Description of Government: Numburg is controlled by the Numburgian trading Company an economic titan of the new age. Each Numburgian City is ruled by a Governor and an Administator. The Governor handles Protection, Law and order, Healthcare, education, Military and Naval operations. The administrators are representatives from Numburg trading Co. that handle all economic affairs within their post. They are responsible for making sure that everything runs smoothly in industrial regions and ports alike. They are put into power by the Numburgian Administratum which is the highest power within Numburg.
The Administratum is elected based upon efficiency as the Administrator of a given city. There are 12 total members that serve for life. (Unless they resign) When the time comes for a new member to be elected the Administratum reviews all current administrators and selects the most efficient one. If one cannot be ruled as the most efficent then a vote shall be held. The head of the Numburgian Empire is referred to as the Grand Viceroy. The Viceroy is elected by the previous Viceroy from the Administratum pool. The selection is made in the same way a will is written. If the selected member cannot or will not serve the Administratum will elect one of it's own members with each member being unable to vote for themselves.
Description of Economy: The Numburgian economy is one of the most powerful in the world boasting both an incredible industrial scale while also being on the forefront of international trade. There is little Numburg will not do if it turns a profit. As a trade nation Numburg has invested heavily in transportation with railroads throughout their own country as well as many coastal ports and even an Air dock. Numburgs economy is for the most part state run as the Numburgian Trading Co. runs the state, however occasionally small businesses are allowed to operate for limited amounts of time before being absorbed. It is in other countries where Numburg seeks to do business and where the vast majority of its profits originate.
While known primarily for its attempts at global trade Numburg has a sprawling industrial sector which constantly turns out products for Numburg trading Co.
Far across the sea lies New Numburg, while only a colony of the new world New Numburg had grown rapidly as a coastal trade territory, it's wealth of natural resources ready to be exploited by the Numburgians should they discover them. Numburgian coins are all stamped in the same fashion with the Cog of Numburg emblazons one half the face of Markus Finch resides on the other.
Description of Culture: Numburgian Cities are both grand and depressing. Great smoke stacks rise above them as the seemingly endless tides of industry roll on. Smog blots out the sky yet the attitude of the citizens within Numburg is in no way downturned. Employees of Numburg Trading Co. are payed handsomely for their efforts and even receive state sponsored healthcare and education.
The people of Numburg have 3 primary classes The poor, the common, and the Nobility. The poor as the title might imply are those with little to no income. There is no government sponsored unemployment program, in some cases the unemployed may even be forced to work for little to no pay at all. The common are those people that have skilled labor jobs. Anything from sawing lumber to polishing an ornate chair is considered to be a craft if the common.
The nobility are made up of the Numburgian trading Co officials. City Governors, Administratum heads, the wealthiest of merchants.
A heavy sense of self pride and nationalism are placed upon the citizens of Numburg as they believed that Numburg is the strongest Economic country in the world and that in order for them to continue their way of life they must remain productive. This has also helped to reduce unemployment across the entire Empire. However this has also lead to some political tension in th past as many of the common believe themselves above the people of other nations.
Description of Military: The Numburgian military is not the strongest in the world and is untested throughout its brief history having never had a direct conflict with other nations. However the men and women of the Numburgian armed forces are well equipped and trained and have had success in the past while dealing with pirates and the savages of the new world. The Numburgians prefer to employ large bipedal mechs when possible as their thick armor removes much of the danger that the natives ambushing tactics impose. These machines run on blue coal and can remain active for roughly 10 hours before they must refuel (depending on stores of course) Mechs require a minimum of 3 Operators to function however 4 operators will allow the machine to preform at its peak. The most important role being the Pilot followed by the Gunner and Commander. The fourth role is that of the loader, while it is possible for any of the roles to load it requires that they step away from their own position so is of course not preferred.
Numburg has modernized what military powers it has utilizing Bolt action firearms in conjunction with Fully Automatic firearms (either stationary or mount upon a vehicle). While they know of such technologies Numburg has done little in the field of Artillery viewing it as unneeded in their current conflicts. They do employ larger guns on mechs however these poorly resemble artillery and are primarily used for structure busting at close range. While they have had success against the natives of the new world their presence has all but halted further colonization efforts further inland. The natives have used ambush tactics primarily against the forces of Numburg which at first proved hugely effective resulting in several crushing defeats, an embarrassing mark to say the least. But with time and the creation of the mech more and more the natives have been forced to retreat.
History: Numburg was founded during the turn of the century from the remains of a once powerful trade nation known as Numbar. Historically a trade nation in its own regard Numbar was believed to have been founded by Lancian tribes hundreds of years ago. Upon the turn of the century the government of Numbar found themselves in total dept to the trading family known as the Numburgians. While the originally Numburgian line had died out a century ago House Finch currently held position of the title. Upon the discovery of blue coal the family quickly invested in its nations own raw supplies and found themselves as the lone share holders, with no competition and almost no political opponents the company seized control of Numbar and seemingly overnight turned it into the trading empire it is today. With the discovery of the new world Numburg quickly attempted to exploit it but had multiple disasters in the process costing the country dearly and forcing them to arrive to the new world late. Relations with southern native tribes descended into violence rather quickly due to communication barriers, while this has been overcome with the Matwe Numburgs general racism has lead to an uneasy relationship between the two nations. Now with the new world rapidly shrinking Numburg seeks to invest in other colonies and to look to the far east as well. In their home land, Numburg seeks to gain control of the straight of Gibralter as it would garner possibly massive transportation tariffs on foreign trade.
Numburg has also started construction of massive rail roads throughout their own country and seek to expand these rails into neighboring nations.
