A sliver of light kept prodding the prince over his eyes, and finally, he relented and made a small motion with his body as he allowed himself to wake up. He was on the floor, hand still holding tightly to his sword. It took him little time to remember why he was not in his bed, and he quickly sat up, moving his attention to where he presumed Lady Smithwood would be. However, her presence was absent.
Of course. He studied the sheets and comforter and how they had been moved. His shoulders relaxed. She could be quiet when she wanted to be. That was some sort of relief. His leg flexed along with his arm, and he stood up. He felt stiff some sleeping on the floor, but it came with a conscious of comfort. His hand untucked his pocket watch to view the time. It was later than he had thought. It was a quiet discomfort that he had slept so long and sound. The pocket watch was tucked into his pocket, and next, the rapier was placed along the wall, where a sword carrier was hung. He removed his jacket and draped it onto the hook on the coat rack.
The first thing he would do was shower. He could still smell the aftermath of the ball on him. There was also a floral scent from Lady Smithwood. While he did not dislike the smell, he found it would be somewhat embarrassing to flounce her in such a matter. He drew in a sigh and looked towards the unkept bed. He had a lot of sorting to do.
After his shower, still many things were on his mind, and Lady Smithwood was amongst all of them. Her appearance had caused much turn amongst gossip, which was, again, not surprising. There was a lack of proper surprise in her element that he found unnerving, and for this reason, he decided it was only orthodox to guide her such a decent direction -- by surprising her with a gift. After Prince Felix showered and made himself ready for the day, he discarded the tabloids, sent a message (through a maid named Mathilda) to the Lady, relating her prescence is requested at The Gossamer, forewent having any sort of breakfast, and made his way towards the markets.
He had some time before the horse races would begin. In the meantime, he had an entire conversation to hypothesize. Rarely did his meetings with Lady Smithwood go as planned. Occasionally, he felt a warmth towards her, and it was these times he began pondering what could have made such a tendency. Although, he felt some fear in this happening. There were too many unpredictable variables. Last night only proved his point. Of course, last night was the only reason he felt it so necessary to invite her out for an evening. He would rather have them enjoy the festivities without minding each other. However, the current circumstances seemed a little too obvious to ignore.
As he had already elaborated in his own mind that scandal was all part of a historical legacy in the royal courts. There were many reasons for scandal, and sometimes the reasons for them were not so obvious. Of course, for power, but beyond such the snake was cunning. And Lady Smithwood was fragile. The seams of her likeness were undone, and he felt it was necessary that he at least make something of the loose threads, if not for the sake of his betrothed, then for his own curiosity. Any scandal hurting the court of the Varian Kingdom was worth his time.
With his rapier at his side once again dressed for the athletics of the day -- he would change for the date later tonight contigent upon Lady Smithwood's approval of the request, Prince Felix made his way towards the jewelers. He briefly thought of something easily customizable as so no one else would have it the same. Next, he discarded the idea of a ring. There was something too romantic about it that frightened him, as he had yet to begin dreaming of the perfect wedding ring for her. He did not choose a necklace -- something wrapped around her neck, like a collar. A bracelet seemed far too simple, and if he were to gift her earrings, they would never be seen unless she did something special with her hair, which he would not find attractive. He preferred her hair free flowing, which was some sort of mystery to him, as it matched her personality. While he felt hostile towards her overly whimsical nature, he also found it secretly endearing, which is why he chose a hair piece. It was beautiful and would not attract unwanted attention to any part of her. It would do the opposite. It would exemplify her nobility.

Ryan screamed when the ground shook and exploded behind her. She felt her body lunge anywhere to get away from whatever was happening. Shards of mud and dirt sprayed around her. She could hear the sound of teeth smashing against each other. She felt Terriermon slip from her arms when her body sprang forward, and when she landed on the ground, her body was shaking. Her breaths were rapid, and all she saw was earth being unhinged. Her bruised palms pushed her body upwards, as the toes of her boots dug into the hard dirt. Dark hair clung to her damp cheeks.
She tried to push herself upwards but stumbled the first time, and when she looked around for Terriermon, trying to locate him through the sound of his voice as it resonated through the various echoes, she saw a lizard-like monster - no - Digimon swatting at the stupid dweeb. He just stood there like a moron. How dumb is this guy?
With a stutter in her step, she tried to tackle Riku but found herself falling to the ground just short of him. "You need to... get out of here!" She felt dizzy from the two falls and vastly unaware of her surroundings. Everything was too chaotic, and the silence of the evening was growing more and more distant with each passing moment.
Oh, God! Where is Terriermon?
She had to find him through the commotion, and without any more needed wonder, the sound of his voice burned through the chaos:
"Blazing Fire!" the horned Digimon called out as its ears flung backwards. Fire sprouted from the small Digimon in a vain attempt to distract the fiercely large predator. Ryan turned her attention and looked helplessly at Terriermon. He was so small compared to the other Digimon. "Run away, Ryan! I'll distract 'em while you get to safety!" Terriermon's eyes narrowed as he called out another attack and began twisting around in a circular motion. His ears cut through the air as he spun towards the attacking Digimon.
Ryan watched as his silhouette passed through the setting sun. His shadow was flickering, and all Ryan could do was desperately try to catch her breath. She couldn't leave him here. Her teeth bit down on her lower lip, until she looked at Riku. Her body stammered away from him, as she awkwardly brought herself to a stand. She took several more desperate breaths, "We need to go!" And with that, she turned her body away from him. As she began to run, she took one last glimpse at Terriermon. His shadow was now merged with the other's shadow.
