To answer your question @Raddum, I kept bumming around a wide variety of video games and a few anime and manga trying to narrow down who I wanted to play as.

I seriously considered dragging out a Zelda character but the question would be which one and from which timeline. I kept going back to the Mega Man franchise what with the insane selection within each individual game let alone series. In general I kept crossing back to digital life-forms such as NetNavis, .hack// players (or even AIs), and so on. I even considered old favorites like Marina Liteyears and Waffle Ryebread (I know the name is very very silly but policedogman in a mini-mecha is just pure silly fun). As much as I like Puella Magi I refuse to inflict Witches or QB on any setting and the same more or less goes for bringing Kingdom Hearts and a surprising number of Squaresoft, Enix, and Square-Enix titles.

I am and Nino sounds like a great character to have. Would be interesting to either see him as a support or one of those broken characters that grows into something else as a primary. Tyre/Trictech still has one primary character slot left so you're free to take it :)

On a different note two of my co-workers quit so I don't actually have any free time. I'm going to get started on an IC post now but if I don't finish I'll just have to post it later when I get the chance. Thank you for your patience!

EDIT: I have the OOC up, basically a copy of the interest check. I also updated the characters list with eveyrone and put it up on the character's page. Here's the link, roleplayerguild.com/topics/153251-lost..

I'll take a whack at Primary although I can see him dropping down to Secondary with someone else in the group taking up that position if things somehow manage to get worse with him.

Shame about your co-workers. Take your time, there's no need to rush on the IC post.
Mr L - Some Prick's Rooftop

As usual, he's got one hell of a view of the sunrise. Sure the tiles are cold and more than a bit uncomfortable to lay on but its nothing for something this keen. The village of Home (and what sort of lazy unimaginative loser picked that kind of a name is beyond him) is pretty quiet around this hour and it's a nice time to plan out what he'll probably do that day. Or at least it should be if not for Mr Ego Bigger Than Mr Shell-For-Brains Is Always Beaten By Red Fatsos. Mr L rolls his eyes as the freak finishes pummeling on every door in place. "Geeze. Sometimes I don't know who's worse: him or the Koopa creep. ... eh, probably him as at least King Incompetent ain't nowhere near here."

Speaking of Koopas how weird is it that some of the Pit rejects running around happen to look and move like them? Sure they are dumber than normal and just blindly attack but it sends chills down his spine at the thought of munching on their meat. He's not nuts like a Yoshi so while the thief might eat Koopa Pasta there's no way he'd eat Pasta with Koopa. Blegh. Looks like it's another day of pretty much Shroom Shakes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for him.

A flash of something purple catches his eye as Mr L starts to get a move on. There is no small amount of relief when he realizes it's just that butterball. Apparently she's doing the same thing as him, just on a distant roof. Huh. Wonder if she does this a lot. Not like he really paid much attention to her before.

I for one need a novel of this tale, ASAP.

It is an awe-inspiring story of trials and tribulations. Of one man rising to the challenge. Of doing what was previously considered impossible, especially when L is at a disadvantage as the most potent of his skills barred to him by the nature of this strange world.
It's almost time? Well, I know what time it is:
Time to panic!

I have this paragraph limit up because, being a busy man, I don't want to come home and have to read five chapters of Mr. L stealing Gutsman's mix-tape. I'm begging you!

I cannot make that promise. The epic must be told.
I'm not sure what I was expecting with the name but this sounds really interesting. Are you still looking for players?

Someone who actually understands and is cautious of the murderous, insane man in the forest.

That's just another obstacle to get around. Like endless pits, Thwomps, and lava bubbles.
And casual lethal violence is extremely common for the Mario-universe. As is madness.

A few titles can show just how far you can take RPGMaker are LISA, Cherry Tree High Comedy Club, and The Sacred Tears TRUE.

There's actually a lot of RTP-standard games that I enjoy and many many more that have original graphics and fun or interesting gameplay but it is past midnight and I really should get going to bed.
Regarding video games: my family is a bunch of tech-geek packrat bibliophiles. Dad started the collection with the Atari 2600 and the NES. As time progressed we had virtually every Nintendo system, all the SEGA systems, most of Sony's, and two of Microsoft's. I have fond memories of fighting sharing the Nomad and GameGear with my brother. The PS1 Screen made that a good option while traveling. The Virtual Boy pretty much stayed in the closet until we remembered it existed and then promptly put it back when we rediscovered why it had been a while since we last played with it.

@NekoMizu
To each their own. The song was incredibly silly. I loved it when the game was new. A few years later I realized just how hilariously bad it was.

Base RTP can be done well. It's just that if your game is going Commercial it would be nice if the developers who still use the default RTP took the time to make their own sprites. Heaven help you if you use the generated face sprites...

Here's the only problem with Pokemon Essentials: Nintendo has been doing mass wipes of a lot of well made games along with all the first tries. And many troll-games. Fangames are like fanfiction: a lot of people start off writing little stories based off of things they enjoy. Maybe they get fair critiques. Maybe not. Eventually many who enjoy writing and get better go on to write their own stories. I can understand wanting to prevent people from making money off of their IP but outside of site advertisements, the occasional LP, and some tip-jars, most if not all fangames are non-commercial.

@Shoryu Magami
It can be a bit tricky to find some good PC RPGs. Sometimes the reviews are skewed by "positive" reviews made by people who just want to troll the internet. Sometimes the game is actually really good but there's issues with the Dev or again trolls have struck. Then there's framerate lag or people just assuming that the game stinks because the program used to make it.
With RPGMaker I highly recommend looking at RPGMaker dot net. There's a lot of good stuff buried on Gamejolt and Itch.io but you have to really dig in past the new games, the troll games, the poorly done 'horror', the endless FNAF horde (on Gamejolt), and all the really weird stuff (usually on Itch.io).

Charisma is neutral. It can be good, getting people to agree to do something wonderful. But... well... There's plenty of examples of it being used poorly or horribly.

Also: it varies. Sometimes the base RTP game has a wonderful story. Sometimes it has a wonderful story hampered by poorly executed coding. Many times the base RTP is your standard generic fantasy plot.
Sometimes the RTP doesn't matter because the point of the game is something completely different. Case in point: the Hirigana battle games where it tries to teach the player how to read kanji through RPG combat.
