleasures, that I would suddenly fall for some Human woman I've barely spoken to? I'll admit, you almost had me. I could have accepted that my attraction to you, but the sudden surge of trust? Not so much. No more games, no more stringing me along with whatever it is you're doing. You can trust me when I say that whatever cooperation you give me now is only going to help you. If you play this right, if you speak honestly, then you'll keep your pay, your job, and your life. Now, what is going on?"

Noelle's facade never wavered, but inside her mind was in a frenzy. "This isn't happening, this shouldn't be happening- Shit, what am I going to do now!?" Noelle's lips quivered for a moment, and she resigned herself to speak the truth. It was obvious that Sharee, even without magical means, could see through her lies. Noelle would just have to tell her the truth, or at least not lie about what she did. "I never thought that you would fall for love. Not that I know what it is, hence why I asked. Ah, but listen to me, beating around the bush... Well, when I came in today, I found you asleep on the floor reeking of ale. I figured you were drunk and I was hesitant to wake you up, less I find you in a sour mood. And I wanted to talk to you about the plans for the ship, but I know I can't act on it without your approval, which you might not be so willing to give if you're still in a stupor. And time was of the essence. So I... Cast an enchantment on myself. It increases my charisma and personality, allow me to have and air of ease and familiarity even with total strangers. And among closer associates like you and I, it creates a much more... Intimate relationship." Noelle spoke with the truth, though with a hint of nervousness and fear, likely because the captain was staring daggers into her. And may soon put physical ones into her as well.

"Though I do speak honestly that I never thought that you think of me so well that you would even be willing to lay with me. I had imagined our relationship was... Professional at best. We haven't really gotten to know each other that well that I would have thought you would have such feeling for me while I was still enchanted. The spell should have worn off by now, just so you know. I hope you don't mind my magic. It has served me well, and I intend to still use it as often as I can, for whatever reason arises." Noelle bowed her head and kept it there, not looking Sharee directly into her face. Noelle was putting herself at the captain's mercy; she could very well drive a dagger into the Breton's back or even decapitate her, if Sharee was so inclined. Noelle just hoped that she was honest enough not to get executed.

Sharee was quite obviously furious, but she did not turn violent, not yet. Instead, she sneered at Noelle, then took a seat across from her at the table. She leaned forward, glaring at the Breton before her. "So, you thought it wise to try and manipulate me? I don't care how to try to pretty it up, you used your magic to try to subvert my own thoughts, it doesn't even really matter for what reason. You reached into the mind of me, your captain, to try and influence me into giving you what you wanted. I [i[hope[/i] you can see why that is unacceptable, and cannot go unpunished. Now, I'm a woman of my word. You confessed when asked, so you still have your job and your pay, but I cannot, nor would I want to, just let this go. Right now, you have two choices. Choice one is that you give in and accept your punishment with some dignity. You put up no resistance and let me do what I need to do to give a good example of why my crew shouldn't cross me and I'll cut the severity of your punishment in half. We'll get it over with, then get back to business as usual. Choice two is that you try to escape your punishment, I detain you, then I punish you anyway, at full severity. I can guarantee that things won't be the same for you after that. Now, make your choice, what will it be?"

Malakaus’ response was terse, disillusioned. Sarel’s pipe emptied upon the end of Malakaus speaking. He tapped it on the edge of the boat and let the ash fall into the water, tucked the pipe in his boot. He wore his chitin armor presently with only one sword on him, he was well armored but lightly armed. He would need to find a nice bit of armor fit for the ocean and swimming. He brought with him a small ruck sack, filled with various items, scrolls, books, roughly 2,500 septims, a couple of welkyd stones, and a few gems. He hoped that would be enough currency to get what he needed. The things which were to be delivered to the ship could be paid upon delivery, using the ships bank, and only Sharee knew how much gold was in there.

“This sounds reasonable. But, gentlemen,” Sarel began, lifting himself from the bannister and setting off down the ramp, “let’s not stoop to barbarism. We’re pirates, not bloody savages.”

Serge unconsciously glanced over at Malakaus, not realizing how obnoxious that might be, not early enough at least. He quickly looked away, hoping he didn’t offend too much.
“Agreed. We’re all… quite civilized.” Serge added.

They walked back down the ramp and Sarel approached the Khajiit Authority, who was making to finish off the flask Sarel had offered as a token of friendship. Sarel quickly snatched the flask from the furry fingers and tucked it into his armor pocket, just behind his cuirass. Then, with an impetuous seriousness and the flexibility of a trained wizard, Sarel drew a circle in the air next to his waist, very subtly, and then stuck his hand into it. This was a trick he’d been taught by his master, it was something common amongst travelers really. Essentially the spell was a portal into a void, a magical space where one can maintain and easily locate their personal effects. Very useful when in a foreign place when you didn’t want to reveal your purse. Sarel pulled a twenty coin bag, filled completely, from the void and set it into the authorities hands.
“My friends and I have business to attend to. Consider this a tip, for being so welcoming.” Sarel said evenly.

“Where did that come from?” Serge asked with a childish curiosity.

“Impressive magics, fine coin” the Khajiit weighed the bag in his hands happily. “This one sees no problem with letting such sophisticated travelers into our markets. Try not to cause too much trouble eh?”

Sarel nodded and the Khajiit walked up the ramp to wait for the captain, happy with his little tip.

“You must teach me how to do that.” Serge commented as the group walked from the dock cobblestone to the loose brick of the tiny city ahead.

“I’d have to consult some old notes, but I might be able to manage that.” Sarel said with a dignified wisdom. Sarel realized that the city seemed to split into two different areas. The industrial area was to their right, where one could purchase all kinds of materials and scrap parts for boats. The market and taverns were ahead, further into the city. Sarel looked over to Malakaus, who looked more interested in business rather than pleasure. He removed a note he’d scribbled earlier from his armor pockets and held it as he looked over to Malakaus, stopping the group at the injunction.

“Malakaus, if you wouldn’t mind, I had some personal business to take care of in town. You are just a good a craftsman as me, if not better. I suppose I can trust your discretion. Every bit of material on this list must be high quality. Some Oak, and pine planks, metal castings, tapestry, things like that. Have it charged to the ship and delivered there.” Sarel held the note out to the Orc, hoping his new friend, and lower ranking officer, wouldn’t give him too much trouble. Malakaus seemed to be a spirited individual, prone to flights of fickleness, but he was also a killer at heart; killers were more likely, than perhaps any other kind of person, to respect those who deserved it, and Sarel felt like he’d shown that he deserved it. Besides, they were in a brotherhood now.

Serge looked over to the edge of the city as Sarel spoke with Malakaus. His blue eyes squinted at the horizon, his furry brown brows furrowed below the tattoo which carefully lined his crown. Outlined by the brilliant horizon, and cerulean sky was a beautiful feminine form, draping a cloth over the bluff on which she stood. Serge’s eyes perked up instantly, his soft pink lips forming into a boyish grin.

A true male Breton, it is said, can always find the most beautiful girl in any town. And, now, as Serge watch this Dunmer woman make her camping spot above the harbor, he knew that, not only was the saying true, but he was, indeed, a true male Breton. Serge awaited his friend to join him so that he could relish over his serendipitous findings.

Malakaus didn't look at the two, but he rolled his eyes at their comment about keeping their side work civilized. "Nothing civilized about what we do. We steal and kill for fun and profit. But I'll try not to make too much of a mess of it." The three went back to the khajit where Seral bribed him to let the three into the city. Malakaus instinctively reached for his axe, which he didn't have, as he was fairly used to having it rest on his shoulder. Either that or a pick, or just something. Thinking back to Sarel's comments about barbarism, Malakaus wondered if he should have taken that as an insult, a compliment, or a sad reminder that he's not in a land he's familiar with. Ultimately he chose not to think about it, he had work to do. "Let's find that metal." If his grunts did their jobs, most of his things should have already been secured. He hasn't seen hide or hair of any of them though, and he flexed his hand at the thought of beating some sense into any that he found already slacking off.

Soon Seral stopped him and handed him a note. On it was a list of things that Seral needed, though for what Malakaus wasn't entirely sure. He imagined that it was for the ship, but Malakaus was uncertain if Seral was aware that the orc planned to create armor for the ship himself. Seral was responsible for the ship's repairs... Well, Malakaus would just have to figure out a way to design the ship in such a way that it would fall under his jurisdiction. Malakaus did find it a bit quirk some that Sarel was handing off what was presumably his job to the orc, though he made a note to repay the "favor" later. "Don't get yourself too high. You might smoke more than a smelter, but we're in Khajit Lands now. Their moon sugar is leagues above what gets smuggled out of their lands." Malakaus laughed a little, knowing very well that both of them could probably handle the local skooma if they imbibed it. It was mostly foreshadowing for what Malakaus planned to do later. He walked away waving the note in his hand and waving good bye to the other two.

Malakaus hit a few shops and workhouses selling what Malakaus needed. To his surprise, it wasn't hard securing the deals. Perhaps the natives didn't feel so inclined to haggle or argue against a three-hundred pound orc in full heavy armor. Either that or they were scamming him, which if they were, he'd show them why they should worry about said three-hundred pound orc in full heavy armor. The only difficult part seemed to be that they won't have the shipment ready until later today, and that they tried to squeeze more money from him by offering to move the materials to the ship using their own workers, for a fee. Malakaus didn't buy this as they had their own ample supply of crewmembers to haul the supplies back to the ship. Malakaus just needed to find them, mostly his Typhoon Warriors. They should be able to spread the message themselves. Now he just began to look around town for where his warriors would be. "They better haven't started shooting up skooma before me..."

The celebration had passed in a blur of laughter, banter and no small amount of alcohol. Kayal spent most of the night in the heart of the celebration socializing with anyone who would lend an ear and downing as many brandies as he could. By the time dawn broke Kayal awoke with a splitting headache and the nausea to support it. The beginning of the day was mostly filled with attempting to find a way to alleviate the hangover and finding work to do. He spent most of his time in the infirmary using his restoration skill to heal any of those that needed it until his stores of magicka were all but drained. After which he assisted the sailors in anyway he could, his years of experience in sailing shown true as he climbed about the mast and moved about the deck.

When possible he did what he could to teach both Zana and Nalla the know-how to work such a vessel. Their learning was slow, but given they had little knowledge to begin with Kayal was essentially starting from scratch. Eventually he stopped assisting the sailors and began moving about the vessel explaining as best he could exactly what it was each sailor was doing. It wasn't the most fun activity but it was time consuming and it helped both Zana and Nalla expand their knowledge of sailing. With the newly appointed officers bring more order to the crew, their ship finally started feeling like an actual functioning vessel as apposed to the messy rabble it had been. People began to spread out and work in certain areas as apposed to lounging around or finding something to do.

All the while Sharee went about drinking, yelling, joking, shouting, laughing and otherwise being her usual self as she wrestled the crew into shape. The other officers worked to get their own departments in order. Over the course of the next few days changes were made across the ship, proper chefs were assembled and the food began to resemble food as Cynric whipped his chefs into shape, sometimes whipping seeming more literal then figurative. The infirmary began to be populated by permanent staff, something the wounded seemed to be quite thankful for as their moans and groans began to subside he supposed due to the work and charm of Noelle. The crew began receiving weapons and armor thanks to the work of Malakaus, it wasn't the best gear, but with what materials Malakaus had available, Kayal was certainly impressed. The ship also began receiving repairs, no doubt thanks to the efforts of Sarel, the damage done to the ship in the fight to take it slowly began to disappear little by little it was beginning to resemble its former self. Serge, the newly appointed Quartermaster and supposed ladies-man as rumors said, was helping Sharee in bringing order to the vessel.

Finally, after several days of sailing Khenarthi’s Roost lay before them. Being in dominion controlled waters and far from High Rock Kayal had very rarely visited the island let alone could he remember much more then it having a small city primarily populated by Khajiits. It didn't have much, but it had enough to keep a ship full of pirates or sailors entertained for a few days. How long Sharee intended to stay here was beyond Kayal, he hadn't spoke to her since they took the vessel. He had been doing a good job of keeping himself busy helping in anyway he could around the vessel, primarily helping train their fighters to sail and helping some sailors learn how to fight as well as looking over the few maps he had for areas they may want to pay a visit to and where they could best sell their "goods".

As the vessel neared port Kayal stood upon the bow of the vessel looking off at the quickly nearing island, he heard the familiar voices of Sarel and Serge as they shouted their order to the crew as they brought the ship into port. Kayal's eyes danced over the forms of the multiple already docked vessels, most of them seemed to be merchant ships or simple fishing vessels though there did seem to be a Aldmeri warship docked to the far side of the port showing that the military did in fact have a presence here, no matter how small. Kayal smiled as he admired the vessel, it seemed to be about the same size as their own, but it's design was distinctly Aldmeri.

The night before he had ran into Sharee when she was enjoying what he could only imagine was one of many bottles of brandy considering the state she was in. She had said something about needing to speak to him in the morning, but before he could ask as to what it was she needed she got distracted and made several sexual comments before taking her leave heading to what he could only assume was her quarters. The encounter, being their first conversation over the course of the days since the taking of the ship, was not quite what he had expected. But with what he knew of Sharee he knew he should begin to expect the unexpected, especially when she was drunk.

So now he waited here on the deck until Sharee made her appearance. Considering the state he had seen her in last night she likely wasn't waking up in the best of conditions so he thought it best to give her some time for the hangover to settle or pass until he approached her on what it was she needed. He knew Sharee likely wouldn't give a skeever's ass if he bothered her when she was hangover, but he had some ulterior motives to not approaching her in her room. In honesty he had guessed they would be nearing port this time and he wanted to take some time to enjoy the view and to scope out the city.

But now as the vessel finally docked and Sarel and Serge strode off to meet the Thalmor docking authorities the time to enjoy the view had passed and it was time to head back to work, starting with meeting Sharee. Turning away from the city before him he scanned over the people before him looking for one face in particular, as his search turned up empty handed a frown came to his face. Where is that ornery Argonian? He thought to himself. Perhaps it was time for him to start seeking her out, if he waited much longer she would likely get busy dealing with other issues aboard the vessel. Kayal let out an exaggerated sigh, "Oh well, it's not as if courtesy is a major requirement for pirates." He joked to himself before stepping away from the bow and making his way to the stairs.

He passed by the ramp that led down to the dock where Serge, Sarel and as it seemed Malakaus went to meet the Docking Authority, just in time for Serge to come jogging back up it, he was certainly moving with something of a purpose so Kayal could only imagine it involved either a pretty girl or something with the captain. As the Breton jogged past Kayal couldn't help but drift into his own thoughts as he walked in his wake. From what he had heard of the pair Sarel and Serge he was not yet sure he liked or disliked them, he had heard both good and bad things about the two of them, though could form no real opinion himself as he hadn't had the pleasure or displeasure of talking to either of them. Though in honesty it was the same for most of the officers aboard the vessel, he had barely spoken to any of them. The only ones that really stood out were, Noelle, Cynric, Sarel, Serge and Malakaus they had done some good for the vessel so far and deserved some kind of respect for it.

From what he had heard Noelle had quite a way with words and could talk her way out of and possibly into a few sticky situations. Word from the kitchen said that Cynric ran a very tight ship, word had it he had a temper when it came to disrespect either to him or to his kitchen but other wise he was a rather eccentric man. Malakaus was said to be a rather heavy handed individual, he had a way of intimidating those under him to their very bones and for good reason, apparently if you could see what he could do with a hammer you would understand why a fist was just as bad. What Kayal had heard of Sarel wasn't much to go off of, he was a respectable and serious man, but he had an air about him that most Dunmer had. Serge had managed to worked up a reputation, he was certainly an ex imperial legionary when the time called for it, but other times he seemed to be more fixated upon the nearest woman then anything else. All in all from what he had heard about these officers he was not sure what to think of any of them, at least, not until he had the chance to formerly meet each of them.

By the time Kayal had drifted back into reality he had arrived at Sharee's room, as he neared the door he lifted his hand and reached for the handle before he noticed the voices coming from within. They seemed to be discussing something so kayal let his hand drop down to his side, I will let them finish their business before disturbing. He thought to himself as he silently stepped back and made his way back a little ways from Sharee's door. He took a place leaning on a nearby wall as he waited for their discussion to be over.

Kayal's gaze dropped down to his gear as he tried to find something to distract himself with. He was wearing his usual attire including his chain shirt and coat. On his left hip was his steel longsword, on his right was his steel dagger he had elected to keep his bow and quiver back in his quarters due to the fact he did not require it, though still he looked as though he was well and prepared. His gaze lifted up just as he heard Sharee's door open as Serge stepped out, Kayal's eyes followed after the Breton as he passed by, Seems he still has somewhere to be Kayal thought to himself. It seemed though that Serge had left Sharee's door wide open. Kayal could not clearly hear the voices of both Sharee and Noelle.

He listened as Noelle spoke, "Thank you, captain. I know that appearances isn't really important for the day-to-day business on the ship, but... It's always nice to look your best. Was there... Anything else you wanted?" She asked. Kayal raised an eyebrow and turned his head slightly so his ear was in the direction of Sharee's door as his curiosity was peaked slightly. He listened a little more intently for Sharee's response after some moving around and what sounded like searching for something Kayal heard Sharee speak up, "Yes, actually. I'm looking to figure out why I have the sudden and strong urge to take you to my bed." Sharee replied. At this Kayal's eyes opened wide in surprise and he raised his hand to his mouth as he held back his urge to laugh. Kayal glanced over to the door surprised, he wasn't expecting to have heard something like that but in honesty he wasn't too surprised, it was Sharee after all. Yet still that did little to dampen the humor it provided.

Still Kayal listened, soon enough Noelle spoke with her response, "You flatter me Captain, if that's your intent. And I cannot say that I would not enjoy that... But maybe another time, when neither of us have our duties to attend to." She said seeming to be trying to dissuade Sharee Kayal smirked slightly before Noelle spoke up again, she pinned the source of Sharee's want on the brandy and offered to pick up something from town to ease the effects of the brandy. Though it was a kind offer it was also obviously a way to warm up to the captain. Though when Sharee spoke up again she showed she was clearly not interested, "Oh, I can say that my intent is not just flattery." She said as straightforward as possible. Kayal once more held back the urge to laugh. Sharee's voice soon picked up again, "For something like this...my duties can wait." She said before someone began walking, their footsteps quickly got closer and Kayal's humor quickly faded. He silently changed his position quickly and silently slipping into the hallway he had come from so he would avoid being seen by Sharee as she reached the door.

As the footsteps stopped she spoke up again, "You know, I can't quite tell you why I feel that way about you, it's just..." She said happily before suddenly and abruptly the door was slammed shut. It took Kayal all he had to keep from jumping. His heartbeat quickened and he stepped out from the hallway he had hidden in looking as though he had just arrived. He half expected to see Sharee standing in front of the door but found the room was empty and soon realized the voices from the other side of the door. kayal let out a sight of relief. As he did he noticed something odd, though the voices were muffled he could make out a distinct change in tone from what he recognized as Sharee's voice.

Kayal eyed the door with complete and utter surprise. "What in oblivion?" He said under his breath as he continued to watch the door. Soon Kayal calmed and he retook his place leaning on a nearby wall this time a little further away from the door. He could not lie he was extremely curious what was going on in that room right now but he choose not to push his luck any further. Instead he lifted his hand before him and summoned forth a fireball that he kept floating just above his hand, slowly he began passing the orb back and forth between his hands as he tried his best to distract himself.

Noelle would have corrected the captain that she didn't delve into her mind and control it any more than than Noelle would have if she wore a particularly attractive dress or had a ring with the same enchantments she cast on herself. But she didn't because, in truth, Noelle did use her magic to manipulate Sharee's minds. Perhaps unaware of that exact detail, but Noelle's spell was two parted: Enchant herself to increase her Charisma, and Charm Sharee if it wasn't enough. Even if the captain isn't aware of the actual truth, Noelle chose not to mention it simply to prevent a bad situation from getting worse.

Sharee gave Noelle a choice of how she could take her punishment. Either without resistance and let Sharee be at least a bit merciful to her, and what was implied to be a chance at escape. Implied being that Sharee was confident that Noelle would be captured anyways, and given that she managed to see though her Illusions, Noelle was fairly certain that the captain could. Normally Noelle would cut her loses and make her getaway, but where would she go? She had a geographical knowledge of most parts of Elsweyr, but she lacks the experience of putting it into good use. Not to mention, she doubt that the local governing body would appreciate a wandering breton without her papers. And that's assuming that, even if Noelle escapes, Sharee won't chase her down. Noelle tried to be a bit idealistic in thinking that maybe Sharee wouldn't bother to go chasing her across Tamriel, but could she really be sure of that? What if she sends her officers? "No..." Noelle whispered solemnly. "I... I'm at your mercy, captain." Noelle didn't really have an idea of what Sharee was going to do with her. Flog her? Pour acid on her? Lock her in the brig? The posssiblities were only limited by Sharee's creativity and effort. Noelle shuddered at the thoughts.

Sharee crossed her arms and nodded. "Good. Since you're being so cooperative, I'll keep it nice and simple. Fifteen lashes, on the deck, in front of the crew. I'll say what you did, then deliver the punishment myself. We have work to do now, so we're not doing it right this second. Later this afternoon, maybe early tomorrow morning depending on how things go. Now, you still have duties to perform. Get ashore, get what you need for the infirmary, and keep an eye out for any marks. You stay cooperative and impress me with your performance and I might even give you a bit of extra leniency."

As she spoke, Sharee got herself dressed in her leather pants and chainmail vest, and armed with her cutlass and daggers. In order to avoid looking too threatening, she left her crossbow behind and kept her smaller blades well-hidden. As usual, she also carried a bag filled with useful potions and poisons of her own make. The situation with Noelle had her annoyed, but she needed to think clearly enough not to make any mistakes. Sharee could not afford to let the offense slide, as using her magic to manipulate herself or the other officers was definitely unacceptable. However, she needed to be careful not to be too hard on Noelle, as her illusions could be immensely useful as well, not to mention her role in the infirmary. While she would quite enjoy making the Breton suffer, she needed to make the flogging quick and limit the lasting pain to make sure she wasn't too resentful.

Once she was ready, Sharee shepherded Noelle out of her quarters, then left just behind her. To her surprise, Kayal was waiting right by the door, though Sharee did not show any visible reaction at first. After locking the door to her cabin, she motioned for Kayal to follow so they could walk and talk. She had already been delayed long enough and needed to get ashore. "Enjoy the conversation? What do you want?"

Sarel laughed at Malakaus’ comments, shook his head in response, “I shall endeavor to stay awake for the remainder of the day.”

Soon enough Sarel and Serge were walking down the narrow brick streets, pass thin brownstones, and apothecaries, and clothing shops. Serge tapped his friends shoulder as he motioned to a jewelers open door. Serge gawked at some of the finer pieces tucked into silk under the glass cases, whistling when he noticed the prices. A flamboyant Khajiit came from a backroom, dressed in fine, colorful linens. He tossed his silk scarf over his shoulder as he approached the counter.

“How may this one help you?” He asked mysteriously.

Serge looked toward the glass cases behind the Khajiit on the walls and eyed each item patiently. “I was looking for earrings. Something flashy.”

The Khajiit looked over to Sarel who was busy filling his pipe, noticed his own earrings. “Like your friend’s?” he asked.

“Not so much—“ Serge began.

“I doubt it. These are Gilded Ka Po Ivory, made in Akaviir.” Sarel interrupted without even looking up.

“Yes, I see,” said the Khajiit, “quite extraordinary. Would you be interested in parting with them?”

“Not on my life.” Sarel said with a smile, completing the filling of his pipe.

“What were you looking for?” The Khajiit asked Serge.

“Not gold. Small, but attractive.” Serge was a little listless.

“I have just the thing.” The Khajiit walked back into the back room. Serge came to join Sarel who had just lit his pipe.

“I saw this girl, near the harbor. I want to go see what she looks like up close, but I think I already know that she’s beautiful.” Serge was lit up with that boyish passion Sarel had come to know him for.

“Are the pickings on the ship not good enough for you?” Sarel asked.

“The pickings on this island aren’t good enough for me. She could be special though.” Serge and Sarel were side to side, staring at the wall of jewels in front of them. The Khajiit shopkeeper came back into the room, he snapped at Sarel immediately.

“You can’t smoke in here” he hissed. Sarel left with his hands up in surrender.

Serge came back out with a little jewelry box in his hand, open. Two swirling circles of ebony sat in the beige fabric. After they spoke of the purchase they moved on to a nearby armorsmith. Sarel found a handsome suit of leather armor with scale accents. It cost him 1,200 septims and a welkyd stone, but he got it. He wrapped it up and stuffed it in his rucksack. The couple then walked down the road a bit until they came to another injunction, one that Serge was sure would lead to wherever the Dunmer girl was. They came out from under a small walkway and began on a dirt path, somewhere just outside the city. They walked a little further until they were able to see the bluff, and the girl.

“She is quite pretty,” Sarel conceded. He hadn’t seen another Dunmer woman like this for a very long time. She reminded him of Indaris, the only woman he could say full well that he loved. He felt the sting of old wounds near his stomach, and in his heart. The two approached rather cooly, clanking a little as they did.

“Blessings of the nine,” Serge called ahead of himself. “quite a lovely spot you have here.” Serge approached, stood right at the edge of her blanket. Sarel stood behind a little, smoking and taking in the sight of the harbor. “I am Serge, and this is Sarel. We were just talking about stopping for lunch. Weren’t we, Sarel?” Serge looked back to his Dunmer friend who turned his attention to the two other people before him.

“Yes, indeed. Just moments ago.”

“I have some cheese and bread in my bag, and some whiskey as well. Would you mind if we joined you?” Serge let a little of that boyish grin escape as he settled himself at eye height with the beautiful Dunmer girl, squatting. Sarel stepped around so that he could better see Serge and the girl, he smiled as well, albeit with far less euphemism. Serge glanced at Sarel, his armor and sword making him look rather menacing. “Oh, and don’t mind my friend. Sarel is careful, but as gentle as a mother hen. Well,” Serge remarked with a bit of irony, pointing out his own arms, and that of the Dark Elf girl before him, “we’re all a little bit careful aren’t we?” And he began to laugh, bidding Sarel join him with a hidden gesture, who then began to laugh, if not a little conspicuously, as well.

Kayal continued the practice of passing the ball of fire up between his hands until the door to Sharee's room opened. When it did he was quick to extinguish the flame with a quick close of his fist, cutting off the minor flow or magicka to the orb. He pushed himself off the wall as he watched Noelle and Sharee exit, "Morning Captain, officer Noelle." he said lowering his head respectfully. He saw Sharee glance toward him out of the corner of her eye but she made no attempt to acknowledge him until her door was properly shut and locked. Once it was she then acknowledged his presence, "Very much captain, muffled voices are my favorite kind of conversation. Though, I feel I should assure you, if I had heard anything it would be nothing of my business or anyone else's." He replied honestly, following behind her as she gestured for him to.

"But on to the point, last night you requested that I meet with you in the morning, saying you needed to talk to me about something. I thought it might have been better to wait until you were up and about before approaching you given your state the night before. But with our arrival at Khenarthi’s Roost, it seemed the time for waiting had passed so now here I am." He explained. He couldn't help but feel a bit of tension in the air which made Kayal extremely curious but he was in no way going to ask, he was truthful to what he had said, it was nothing of his business if they wanted him or anyone else to know then he would know soon enough.

Sharee listened to Kayal as they stepped off the ramp onto the docks. She honestly did not care if Kayal heard every single thing she and Noelle said. He and everyone else on the ship would find out later that afternoon what happened between them. Since the matter was essentially settled, she started to calm down as they made their way to the docking authority. It took her a few moments, but she remembered the reason she wanted to speak to Kayal; however, she needed to settle matters with the local authorities first. The trio approached the Khajiit in Thalmor robes who was waiting impatiently on them, with Sharee taking the lead.

"Ah, would one of you be the captain of this vessel?" He asked once it was apparent they were approaching him.

"That would be me." Sharee answered, immediately dropping the bag of septims into the Khajiit's hand as soon as she was in front of him. "There it is, five hundred septims. Is there anything else, or may we go about our business?" She asked somewhat impatiently.

"Just one thing." The Khajiit responded as he took a neatly folded parchment from his bag and handed it to her. "This one just needs you to sign this." He said, removing a quill from his bag and uncorking a small inkwell.

Sharee rolled her eyes and complied, signing a fake name onto the document before quickly handing it back. He nodded, then left wordlessly, which was completely fine by her. With that out of the way, they could get down to the real reason they were there. By far, the best starting place in her experience for finding information was a tavern. Not only did people tend to congregate there, but they tended to congregate while drunk, further improving the odds of her getting something useful out of one of the patrons. There usually was one close tot he docks, so they likely wouldn't have to look around for long.

"Now that that's over, yes, I wanted to speak to you. I've been paying attention to you over the past few days. I think you would make a good officer. We need to have one more to make sure all our combatants have someone to report to directly. To that end, I'm giving you charge of a team of four. Two of them are your friends, Zana and Nalla, or whatever their names are, and another two I forgot the names of. I'll give them to you later. Most of the other roles on the ship are filled, so you're going to be doing a lot of training with the crew. I suspect the other officers will be training their people, but you're going to be working with the rest, especially the non-combatants. Some of those sailors really know what they're doing, some...don't. You say you know a lot about sailing? Show me, and more importantly, show them." As Sharee was finishing her explanation, they spotted a tavern and stepped inside. As expected, it was at least moderately crowded, so there were plenty of potential targets for them to get information from. For now, she would simply observe and scope out the crowd to see who looked like a weak link to exploit.

As Ja started telling Kahl about talking to women, an Argonian accompanied by a Breton. "An odd bunch," he thought to himself. However, Ja was more interested in the fact that this Argonian carried herself with an air of importance. That, or Ja thought that about everyone other than him. He mentally shrugged and stood from the table. "I will be right back my friend, I must go talk to someone." He walked to the door where the two were standing. Ja walked straight to the Argonian and gave a deep bow. "Ja'Ranjo, at your service madam." He straightened up and looked into hopefully his next employer's eyes. "You don't look like most of the people that come through here, and you must be new to Khenarthi's Roost. This one knows a bit about the town and can help you find something if need be." He cracked a slight smile. "For example, a nice place to have fun would be up the stairs and the second door on the right. Or a good place to get some coin, I've been a bit busy while I've been here. But perhaps you already know what you are looking for, yes?" Ja regretted telling a complete stranger about his coin stash, mostly because these strangers saw him as an unarmed Khajiit with minimal protection. Hopefully he wouldn't need to try and defend his ill-gotten money, Ja wasn't so sure that Kahl would be a match for one of the two and Ja definately wasn't up to fighting both of them at once.

Sharee was approached almost as soon as they entered the tavern, even more quickly than usual. He needed only speak a few words before Sharee judged him to be a scoundrel, swindler, or at the very least, a womanizer. Normally, he would be a person she would send away, but in this case, this was exactly why she had picked a tavern to start in; there was no one better to get information from. Sharee knew his type, outgoing, always in everyone else's business looking for his next opportunity. There was no guarantee he would have any relevant information for her, but he might be able to point her to someone who did. She could use him well enough.

"I think I know what I am looking for...or maybe I have already found it." She looked him over from head to tail, giving him just a suggestive enough look to lead him on for a bit longer. "You know, I think it would be a good idea to have a seat, chat for a bit. Maybe this handsome cat wants to buy a thirsty Argonian a drink Something with...moon sugar in it, make it interesting."
