@RenaKin90 @Smiter19 @Zi @ShmektheshmuckAmira’s gaze slithered onto the apothecary, who seemed somewhat wary of her presence, questioning her reasons for being here.
Why was she here? She too asked herself that. Too demonic to be human, too human to be a demon – this was the predicament Amira was faced with. Perhaps, that’s why she decided assisted the motley group to begin with, because despite being in a pack, she could sense that they too were ultimately alone in this dog-eat-dog world. And while her heart screamed safety in numbers, her head told her to get the hell away from this place, and that she shouldn’t have assisted them to begin with. These afflicting thoughts bickered at one another, causing the demon great emotional discomfort.
“I have my reasons for being here, just like you.” She replied calmly.
Just as she was ready to leave things at that, the apothecary spoke up once more, this time with the intention to provoke.
“More than your petty money can buy.” Amira retorted, a slight tinge of annoyance in her voice as she wiped the blood from her bottom lip. The demon then averted her attention onto the human who had so brazenly brandished his sword at the vampire beside her. Amira herself didn’t seem to sense any underlying blood lust from the nocturnal being, but that didn’t stop the man from challenging it.
“Someone please assist this man.” Amira stated candidly, looking him up and down like a disapproving mother. It was then that she noticed the smaller, more petite being beside him. She was strange looking, with the ears of an elf, but the pale features of a vampire.
Hmm? So, this is what they were fighting to protect? This intrigued the demon greatly. It was rare to see a halfling, let alone one of her kind. After all, vampires were such haughty and pompous creatures.
Amira then suddenly remembered the other man from before, the one who she had assisted up the hill.
He had gone out to fetch something, and— Amira’s recollecting faltered as soon as she saw the masked man. Having counted the people around her, she could tell that, that was him. Only he had concealed himself, something she presumed was because his charred face.
“I didn’t quite catch your name, stranger.” Amira inquired, looking at him with a sort of child-like curiosity.
