Today was genuinely a good day. Nothing special happened, but it reminded me what it was like to have a good day by simply being what it is. I forgot what this felt like. Here’s to the future.

Last night, I had a dream where I was having a hard time piecing together all the Brio tracks for my toddler. Tough times, man. Better luck tonight, hopefully. 🚂

I was stressed the electricity would go out this week; but it didn’t. So, here’s to getting caught up on all the laundry preemptively. 🍷

The Sound of Music (1965)

My husband was astounded one evening to find out that I hadn’t watched this movie, yet, and then the family went in a Time Machine to the 1960’s and enjoyed this wonderful classic. First of all, the main character is trying to be a nun but ends up getting married, instead, which for some reason, is a total win in my book. The movie is a delightful, “tuneful and heartfelt movie.” It’s very wholesome and even has historical contexts for you history buffs. And of course, the acting is on-key; literally!

For a little sugar on top, my seven year old stepson made the comment, “Dad, you’re like the dad, and [Mole] is like the nice lady.” Last night, he asked to watch the movie, again. I’d like to imagine if I had gone through with becoming a nun, then perhaps, I would have been just like Maria. Songs and all.

‘Nuff said.

10/10 — I will be re-watching this movie.
Hi!
@Gunther, woah, hold your horses. I was making a silly general statement, not trying to complain about him. I have lots of things about him that I’m proud about with his successes. I’m not really into pushing my children’s achievements (nor mine for that matter) onto everyone. I don’t need other people’s approvals or praise. As well, every parenting book I have read (which is more than an arms full) has said comparing your children to other people is bad parenting and therefore, a total no-no.

On a more Christianity level, bragging can cause embarrassment or embitterment in other people. There are prayers in which we ask God to keep us from doing these things. I try to abide by them to the best of my imperfect abilities.

RPG is a great place for what you’re looking for. Good luck & have fun! 👋🏼
My oldest son told me can speak brain rot language, now, and like, I can’t get over how close the acorn fell from the tree. It’s like we’re related or something. #reapwhatyousow

He’s also six years away from being how old I was when I gave birth to him. I accidentally blinked, I guess.
